Krispy KRUNCHY Chicken has taken over from what KFC used to be ! It's so good that we keep coming back! It's delicious like for real and it's old inside a gas station lol!!! Krunchy on the outside and super moist on the inside! We usually just get the chicken but have also tried the wedges, Cajun Shrimp and other sides! The chicken is still the winner though! I used to eat here a least one every other month. However, since this location has new ownership, they have stopped injecting the chicken with the seasoning it's known for having. The skin was right, but the meat has zero flavor! I made a run at one of these in their Hayward location for a potluck. That experience was so good that I had to do another one closer to home. It was getting kinda late and unsure of their hours, so I made a hasty run up in here. I walked in and was greeted by staff behind the KKC counter. As I looked at the menu, she immediately apologized and told me whatever they have left is it since they're about to close. "However, you came at a good time." I saw 4 pieces of wings, 2 legs and one fish. As she called who I assume was the manager over, I decided all this was enough. Manager came through and said, "$8.99 for all of it - out the door." Score! They also threw in an order of fries and a sandwich! How generous are they!!! VERDICT: Chicken was, of course, crispy and crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Fries with good seasoning. Sandwich went to Hubbers, so can't comment on that. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 5. VALUE: 5. Given it was the last of their offers, they gave it at a mad discount! PARKING: Small gas station. Couple of spots onsite but plenty of street parking available. OVERALL: 5. It was a perfect (albeit quick) visit, so they deserve nothing less than a perfect rating. Stopped there on a fluke. Needed air in my tire and saw the sign for chicken. I love good fried chicken, and had heard that KKC has some. It is located in the back of an older gas station. I ordered a 3-piece for $8 (came with a biscuit) at the food at the chicken counter and had to go pay at the gas register. The lady that was working there was very nice, and the service was good. I drove home to eat the chicken {about 20 minutes) and it was still warm and really delicious. I have not had better fast service chicken ever. The skin was crunch, and seasoned nicely. Went there today and ordered a mixed family pack, and we were given all drumsticks and thighs. When I called back to complain, I was told the company has changed their menu and they no longer have breast or wings. They also said the order WAS "mixed" because it was two different parts of the chicken in the box. Apparently mixed no longer means dark and white meat, but just not all of one piece. This spot is a good example of dont judge a book by its cover! Its location inside what seems to be a pretty beat-down gas station may seem unappealing to most but I gotta say the food is actually pretty decent! When you walk into the gas station convenience store, you'll find this place tucked in the back. If you have any sort of fried chicken or wings craving, this spot will satisfy it! That is precisely what led me to try this place out. Cajun style fried chicken, crispy and seasoned relatively well. I have tried both dark and white meats here; go with their dark trust me! I opted to get white meat today because they were out of the dark and wow it was soo dry! Definitely sticking to dark from now on. Their hot sauce is a must here, a great compliment to the wings. The chicken was flavorful and moist and their biscuits r the best I've had so far compared to all other chicken spots. Perfect balance of sweet and salty. I could've gone without the chicken tenders and potato wedges, the wedges are way too thick. I was afraid I was gonna get full off of eating one wedge. The reason why I'm knocked off a star is because at the time I came in they did not have any chicken legs or mac and cheese! The customer service is awful. The cashier/cook was the most unenthusiastic person I've ever encountered. He took my order without a smile, hello, how can I help you, or welcome to Krispy Krunchy, then turned his back and walked away. He didn't wash his hands after taking my money but, he did put on one glove....I'm sure to keep his hand from being covered in flour not because that's the sanitary thing to do. While preparing my order he talked on his cell phone. When he ended his call, he went back to cooking...once again...no soap and water. My prayer will be extra long before sinking my teeth into my chicken and waffles today. What's wrong with people these days! Does customer service mean nothing!!! The heavy set lady then looked at me like she had never seen me, that's when I knew I was in trouble. I asked for my order & she once AGAIN informed me they were out & this time "wasn't cooking anymore chicken." Huh??????? I reminded her she had told me they were cooking some when I left. She told me, well we out. What's my options? Dark meat or tenders. After going back & forth with this chick who clearly had chicken fatigue, I took some tenders & a couple wings. I heard about this place and I finally got to try it out and I could say that it's pretty darn good!!!! I think it's better than KFC and it's about the same or little bit on a higher level of Popeyes chicken. Every time we have a potluck or family get together we always buy a big bucket of chicken and bring it and everybody loves it!!!
