I started with the cancellation process. I explained to the representative who was perhapsone of the NICEST customer service people I had ever come across our situation, our age (seniors both), the pricing alternative offered by Verizon and within minutes, he applied loyalty rewards to lower our bill to less than what Verizon would charge for the new service. When I called to cancel they told me I was in a 2 year contract and they had the ability to raise my price but I can't leave their service. So basically they can break a price agreement but I'm stuck using a company that doesn't care about their customers until after their second year. I got $15 off my monthly fee for being a second year customer after I was paying quite a bit less last year... Woohoo... After that phone call my package was changed without my authorization or without even talking to me about what that representative was going to do, so I spent another 20 minutes on the phone correcting that mistake. Yes, I like to watch tv, but it's not worth it when there are so many other options today.
