The only bad incident that we had was when we bought a large container of pepperoncinis a week ago that were on the shelf next to the freezers with a little dust on it, their color all looked a little off but "wasnt expired" so we bought one. We had it immediately opened when we got home. Upon tasting one, they tasted way to soft (like they were going soggy, but wasnt) and the flavor was off. My husband happened to notice and pointed out that there was indeed "mold" under the paper seal which wasnt tampered. I would get the others on the shelf tossed for future reference so another health safety concern happens again. Besides that incident, Tru Buy is a great family friendly place to shop at.

We go through a fair amount of produce each week, so when I heard about Wayne's I decided to give it a try - hoping for both better prices and better quality. I was totally blown away! It's incredibly well-kept and well-organized, and they have a ton of items that IGA doesn't. My favorite part is the "value bags" they have available - for just $19.95, you get a reusable tote bag filed with all types of fruits and vegetables. Check out the photo I uploaded... you won't believe how much I actually got for the price! It made us try new things we don't always eat, too. They also have a butcher attached, fresh local eggs, dairy, and more. One thing to note: if you're using a credit card, it does have to be for over $15. I'm so happy to have found this place and I look forward to stopping by as much as I can!

The steaks and hamburgers are very lean and better too, but again the brats are the real deal and main reason to come here. Everything out there is frozen, which some people wont like. However they dont use preservatives, MSG, colors, artificial junk etc. ( which is a big thank you to the processing plant in Carlyle more than those who actually grow the livestock). All the other processor of meats around Highland, ( Korte, Grantfork, the one in Albers, etc. )will add all kinds of crazy stuff (especially to pork, just read the labels if you are brave). Anyways, Im rambling now but this is a great place to find meats locally from healthy livestock you can see roaming around on the grounds. If only there was a similar place for Chicken and Turkey.

Then i was given a 2 month timeframe which turned into 4 months...then i was given 20 pounds of deer sticks not in air sealed packagings. Finally, the deer sticks were super dry and not very good. The deer bacon was good. Frustrating first experience with them.
