I don't usually leave reviews, especially -ones, but I have not been to Krispy Kreme in many years, and I will not go back anytime soon. The customer service is absolutely horrible. The employees move a slow as molasses. I had to wait several minutes to pay. The employee at the counter didn't say hi, hello, or kiss my rear. They gave me someone else's order, and I got a few miles down the road before I realized it. I walked six blocks from my Airbnb to this Krispy Kreme, expecting what the brand has spent decades promising: fresh donuts in the morning. It was 7:30 AM. Not only was there no "Hot Now" light, but the staff casually mentioned that they had just turned on the equipment and that it would be at least another 20 minutes before anything fresh came out. That's right. A donut shop with no fresh donuts ready at 7:30 in the morning. What they did have were clearly yesterday's leftovers. Cold, heavy, and with glaze sliding off like the donuts had been sweating through the night. These weren't fresh Krispy Kreme donuts. They were tired, sticky shells of what they used to be. This isn't just about timing. It's about completely failing to deliver the most basic expectation of the Krispy Kreme experience. If you can't have fresh donuts ready for early morning customers, why even open? I get that stores have operational challenges. But if that's the case, then own it. Don't stock the counter with old product and hope nobody notices. I noticed. And I won't be back to this location. This visit felt like a cheap bait and switch. On more than one occasion the service has been incredibly slow. The first time, it took 15 minutes to fulfill an order of a donut and a coffee. More recently, it took over 20 minutes to order a few hot chocolates. Worst of all, my order was incorrect and I was given coffees instead of hot chocolate. Went here with my wife during our visit to NAS. It had been years since we purchased from Krispy Kreme. We were asked if we wanted a dozen regular donuts or assorted and chose assorted. They charged us for assorted, then multiple individual items in the assorted box. The donuts were just put out when we arrived, but still did not look or taste fresh. I went through the drive thru today and the guy at the window was so rude and had there not been a line of cars behind me, I would have asked to speak to the manager. I have just had it with this place. Does management even train people anymore? I was so happy to move to a neighborhood with a Krispy Kreme until I went there. The first time about 9am on a weekday I ordered coffee "leave room for milk" and tried to figure out why there weren't more donuts available. The Coffee was full to the brim so I had to dump some of it in the trash so I could add milk. I figure this is an off day. The next few times I visit I ask for a box of mixed...there is never a plain glazed in the box, the signature donut. I go thru the drive thru instead the next time about 7:30 am on a friday and was handed a box of mixed donuts that seemed like they were just taken out of the freezer. This is just sad. We went on a Saturday morning over an hour after they opened and they hadn't unlocked the inside doors yet, they were only seeing customers through the drive through. They saw we were trying to get in and unlocked the doors. When asking for a donut in the display case, they said they didn't have any left because the ones we saw were from yesterday and they hadn't made fresh ones for today. They also said their latte machine was down so they didn't have any iced coffee. The original glazed doughnuts are gross. But the seasonal doughnut they have near the fall is pretty good. Originally it was the cinnamon swirl then they put a twist on it every year after. This year its pumpkin spice latte swirl. 1st day I attempted to get one, I said "can I get 1 pumpkin sw---?" I was cut off by the rude employee saying "we ain't got no pumpkin." Get home, I pulled it out of the bag and it was so hard and stale feeling. It was all smushed in & it was so tiny. No way it was made that day. That was last month's doughnut. What happen to full size, fluffy fresh doughnuts? Wasted my gas going back & forth 4x's. Manager gave me my money back as if that was worth the 4 trips & disappointment. The employees here are dishonest and lazy. I ordered a medium iced coffee and some donuts. The iced coffee they handed me was smaller than the cup my son gets with his happy meal. When I questioned them they insisted that I got the correct size (the manager was right there too). Since I was in the drive through and didn't want to hold up other people from getting to work I just left. The coffee it self was so watered down it was like drinking flavored water. It was awful! I ended up throwing it away anyway. But the point is... If they ran out of the other sized cups or even if they messed up and gave me the wrong size, just tell me. It really isn't that big of deal but to treat me like I'm stupid and didn't know any better really makes me mad. I hope they get better management and honest employees. Me and two of my friends walk in the store, only customers in there, and we wait to be acknowledged or tended to. There were two or three ladies at the front and not a single person said a word to us, greeted us, asked if we needed help or if we were ready to order. Mind you there is one other car in the parking lot and one in the drive through. We waited 6-7 minutes and no one said a word to us!!! This lady at the counter was chatting it up with her best friend about some show and made eye contact with me multiple times but didn't bother saying or helping out in any way. Three or four different ladies looked at me and my group (3 young white males) and didn't bat an eye. I felt like we were disturbing them and their precious chat time with friends over the counter! This is one of the few times I've felt as if it were racism because they didn't have a problem serving the black lady in front of us! Please shut this place down these people frickin' suck. This is my favorite Krispy Keene in the entire country. Why? It's nostalgic. I think you can get hot doughnuts at any time these days, but back when I went to college here you had to look for that red flashing sign! I'd leave Seville Quarter at 3am and I could usually find the sign blinking. I'd feel like I hit the jackpot. Who doesn't want extra sweet hot doughnuts after shaking their tail all night at a club? If the "hot donuts now" light wasn't flashing, we'll what's the point? I worked downtown too and if I happened to be in the area and saw that light it would draw me in even if I wasn't thinking about doughnuts. This location always allowed people to see behind the scenes and watch the hot doughnuts being made and coming down the conveyor belt and being picked up with a stick by a worker getting your hot doughnut box ready. This was THE BEST Krispy Kreme experience of my life. It all started when my wife said she wanted to end the night with some donuts IF the hot sign was on. I try my best to make her world so after dinner we swing by the Krispy but there was no hot sign! Maybe they forgot to turn it on? Maybe they still have some hot ones? Let's check. We head to the drive thru but see a piece paper taped on to speaker box that said it was out of order and I needed to pull up to the window. Things were not looking promising. We get to the window and we're greeted by the sweetest lady in the world. My biggest regret of the night is that I didn't get her name. I ask if they have hit donuts. They don't. Detestation. Despair. But, they might have hot donut holes. She screams to the back "WESLEY, CAN I TAKE SOME DONUT HOLES OFF THE RACK? WHY? BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WANT HOT DONUTS". Apparently this Wesley consents and she reaches for the donut holes. They're clumped in 3's and she was very adamant that she didn't want to squish them. We're grateful for her care. Then, like out of a movie: Wesley pops out of the corner to save the day and pack the donut holes un-squished. Is this the Wesley we've heard of? Is this the one who allowed hot donut holes to be sold? Is this HIM? It is. I shout through the drive thru "Wesley, Thank You" and I meant it from the deepest recesses of my soul. But Wesley didn't know that I overheard his name called. I can only imagine he was thinking "Who is this stranger calling my name through the drive thru?" Have you ever heard of deer in headlights? Spun his head around and our eyes locked. This man was more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. He realized we meant no harm. He packed the donuts. Handed them to the sweet lady and returned to back. I asked the sweet lady to let Wesley know he was the people's champ. She screamed to the back "WESLEY.
