Robyn helped me work with basic obedience right after I got my Hazel while Robyn was still at PetSmart. It was immediately clear that she has a next-level understanding of how to translate what our human expectations are into language and consistency our pups can understand. She is efficient and yet effective at explaining why the techniques she teaches work. Well a couple years passed and, for the first time since I adopted Hazel, I was going to be traveling somewhere she couldn't come. While looking for solutions, I considered a Board and Train situation but was weary of trusting my pup to just anyone. By complete happenstance, around the same time I ran into Robyn and her husband while running errands! Lo and behold, they had started their own training company and would board and train Hazel for me. I was so relieved! This was the first time I had left Hazel with anyone other than family and the first time she'd been left for more than a night. Robyn and her staff took great care in communicating. Hazel is a breed mix of some famously smart and stubborn breeds. Training effectively requires consistency and, most importantly, cooperation from the owner. Robyn and her staff excel equally at working with the dog and 'training' the owner. I am so excited to continue learning and working with Goode Dog Training to give Hazel and myself the best possible foundation. I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

From Fearful Rescue to Confident Companion - Exceptional Experience in Frisco!…read more I cannot thank Joseph and the team at Dog Training Elite Frisco enough for the transformation in my 1-year-old GSD/Lab mix, Lily. I rescued Lily at 4 weeks old, and despite my best efforts, she struggled with severe anxiety, leash pulling, and reactivity toward people and other dogs. At 50 lbs, she was becoming impossible to walk, and I was truly worried she'd never be able to enjoy the world around her. After an insightful evaluation with Tra, we decided on the 2-week Board and Train. As a nervous dog mom, I was worried she would shut down, but Joseph was a godsend. To ease my anxiety, he provided daily pics and updates on her progress, which meant the world to me. Joseph didn't just "train" her; he matched her energy, recognized her sweetness, and built her confidence from the ground up through discipline and engagement. He used creative training environments--like walks in the woods and outdoor sessions--to meet her exactly where she was. It's clear Joseph views dog training as an art and is his passion; he invested so much heart into her, and the bond they formed was great to see. The "hand-off" was seamless. Joseph spent significant time showing me how to transfer those skills at home. Austin then provided the "missing link" with in-home reinforcement sessions. He was fantastic at coaching me to ensure I was executing commands the "right way" so Lily and I could have long-term success. Between the board and train and the group classes, Lily has become a thriving, loyal family companion. I have zero hesitation recommending Joseph for any Board and Train needs and Austin for expert in-home coaching. They didn't just train my dog; they empowered me to be a better owner and Lily a thriving, loyal family best friend!

Since then, there has been zero follow-up--neither to me nor to the organization ready to fund the training. I even reached out personally to their lead trainer, Tray, and got no response. The lack of communication and professionalism--especially on a veterans-related initiative--is unacceptable. I expected more from a company that claims to support veterans. I would not recommend them based on my experience.

He's well socialized but can be timid in new environments. We chose Legacy Dog Resort as the choice to board our dogs for the first time as we prepared for an out of town trip we were taking. We did the trial day before boarding for a four day stay. On the second day of the stay, they called and said there was an incident where our dog attacked another dog unprovoked while playing alongside a fence - and as a result, they would keep him isolated for the remainder of the day. While thinking this was a bit of a harsh response, this was also the first time they mentioned of a 'three strike' policy they have. While obviously concerned, as our dog has never shown this type of aggression, didn't really know how to handle - especially being out of town. I asked them to monitor him the next day and call immediately if another issue arose. They did not call the next day, which my assumption - like the three other days, our dog played fine. Never questioned an incident took place but we were concerned of the environment our dog was in for him to act out of character like this. It wasn't until Sunday, 9/29/24, after we called to check in did they inform us that our dog was no longer welcomed back because of the one incident that occurred that Friday. So instead of working with us to moderate, break up his play time - judgement was passed and identified our dog as a 'problem' dog - completely omitting their own three strike rule. Upon pick up on 9/30/24, the kind lady at the front desk showed me the footage. There were about 30 dogs in the clip hanging around by a fence as described, but what was not explained initially as shown in video - two dogs jumped on my dog's back, which is what initiated the incident. Not justifying my dog's behavior - but it clearly showed why he reacted the way he did. Again, I repeat, we never questioned 'something' occurred with our dog and that there was an incident, but remain concerned that not only was the incident not as described, they chose to just ban him without working with us to find a solution. To summarize, we are very disappointed with our experience at this facility as a former new client. I still think the staff is great - friendly, and attentive, but have serious concerns on how quickly the owner (whose decision it was) handled the situation to our detriment. I understand the need to uphold policies - but that didn't occur here. We have documents of references from other boarding places to vouch for our dog, and wish they worked with us to correct a one time issue - but we were never given that chance. If you are a new client, please be aware of how they implement their policies to rid out those 'problem' dogs.
