The Alex Theater is located inside The 9 Hotel and you do not have to be a hotel guest to attend a show at Alex Theater. Valet your car (it's just the easiest parking) and simply walk straight in to the elevators and click the call button for Alex Theater. The Alex Theater has a full bar (no snacks) and can seat about 100 people comfortably between the leather recliners and high-top tables that are sometimes assembled. The programming at the Alex is always five-stars. Check their website regularly and you'll see evenings for drag, live bands, magic shows, film events and more. I want to give kudos to the staff. A very annoying, obnoxiously drunk couple was next to us and ruining our experience. At intermission, we let the staff know and they discretely took care of the situation. The Alex is a classy place, and if I wanted a rowdy night out, I'd be at a college bar. A night out at the Alex Theater is always a fun experience and I can't recommend it enough!

Some of our concerns go to more managerial issues. As an example, the heat in our room did not work and our room was as cold as the outside. Being middle of January we were literally sitting in our rooms in hats, gloves and coats. The staff did bring up some space heaters to help raise the temperature, which eventually worked. The wine pairing dinner we attended was just ok, but at 70 dollars a person I would expect more than using small plastic cups for the pairings. The food itself was really good, so my compliments to the chef. If the room price was more reasonable and not 450 per night I would be less critical. The cost just didn't match the expectation

Our guess is that this has been a problem for a long time, considering the number of industrial fans they had running. The guests were doused in sweat, and sadly, by 6:00, most people had left. Unfortunately that's only the beginning of the experience for my family. How truly sad that on my cousin's special day, they celebrated without their guests due to the heat in the building. The bride got a room there the night before. The conditions were so deplorable she didn't stay, and they didn't stay their wedding night either (I believe). When all was said and done, my cousin posted a very honest review on their Facebook page, and the owner verbally attacked her on Facebook and made personal insults. Thankfully we took screenshots, because they somehow managed to hide her review and threatened to take them to court. Beware! This is not the place for your special event!I've never given a business such a poor review, but I'd be remiss if I didn't share our experience, especially having worked in the wedding industry for several years myself.
