I cannot give enough praise to this establishment. I spent a lot of time at Chives as a student at Mount Union. I knew turning 21 meant finally gaining access to Chives, but I didn't know it would mean I got a second family. The people are what make this place so meaningful. Beyond the food, which is really delicious and they always have specials. They have amazing bartenders with hearts of gold. The cooks prepare the food hot and fresh for every order, the waitresses always have a smile on their face (looking at you Amanda), and the vibes are always immaculate. Trivia night. We arrived 45.minutes early. No seats available for trivia. Waitress offered for us to wait until dinni g patrons left. Which we did. Bartender refused to serve us as he wss keeping 6 open seats at the bar.for his friends coming for trivia. Waitress did serve us and we were seated well before his friends arrived. Not a good way to expect return patrons. Food in past has b een good. That and trivia is why we came back tonight. read more

Our go to place. Ownership is great. Staff is tremendous. Home of the dollar fifty cheeseburger on Saturdays and 5 dollar pepperoni pizza on Sundays. All of their food we've tried has been beyond excellent. Stop in when you have a chance, you won't regret it read more

Usually good, tonight was awful... It too well over 40 minutes to get a burger and a beef stew, and by the time my burger got to the table, the fries were cold. The burger was way over-seasoned as well, and the beef stew, apparently a left-over from St Patrick's Day. Was average at best.. Very disappointing for a place we usually like and that has great pork chops.... Service was apparently slow due to a waitress leaving sick, but it should not impact kitchen service... read more

There's nothing fantastic about this place. They have a decent beer selection. A mostly younger crowd hangs out here. Mixed drinks are hit or miss, depends on the bartender. The music is best when Andy is the DJ. read more

This place has the best beer selection in Alliance. $3.50 for craft beers. Not bad at all! The food is so so. The apps are all pretty much frozen into the fryer things. Southwest egg rolls,wing dings, clam strips... I've only tried a few entrees. The fried chicken is frozen prepared bird. Not great. The 2.99 chili dog is not bad. 1/4 pound dog with a good deal of chili. Nice patio in the summer. read more

Horrible food. Horrible name. Horrendous Service. Please do yourself a favor and never go to $1 Burger Night. I wouldn't pay ONE RED CENT for that thin patty again... Had this establishment be placed in any other location in the world, it would be shut down within weeks...HOWEVER, that is not the case. The fact of the matter is Chives is the ONLY and I mean only bar, for college students to "turn up" on a Thursday through Saturday night, in the small town of Alliance, OH. That is sole factor that keeps this place afloat and to me is a bit sad. HOWEVER, with that being said...... as a student of the culture, I have to take what I can get. Had issues with our order and then after my card was taken for the bill it took 20 mins and me saying something to get it back. When we left no tip cause of the major inconvenience the red haired waitress chased us out the door bitching and carry on about no tip. I will not be back and will advise all not to go. read more

This is a local dive bar. Emphasis on "dive". Took my wife for a date night. Had the worst salmon I've ever had. Vegetables looked boiled and rubber. Salad was not picked through to get the rotten out. My wife ordered a burger well done (which is a sin on its own) but received it medium rare inside burnt outside. This would be a perfect restaurant for Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare's...but Ramsey would not be able to save it. read more

The best thing about this bar is the outdoor patio area. It's a nice place to hang out with friends in the summer. They have a large beer selection, an a decent wine selection. Sometimes they have drink specials. The food is lackluster. Most of it is from a fryer. There are a couple good things on the menu. It's all great, after you've had a couple beers. Wait staff is inattentive, even when they're slow. Bartenders are friendly do a good job, whether they are slow or busy. read more

I wish I could give this place five stars but I can't because of the ambiance. They have a huge selection of alcoholic drinks. Their chicken ceasar salad is one of the best I have ever eaten. I suppose this place is a matter of taste, I can understand why someone might call it divey. The selection of alcohol is pretty average, though the prices are cheap. Seriously, this is the best kept secret in town. The food is soooo good. Everything I have tried is fantastic. and the Chef has some crazy creations like BLT Hotdog. The Salmon was delish the hamburg fantastic, the pizza on thursday is soooo yummy.
