I used to primarily go to the…read moreWest Hartford location, especially when I was working, and Cheshire quickly became my favorite because it's closer to home. If I was craving BIRDCODE, I'd stop without thinking twice. That's why tonight's experience was especially disappointing. I stopped at the Cheshire location tonight, 8/18 around 8:08 PM, and from the beginning I felt rushed while ordering. I gave my order, including a sweet tea, but the interaction was so rushed that I decided to double-check everything at the window. My order was $42.67 before the sweet tea, which was also shown on my order paper. At the window, I had issues using the loyalty points on the account. I handed over the phone multiple times and received conflicting answers about whether there were points available, even though the account holder could see that there were 80+ points available. Eventually I just paid and moved on. I then checked the bag before leaving because I already felt like the order had been rushed -- and my sweet tea was missing. When I mentioned it, I was told it hadn't been heard during the order. I explained that I had said it twice and that the order had been repeated back to me, but the interaction had been so rushed that I wasn't surprised something was missed. I was charged for it, which was completely fine. I also had to ask about an extra ranch that I didn't initially see in the bag. Unfortunately, when I got home, the pink lemonade was so bad that I had to throw it away. I've had a large portion of BIRDCODE's menu over the years, so I know what I'm used to from them. The sweet tea tasted normal, but the lemonade did not. The food itself was fine -- nothing wrong with what I'm accustomed to from BIRDCODE. The service is what really ruined this visit for me. I don't expect perfection, and I understand mistakes happen, but as a longtime customer, I don't expect to feel rushed, unheard, and like I have to check behind the staff to make sure my order is actually correct. The name on the sticker was Courtney, and unfortunately this interaction has made me want to take a break from BIRDCODE altogether. That's disappointing because this used to be a place I could go to without hesitation. I hope this is taken as constructive feedback because I genuinely have loved BIRDCODE for a long time.

The service is really good too, they have a very family-friendly vibe and you feel that since everytime I went in, someone of the staff knew someone coming in to eat. I think the only reason I can't give 5 stars is that the food was different on two seprate times I went, even though I ordered the same item. Twice I ordered party wings (as pictured) and the first time they had the crispy coating and then were sauced. (I liked that better personally) Then, the next time, they were not coated and just fried. They were both cooked and fully delicious because I ate all of them, but they weren't the same both times. It's not gonna stop me from going again, because either way those wings come out, I'm still gonna eat them, hahaha. There's just no place nearby that has a honey garlic sauced wings!

Between going in to the Bottle Refund at the Stop & Shop on this same plaza and then making my way over to a storage unit I have over on Captain Neville, I decided to come here for lunch. Prior to this, I have only ever eaten at Five Guys in Norwalk. So about Five Guys, I hear mixed things about the cleanliness of the fast food franchise. As a child, I would be told that Five Guys was a very dirty fast food establishment where a lack of hygiene from employees would tell stories to others. Then I have heard that Five Guys is actually kept clean because managers are afraid an inspector might come in at any moment. At the end of the day, if you're gonna go to Five Guys, you have to form your opinion. Don't take others at their own word! For my visit to this location, I went with a bacon cheeseburger with A-1 Steak Sauce (yes, you can actually get that as a fast food condiment), the Little Fries because I know the bag normally gets loaded with fresh-cut fries, even with the smallest size, and a large soda. Today's fries apparently were shipped all the way from St. Anthony, Idaho, wherever that is. Still, the fries came out piping hot which is always a good thing, and they weren't bland at all. The burger tasted fine, nothing wrong with it. The A-1 Steak Sauce you can kind of taste, but there were some places where the cheese didn't completely melt (I prefer my sliced cheeses to have a good melt). It won't win any awards, but it'll get the job done. The ambiance I can get behind. It's actually decently clean, especially when you compare it to other fast food places such as a McDonald's or Chipotle. Even the bathrooms are inviting. One touch I really liked was that the music played was a nice compliment to the atmosphere this place had. Songs I Shazamed here include but are not limited to "Black Holes (Solid Ground)" by The Stones, "She's Kerosene" by The Interrupters, and "Ready and Willing" by New Found Glory. The employees are okay. No one really stood out to me as "AMG THEY'RE AMAZING, MAKE THEM CEO RIGHT THIS SECOND", but on the flip side no one really stood out to me as particularly rude either. They're your run-of-the-mill fast food employees, and that's all you really need to know. Now, I know I am rating this a 3, but really, consider this more of a 3 and a half. It's good, but you won't miss out on anything by not going here either.
