But each time after that it was just sad. The grands lived up in NE Texas so of course we were required to stop for the kids if they were in the truck. The last sandwich I had was a soggy mess on what looked like bread but tasted like cotton balls. Those nuggets reminded me a lot like Crunch n Munch but with a horrible aftertaste even their weak "coffee" couldn't wash away. It's been years since we've been back so I don't know if it's still true but it seemed to me those times that the greater portion of their branded merchandise and other "Texas" souvenirs were made in China. Some of the best prices in the triangle…read more That's a term I made up to describe the area of Texas most commonly traversed... the triangle between Austin, Dallas and Houston. Poor San Antonio. Such a logical point of this triangle and forever left out of the national psyche. This Shell station is part of the Woody's Smokehouse Empire. They almost always have gas that is $0.10 or even 20 to 25 cents cheaper than all of the stations up and down the highway. They also caused the Chevron across the street to have really low gas prices. They have plenty of pumps on both sides of the highway and it's hard not to give them 5 stars.

They have a Starbucks on the premises and my husband got a coffee to go. I used the rest room. The bathroom is usually very clean, but think there was a bad smell in there yesterday. The cleaning crew was in there, so maybe they would have taken care of the smell too if I have been there a while Later. They have lots of the usual stop n go stuff for sale candy, fountain drinks and coffee. But what caught my eye were these cute animal booty/non skid slippers. They were so cute -wolf ones, bear ones and others including college team inspired ones. Wish I had had my camera with me when I saw them.

This was a perfectly normal gas station which is kind of in the middle of the country and looks pretty new and I was glad that it was here. They even have self check out registers!! Gas is priced on par with everyone else. The whole establishment is clean and organized. This is a nice gas station option that I will be sure to hit from now on.
