The chicken was delicious. Spaghetti was perfectly cooked and the rice was well spiced. This was round 1.

What great food and great people. Eli and his mom are wonderful hosts. I love how you walk in and are treated like family... The good cousins that invite you over and feed you. Usually too much, but they care enough to talk and get to know you. If you feel like home cooked meal, come to the buffet. You will walk away happy, full and with a smile on your face. Also, the place is a great deal too.

They have got candy too! I like the service and the food was delicious, as in, hec' of zesty flavor and layers. The food is light yet very fulfilling.

Chicken, rice, spaghetti, and a few things I can't name!

I tried this place today. Although I admit I was somewhat hesitant, but the lady here told me to eat and told me to pay at the end if I enjoyed her food. Well, my verdict is she rocks! My review is based ONLY on her food, because the place itself is not very pretty, it is all self serve (so don't go in thinking you will be waited on- it's just NOT going to happen.) It is pretty obvious that her specialty is catering, which she pretty much has nailed. I paid $10 and tried everything! Although the spaghetti was like a big whatever, it did not dissuade me from trying the rest! I am guessing she changes her menu somewhat regularly so I will totally be back for more!

The Mini falafels come with 8 and are bite size on the tahini plate- I loved putting all the tahini on it. The Charred broccoli was exactly what I wanted, it's crispy and comes with a lemon garlic aioli. The Maghrebi potatoes come in thick, crispy slices on pickled lemon red pepper tahini. The Shawarma oyster mushrooms also another hit. We also ordered flat bread special which was feta & pomegranate seeds. Overall I was just so impressed with every dish. For dessert we ordered the halva & S'mores bourekas which was light & not overly sweet for a finish. Parking- street parking

This review is long overdue because I first fell in love with Mazal as I impatiently anticipated their opening. I lived nearby and watched the progress as the owner and his father spent nearly two years building out the beautiful interior of the restaurant themselves. Everything about Mazal is a labor of love involving their entire family, including menu items that are grown in their orchard. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, whether you are in the dining room or on the patio. I'm back in LA frequently now and come to Mazal nearly every time. In addition to the hummus you have to have spicy tahini (or the new-to-me adorable mini falafel and tahini plate). My other new favorite I'll definitely have again is the shawarma oyster mushrooms, air-fried and served on cannellini bean purée with mint chimichurri. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious. You don't want to miss the bourekas (the assortment of five cheese bourekas is something I dream about), the maghrebi potatoes (on tahini!), and the marble halva (take it home if you don't have room after all of the aforementioned must-haves and thank me later).

Going in we were going over order with the intent to bring food home just so we could taste more items on the menu. Started with FIORI DI ZUCCA which are squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta deep fried in a batter. Each bite was so delicious, a good amount of ricotta, and each bite was still super crispy. We also got XXTRA PEPPERONI LOVERS Pinsa. Crust was doughy yet crisp, not greasy at all I would just the right amount of cheese and sauce. So we knew that we would be full, but we wanted to try a couple pastas one red sauce, and one white sauce. The CACIO E PEPE I just the right amount of pepper and creamy sauce, noodles cooked perfectly. PAPPARDELLE ALLA VACCINARA was definitely my favorite, noodles in a braised oxtail ragu. Service was on point, checked on his frequently, but didn't rush us, even though the restaurant was super busy, and just overall very friendly. We would definitely go back to try more entrées and even get the pallardelle again with the squash blossoms. You have to pay for valet in the front but I would rather do that than to worry about parking.

Some of the servers have been there awhile and they know everything and if you are looking for other Kosher places or even a Temple if you are a visitor, they have you covered. The servers are always smiling and are great with kids. It is super family friendly. We love all their food, but a must have is their Matza Ball soup. Their Shakshukah is a great way to start your morning. It is a wonderful breakfast item. It comes with eggs and salad with a great home made tomato sauce. They also have just eggs if you want. For lunch we love the Israeli Vegetables Salad, which has Finely cut assorted vegetables with lemon dressing, tomatoes and cucumber. It is the bomb. If you want to be daring, get their combination salad, which is a combination of all their salads. It is so good. Their Humus is great and has a wonderful lemon juice and olive oil.
