so lets get the obvious out the way, the staff is full of women that are too pretty so im sure many think thats why the reviews are good but im too old and senile to fall for that. this place is legit. i picked anna because of my schedule and reading the reviews. she was fantastic, professional, knowledgeable and really bright actually. however i know they have 2 locations and my schedule can be crazy so my plan is to try out as many of the staff as possible since they all have great reviews. However if anna is free i would absolutely have no issues going back to her. shampoo lady was fantastic. i almost fell asleep during the shampooing. if you are walking uphill to the place (door being on the right), there is an open parking structure on the street right before. if you are late your ticket is $20 not that i know. read more

I'm struggling to write this review because there are a lot of things that factor into my rating, but I'm going to try to boil it down. When I left I'm Sergio I thought I was just disappointed with having short hair as I prefer to have long hair. So I waited a few days, but I'm still pretty disappointed. I came in with long hair and a bunch of cowlicks and requested short but not buzzed sides with some additional length on top. I provided an example and my stylist went to work with clippers. After uncovering and cutting out an enormous number of cowlicks, I ended up with buzzed sides and the top was shorter than I wanted. At one point I had some hope that it would be salvageable, but when the second stylist stepped in to help, I realized too late that she didn't know the style I had discussed with my original stylist. The staff was apologetic and acknowledged that this wasn't their best work, and offered a discount despite the fact that I didn't complain. Maybe I chose a style that didn't suit my difficult hair. Also, I understand that people have off days and for all of these reasons I'm giving a middle of the road rating of three stars. UPDATE: It's be a while (about 18 months) and a few cuts at other establishments since my visit to I'm Sergio. I wanted to get some perspective, and after quite a few bad cuts, I got it. I can safely say that the cut I received at I'm Sergio, while a bit shorter than I had originally planned, was better than my initial rating. As I said in my original review, there was a point during the process that I was satisfied with the way things looked. I should have said so and I would have been much happier. You truly feel pampered throughout your time in the shop. Vesna is my stylist and therefore I'm partial to her. She really personalizes the experience for every client. Stylish Place to Get a Trim I decided to check out I'm Sergio after looking for a place to get a more contemporary cut and I have to say I was not disappointed. My stylist, Amanda, was attune to what I was looking for and had great attention to detail for a pretty nuanced hairstyle. The shop itself is modern looking with a fair amount of space. It was pretty packed for a Tuesday evening when I went, but I was seen quickly even though I had been running a bit late due to traffic. Beverages are offered with a cut, and I was surprised to see they even had beer on tap, definitely can't complain about that. I got a basic cut, shampoo and style for $28. Definitely a reasonable price for a step up from Supercuts. Overall really pleased with my experience, would definitely recommend checking it out if you want to level up your hair game. read more

Came here with my mentally handicapped child. Worst worst experience ever. The stylist proceeded to tell my daughter that my son had lice and she did not want him in salon. If His hair wasn't already washed I would have walked right out. Needless to say she realized it was dry skin but was completely non apologetic. Really awful experience I want to add that once the manager and owner were made aware of the situation they were gracious and apologetic. In the many cuts I have gotten at I'm Sergio in conshy and downtown Philly, I have never been seated late or left late. Anna and Alyssa are my go-to stylists, but You can't go wrong with any stylist. They are all amazing. Consistent, Quality, on-trend, high end cuts that you can definitely see and feel a difference with. Good high end products and relaxing shampoo/scalp massage. I've been going to Denise and taking my sons to her for years now. No other hair stylist can do what she does for us. I love that she takes her time to understand what look we're trying to accomplish and then makes sure that we look great. The atmosphere inside is great as well. With the complimentary drinks (alcoholic, soft, and coffee), I've never felt rushed or unwelcome here. We moved from the 'burbs to the City a couple years ago and I still choose to make the 30-45 minute drive because the experience is worth the effort. read more

Men and haircuts. Two things that typically go together as a tuxedo with a brown pair of shoes. Face it, if you're a guy, or the significant other for the guy in your life, you have to deal with getting your haircut. And I'm sure that you see plenty of ads on TV for chain places that take care of men's needs. That's all well and good, until you arrive and find toddlers and small children screaming in the lobby. I'm Sergio is a men's salon the capitalizes on Men's Grooming with their fantastic atmosphere, great service, and embrace of technology. Atmosphere - Walking into I'm Sergio, you get a mix of men's salon with high end fashion. White leather couches and a white counter greet you when you first check in. You have a choice between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages here while you wait for your stylist. An assortment of men's magazines (think Maxim, not Playboy) are available to read, as well as a few TV's with some sporting events on. When being groomed, large silver mirrors and comfortable stylist chairs help keep you comfortable, and a great shampoo/rinse/hot towel private station helps you relax and enjoy your experience. Staff - THIS, is what makes I'm Sergio different from the many salons and men's places out there. Sergio has hired not only the most professional stylists to work in his salon, but has also hired ones with great personality and attitude as well. As someone who is VERY selective about their haircut, it takes a lot for me to get comfortable and find someone who knows how to properly give a great cut, but my stylist Anya does an amazing job of using the deft skill of a professional stylist, while keeping things engaging and fun on a conversational level. Many of the other stylist I observe while I'm there do a great job, but it's Anya's personality and professionalism that keep me coming back. Intangibles - The table when you walk in seems to have a lot of clutter, between men's magazines mixed with advertisements on flyers for local events. They should really have a 'Community Board' or something to post these types of things, rather then just leave them on the table. The hot towel/neck shave it with a straight razor here which makes a huge difference when getting a professional cut. This salon also allows me to use my smartphone to book appointments, change appointments, and confirm my appointments without having to use an app, which is very convenient if you're a tech nerd like I am. Great for guys in the wedding party with the groom, or for that big job interview you have coming up. Overall - I'm Sergio is a fantastic, highly recommended shop to get your haircut in the Philly suburbs. The only thing possibly missing here is a bar to sit at while waiting to get your haircut, but otherwise, has all the bells and whistles you could want in your grooming experience. If you're new to the area and looking for a place to try, this would be the first stop on my list. read more

I have gone to a couple of the different stylist and they are all professional and always do a great job. The place is nice, the barbers are nice. I don't know if it was a bad day; or, just lack of experience. I requested a haircut, and beard sculpting. This was supposed to be a 40 minute session. First, I requested a skin fade, the barber didn't know what a skin fade was; so, I showed her a picture of what I wanted. Then she asked what number to use for the lower part of the fade. A skin fade is not a number, it is a SKIN fade. Then, when I told her I want a hard part, she tried to tell me that I didn't want it and tried to talk me out of it. Finally I convinced her (and myself) again that I did in fact want it and she half assed it with the clippers instead of cutting it in with a straight razor. The fade had a distinct line going around my head when I looked at it later. And was only done with a 0 on the clippers. Again, not a skin fade. Then, she asked about what to do with my beard. I told her that I just want it cleaned up and shaped. And I usually square it. First thing she does is take a comb and clippers and takes off almost 2" of my beard. She didn't trim or shape it one bit. She just did what she wanted. Next, she didn't shape or line up my hairline or beard in any way with the straight razor. Very very disappointed considering this place is expensive for a barber shop. The cut was amateur at best. Also, it was done in 20 minutes total for beard shaping, fade, and shampoo. Had she taken her time, and used the entire 40 minutes that I had requested, it could have been much better. I will not be going back to this place. For the cut, hair Cuttery or best cuts would have been better. I give them 2 stars because the shampooer was personable and nice and took her time and asked if the water was too hot or too cold. Beware if you are looking for a decent barber style cut. It is just a bunch of hair Cuttery stylists that are not trained to be a good barber. read more

She has a way to make every customer feel special. She can talk about any subject matter while you relax in her chair. Just got "the cut" from Cheryl and it was a great experience. Definitely worth it. The decor was very modern and guy-friendly, awesome colors and comfortable furniture. I got asked if I wanted a beverage multiple times and everyone was very talkative and friendly. The head massage and warm towel was a great way to start, and then Cheryl took over and gave me an all around great haircut. It looks awesome and she is working to undo some of the things that my other haircuts have done wrong. A great way to start a Saturday and will definitely be going back. read more

While I was at work yesterday my 15 year old (special needs) son wanted to get his hair cut at his usual haunt. He has homecoming tonight and desperately needed it done, however he only had $18.00 on him. He doesn't know what a hair cut cost as I always go with him. The ladies at I'm Sergio took my son and cut his hair magnificently as they always do. Charged him $12.00 and he tipped two girls $3.00 each. My heart was so full of joy when I woke up this morning and he told me what they had done. What a wonderful gesture of kindness. I will call today and pay for his hair cut and tip appropriately. When I asked my son his stylists name he said "Mom I don't know I can only remember how kind she was" Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this momma tear up on a beautiful Saturday morning. First time there; greeted at the door and asked if I wanted a beverage. A beverage? I must be in the wrong place. That's just the tip of the iceberg amongst many other nuances that make "I'm Sergio" in a league of its own. Stephanie was my stylist and she is an expert at what she does.
