Woohoo!!!!…read more Woohooooooo!!! They get the extra o's woohoo at Schneiders. If you're a meat lover, this place is a must see. They must have 30 variations of brats in their freezer, both pork and chicken varieties. We asked a couple of people for their opinions, then went with the Hot Buffalo Chicken and Garlic Parmesan Chicken brats. They were both very delicious, delivered on flavor and kick (for the Buffalo) while also providing an nice lean meat alternative. This is especially awesome if you're going low carb - it add variety to your life. They have a huge case full of beautiful fresh meats, including everyday style sausages, but the more exotic flavors are all in the freezer. The lady behind the counter said put them in water for 10 minutes before you cook them and they're good to go. We put our two packs in the fridge overnight and they were ready to throw on the grill. Very friendly, super clean and well organized. They have an interesting selection of smoked meats, a big selection of bbq and other marinating sauces, some misc groceries and a small assortment of local produce. It's maybe 15 minutes beyond the JB bridge, a few miles south of Columbia. Be careful about your speed through Columbia, btw. I speak from experience.

Shelves are faced and full with unique, intriguing meat market driven products including a few decent selection of sundry products to fill a light shopping list. IMO though after purchasing almost $100 in steaks, pork and sausage products was disappointed with the quality at the plate. The thick cut pork chop were great, juicy and filled a large diner appetite. However the thick cut porterhouse, costing $27 was tuff when cooked to MMR, this was a big downer we had expected a whole lot more. the Link breakfast sausage was under seasoned it left us thinking it didn't bring anything special to the breakfast meal. We do expect to give you folks another try in the future. Thank you for the opportunity to experience your store.

But on a recent visit, I was there when a young man came in to drop off an application. He was neat and well-groomed, but he had long hair. The owner took his application and berated him -- that's really the only word I can use -- on his hair and told him he'd have to cut his hair before he'd even consider hiring him. The boy acknowledged that he'd do it if he was hired, thanked the owner, and left. And this is why I'm writing my review -- once the boy left, and he couldn't have been more than 16 or 17 so literally just a kid, the owner began mocking him and talking about how he'd never have such a "trash excuse for a human being working behind MY counter and representing MY business." I might understand that kind of attitude had he been talking about a particularly disheveled and sloppy person, but this was literally just a kid with long hair. He was wearing pressed pants and a polo shirt. He was neat and clean. He was completely respectful in all his interactions with the owner from the time he arrived until the time he left. There was absolutely no reason to talk about him like that -- *especially considering this was just a kid. The trash talk did not end there, but since my order was complete and I'd paid, I left while he was still ranting to anyone who'd listen -- customers and employees alike. As much as I've made the Farmer's Market a part of my life all these years, that is the last visit I will ever make. I get that he's the owner and can make whatever choices and decisions he wants, but to be so grossly unprofessional like that and about a KID who is looking for a JOB and not being the least bit rude to him at all? Yeah, I'll take my business elsewhere, thanks.

And it has been a joy to watch. -They are refurbishing the outside last, so don't let the old sign and tattered exterior fool you. Inside, magic is happening! -Where to start? They have an excellent salad bar. Wonderful fresh sushi. An amazing variety of wines. The town's wonderful florist shop is now moved into the building. They have dry cleaning drop off and pickup. A deli with hot food and everything a good deli needs. -Betty Ann Market just meets every qualification for a major modern supermarket, and it is here in our little town! -I try to do all my shopping there because: it is a wonderful store with everything you need at great prices, they are truly GOOD people with smiling small town spirits, and I want to support my local community. -Instead of driving half an hour away (and then back again) we have a major modern supermarket right here, just a few minutes away! (How much is an hour total travel time AND gas worth in this day and age?). So, THAT is something that we should support! -One final note: I'm a disabled veteran and I shop with my service dog, and the kindness everyone always shows to me has absolutely won my loyalty! -My service dog, Charley, sez: "Betty Ann Market!
