H & S Flooring - Glue down hardwood floor

H & S Flooring

Don't let the "Flooring" part of this business name sway you. In addition to hardwood, laminate…read moreand tile floors, they do all forms of finish carpentry work, trim, doors, and other interior home renovations. And on this, it's rare to find a contractor who takes such obvious pride in his work. Even more rare to find this in an owner, Francisco, who does the work himself, alongside a helper who also takes the time to do quality work. You can see this in the amount of time they spend on prep work, and attention to detail. Little things like floating low spots to ensure the floor is level, to putting up plastic around the work area to contain the dust. A true craftsman with years of experience. Francisco is not like other firms with front-office overhead and perhaps flashy marketing. Instead, you'll see him driving an old, work-horse of a van, as it's the job that really matters to him. I think Francisco's owner-as-worker business model gives him a competitive advantage in beating out other contractors, as he was the lowest bid on my glue-down hardwood floor job. His price introduced me to him. But his quality won me over. I've since had Francisco install new double doors for a home office, and will be using him for new countertops in the kitchen. My only regret is that I don't have more work, that I can send his way.

I am very impressed with the work H&S flooring performed on my kitchen floor. Francisco responds…read morequickly to requests, his prices are fair and he answered all my questions promptly. Francisco and his employee were professional, efficient and got right to work. They took out my old damaged plank flooring, a damaged portion of particle board and baseboards then installed new particle board, new LVP flooring and painted and installed new baseboards, they even applied touch up paint I requested to walls and left the place spotless. All work completely in less than estimated time ! I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend H & S Flooring.

Kitchen Mart - Sacramento kitchen remodel.

Just finished up a kitchen remodel with Kitchen Mart and couldn't be happier with the entire…read moreprocess! The designer (Susan Broaddus) was awesome and came up with a near-perfect design. I made a couple small tweaks but everything else was her execution of the concepts rolling around my brain, Pinterest pages, etc. One of the things that drew me to Kitchen Mart is that they do all the work in-house (i.e., no subcontractors). My project manager (Edgar Mendoza) was an awesome communicator with eMail, text messages, or calls on a regular basis and the KM team would call to remind me of project checkpoints (e.g., start of demo, inspections, etc.). The individual team leads were great as well, in regular contact, and receptive to questions or suggestions. From demo though construction, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, counters, and to final hookups, everything Kitchen Mart did was done with great care. I'd heard horror stories of change orders, etc. but my job only had three small change orders, one of which was my fault. Two of the change orders were actually credits and the third was to cover the cost of the inspections (which I was expecting since the actual cost isn't known up front). Even with a couple issues (neither their fault), they stuck to the schedule without exception and completed the job on the day promised. They were VERY clean and were even cleaning/dusting the floors *outside the construction* area on the last day. The quality of the cabinetry (KraftMade) and Kitchen Mart's craftmanship is exceptional. I was 110% happy with how everything turned out and wouldn't hesitate to use them for additional projects!

I found a before photo!! We still love the kitchen. The best…read morefeatures are the deep sink and the Cambria countertops. We also love the colors (painted cabinets by NHance).
