Every course of the meal was delicious and exquisitely presented. My dad had a perfect 90th birthday celebration and we are very thankful to Chef Koji and Cecilia.

Review on our Private Chef experience I contacted Chef Koji via their website and booked him for a small dinner party of 6 adults celebrating a great friend's 50th birthday. Not only did he accommodate us despite the short notice (about 1.5 weeks) he even secured fresh Sanma from Japan and upgraded our sashimi course. On top of that, one of our guests was vegan, the chef went above and beyond again and created a menu just for her! I didn't expect him to be able to do that since Japanese food typically uses a lot of seafood based ingredients so we were very grateful. He and his wonderful partner Cecilia showed up on time, brought everything they needed and asked nothing from us. Each course was fabulous from start to finish and everyone was blown away by this experience. We will definitely be having them back in the future! Thank you Chef Koji and Cecelia!

We did a special order for Mother's Day. After a couple emails, we finalized the order: a vegetarian bento for myself, and also a 10 inch wagyu cake to celebrate Mother's Day. I loved my bento! The pickled tomato and side salads were very fresh and tasty. The rice was well cooked, and the tempura was very crisp too! They had a very thin coating and kept the freshness and the juice of the veggies inside. The wagyu cake was good too, according to my partner. The beef was cooked perfectly and the rice was seasoned well with furikake. Would definitely recommend ordering from Koshin

Had a lovely home dinner for my husbands birthday through Koshin Bento personal chef services. The menu was excellent and every course was delicious. I had the best steak I've ever had during this dinner. Overall great service and communication throughout the whole process. The prep area was spotless after. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Cute little spot in a food court area. Ordering a day in advance is usually cheaper and they don't do same day orders.

I had a really nice chat with one of the owners there and they all seem like really lovely people--kind hearted with little kids around so hopefully they stay around for some time! They were still redoing the front of house so not sure when they will open fully but looking forward to trying more Azerbaijan food. Since I've never had Azerbaijan food before, I asked for a recommendation and he said all of the food is good but did say that the chicken shawarma was big and I was feeling a bit hungry so went with that. It came with fries and some peppers, which reminded me of banana peppers. Not spicy with a briney taste to it, great accompaniment. He also tossed in this yogurt drink (I didn't get the name) that was tasty. Overall, good food and will be back to try their lamb kebabs and the burger as well and interested to see what their pizzas will be like as well. Love seeing small family businesses like this and hope they do well!

This is their most recommended dish and for good reason. Side of fries were nice and crispy too: I also tried the grilled chicken plate and that was pretty good as well. Again, good portion! On my first visit, they offered a drink for free and I tasted the Ayran (yogurt based drink). Friendly people. Next time, I'll try the Baku Chicken sandwich. Btw, it's in a small parking lot next to a restaurant, and you should have parking spots at the back. There always seems to be a decent crowd occupying the tables near the food truck.

It's great to see a new cuisine in the area. Given that Azerbaijan sits close to Iran, Turkey, and…read moreRussia , it's not surprising that the food reflects a beautiful blend of those influences, but with its own unique flavors and identity. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed warmly. The server and manager were attentive without being intrusive, checking in at just the right times and making sure we were enjoying everything. We really liked the food: Piti and Shah Plov, The trio appetizer, baklava and a compote drink. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and we'll definitely be coming back.

I first discovered this restaurant when I saw that they replaced the space of Amber Cafe…read more Initially, I didn't give them much thought but then after passing by the restaurant several times as it's right by my apartment, I looked them up and saw that they were Azerbaijani cuisine. I always have an extra desire to go to a restaurant representing a cuisine that I have never tried and as such, I decided to visit with my parents. We shared several items including the eggplant roll, hummus, the eggplant and lentil soups, the gurza, the lule kebab, and piti. Azerbaijan is a country that sits right near Turkey and Iran, which makes perfect sense because the best way I can describe Azerbaijan cuisine is a hybrid of the other two. The eggplant roll was phenomenal, which truly surprised me as I am usually not the biggest fan of eggplant. The gurza was pretty nice and reminded me of the traditional Turkish manti ravioli only more dumpling-like. The soups, kebab and hummus were also pretty tasty. I need to say that I am fairly picky about hummus as I make my own pretty well but theirs was very well balanced and flavorful. The piti was a little disappointing. It honestly seemed like a dish that would have blown me away as its comprised of so many of my favorite ingredients such as lamb and chickpeas but the broth was quite bland. I've noticed that other Yelpers have mentioned the same critique so I'm honestly not sure if it's intentionally meant to be that way. In all honesty, I would have probably given this place a perfect rating of five stars if it weren't for this one item. The honey cake at the end was excellent and a great way to wrap up the meal. Their wine list was interesting as it featured wines from the region and surrounding areas. I always appreciate restaurants that go the extra mile to have their beverage program represent their cuisine to provide a true regional experience. Apparently some of the wines traditionally use clay plots as a part of the fermentation process. I personally didn't have any but I tasted a little from my parents and it was surprisingly pretty good for a relatively unknown wine region. I feel fairly petty on the fact that I am knocking off a star simply because one dish wasn't that impressive but unfortunately, five stars for me means a flawless experience. Nevertheless I am really happy to see an underrepresented cuisine featured here in Mountain View. I also want to make it clear that I probably will be back and this place has definitely qualified as a great "neighborhood restaurant" for me.

Having someone to do menu planning and grocery shopping was a huge time saver and ensured that we had home-cooked meals to eat rather than falling back to ordering takeout every night. Johanna provided a wide variety in her meals. Most menus came directly from her, but sometimes I would request certain types of food or specific dishes she had made in the past that were our favorites. Johanna tailored her menus to meet my dietary restrictions (low saturated fat). She always left the kitchen clean with clear instructions for the meals and even some cooking tips along the way! My (now) husband is a severe Celiac and so making sure all food is completely Gluten-free was the number one concern. The Chef was quick to respond and so helpful in brainstorming a potential menu for the event (we settled on Mexican). She then got started on putting together the recipes and gathering the proposed ingredient list. This is where the Chef went above and beyond for us-she sent us the full recipes and proposed ingredients(down to the specific brands) so that we could ensure that everything was free from gluten and free from cross-contamination (a shocking amount of spices are processed on the same equipment as wheat). She even was able to find a way to make gluten free Tres Leches and Tiramisu (our favorites). For our wedding cakes! Menu: Crudités with Green Goddess Dip Queso Fundido with Chorizo Pico de Gallo Chopped Salad Chili Verde Stew Slow Cooked Barbocoa Tacos Roasted Zucchini Sweet Bell Pepper Rice Spicy Citrus Black Beans Tres Leches with strawberries Tiramisu Preparation: The chef packaged up all of our food so that my sister could pick it up and transport it (our venue was 4 hours north of the bay). She provided detailed instructions for reheating the food and prepping the cakes. She even made sure we would have any additional utensils that would be necessary. She gave me an accurate and in-depth invoice that broke down the expenses and made it easy to work into our wedding budget. Food: WOW WOW WOW! The best part (obviously) was the food! Everything was fresh and vibrant and so so delicious! The Queso provided the best cheese pull I have ever seen and my husband and I are still drooling over that Tres Leches and my family keeps bringing up how incredible the dinner was! Additionally my husband was able to freely eat everything to his hearts content, confident that he wouldn't become ill on our special day. I cannot recommend Chef Johanna enough!!
