I have had previous experience with Avi, who performed a very thorough inspection on my house. My son is looking at houses now, and I recommended thi firm. Michael performed an inspection of a house my son was thinking of buying. Michael did a fine job of looking at all of the high risk areas (mold, structural deficiencies, etc.) and explained them to my son and myself in easily understandable terms. The resulting report was exceptionally detailed and covered a good deal of areas. This provided my son with the knowledge to make an informed decision on this house. Although my son chose to pass on the house, he has every intention of using this firm for all of his future inspections. Exceptional people! read more

We used Korine Associates a few weeks ago on a house we are interested in purchasing based on a recommendation from a friend. Avi spent the time after the inspection to walk us through EVERYTHING which I hear not all inspectors do. He not only pointed out what needed to be fixed but recommendations on how to go about it. Avi was looking out for our best interest at every step. It shows how much pride he takes in his company. His report and pictures are incredibly thorough. We received an email copy and then one in the mail a few days later. Definitely recommend. read more

We are so great full for the help and expertise of Susan and Avi at Korine Associates. Avi provided a structural engineering inspection to investigate and address issues we had been having with water coming into our basement, as well as some cracks in our foundation. He examined the entire house to be able to provide us an extremely comprehensive summary of the areas of concern. He provided a detailed report of his findings and spent time on the phone going over it and answering all questions. He went above and beyond to answer follow-up we had after getting some estimates for repair. We feel so lucky to have had his extremely knowledgeable and unbiased input. If you are looking to purchase a home, you should absolutely hire Korine Associates for a home inspection to be sure you are aware of all strengths or weakness of your potential purchase. You will be so glad you did!! read more

We recently had an inspection on a house we are interested in buying. Avi was our inspector and he was so thorough and helpful. He listened to any questions we had throughout the course of the inspection and gave helpful feedback. At the end he gave us a thorough oral report while he walked us throughout the house and property. He pointed out things we didn't notice despite seeing the house 2x. We received a very detailed written report within 2 days. In addition, any time we have had questions since, he and his office are always very prompt in getting back to us. We have had experiences with other inspectors but none have really felt as thorough as Avi. My dad, brother, and sister in law have all kept his info. I can't say enough that if you are looking for an inspector, Avi is the guy for you! read more

Thank you Michael and all the Korin inspection team The first inspection was done on a total renovated house that looked great and our offer was excepted . During the inspection Michael found an excessive moist and wetness in the crawl space that wasn't take care by the sellers. Along with damage couse by termites we were smartly advice to give up this house. Couple of weeks later we found our dream home. This time around the inspection done by Michael again confirmed our good feeling about this house and with minor things to take care of we are in a contract now. The reports are coming in a very detailed along with pictures and very clear understanding of what house condition is and what need to be repaired. Peace of mind that what we got from the Korin crow. If you need a home inspection for us there is no other choice! Avi will not disappoint. read more

Just had Michael inspect a house we're looking at yesterday. He was incredibly thorough and communicative and gave us a verbal report while walking us through parts of the house. We can't recommend them enough! read more

Avi is the best! I've used him twice to inspect homes I was considering. He was always professional, patient with questions and knowledgeable. In the first house, he noticed evidence of significant termite damage that he estimated could cost $100,000+ in repairs. The owners said everything was fine. Even though it broke our hearts, we decided not to move forward with that house. Good thing - we learned that the new owners uncovered "significant termite damage" (as Avi had warned us) and had rip off the whole back of the house and gut the inside of the house too. We are so grateful for Avi's knowledge, expertise and direct advice. read more

Avi has done four NYC co-op apartment inspections for us over the past several years. We are so lucky to have found him! Avi is an engineer (with a Master's degree in his field - not *just* an inspector!) that has extensive expertise in all areas of building/home/apartment construction and maintenance. He is supremely thorough and gives advice with confidence and backs it up with data either from measurements (infrared scans, electrical measurements, and the like) and/or from his decades of experience with past inspections. Avi and his company also provide excellent customer service - they return phone calls and emails promptly, and have worked with us to make Avi available quickly and within the narrow time frames afforded by our busy schedules and inspection site availability, even on weekends. We could not be more satisfied with Avi and his company, and would never buy another apartment without his input! read more

I used Avi from Korine Associates to purchase a home in Woodbury in May 2014. He seemed quite pleasant and qualified upon meeting him, but he was recommended by the sellers real estate broker. This was my first home purchase, shame on me for not catching this conflict of interest. The house was a large older home that I knew needed some renovations. The most obvious was the heating system, which Avi agreed needed to be updated. Avi provided a very detailed report after his inspection, highlighting some common potential problems. The inspection occurred when there was snow on the ground, and Avi did not go on the roof, but took pictures and returned another time for better lighting/no snow. Avi let the home owner follow him around, and I suspect may have played a role in the following 'misses', either due to incompetence or bribery, both reprehensible, if not criminal. To make an extremely long and awful story short, the bottom line is I would never trust Avi to do any engineer report for anyone, unless you are the seller of a disastrous property trying to hide something and be lucky enough to 'recommend' him. 1. He missed clear water damage in the basement that had been occurring for years, indicating a current flood problem still existed. (I had a subsequent engineer come back after discovering many, many problems that Avi missed). 2. He missed a shower that leaks into the entry hall of the floor below. 3. He missed that multiple chimney's do not have proper (or any!) caps. 4. He missed termite damage that had occurred in the kitchen and was visible from the basement ceiling with a flashlight. 5. He missed recent animal droppings under the dishwasher, visible by flashlight (discovered after a chipmunk was found in our kitchen scurrying under the dishwasher). 6. He missed a hole in the roof where flying squirrels had accessed and lived in the attic. 3 were caught with traps that we placed after we heard noise in the attic. I emailed Avi these specific issues with pictures and videos to support the claims. The company refused to reimburse me their fee and showed me the liability waiver I signed in regards to their own liability. Incredible, but the list actually goes on. Words of advice if you are a buyer: STAY AWAY from Avi at Korine Home Inspectors. read more

Avi from Korine Associates conducted an inspection for us and he was very thorough. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a detailed verbal report at the site of the house, walked through the whole house and yard after he finished his survey. The written report was submitted the next day. I had some questions and sent an email, they called me back the same day and answered all my questions. Very responsive and quick! Great experience. read more

My sister recently used their services and highly recommended Avi. I decided to go with Avi to inspect a potential new home. They were very accommodating as it was done on short notice. He was extremely thorough in his assessment. He took his time walking through the house and then walked it again with me while giving me a great and detailed report on every inch of the house. He is extremely knowledgeable and for the price they charge his assessment is well worth it. I couldn't of been more satisfied with their services and if I ever need to use a home inspector again I will 100% use them. On a side note, the office staff is very friendly and they follow up with reminders which is much appreciated. Their written report came less than 24 hours later and just like the verbal report was very detailed. read more

I recently used Korine Associates for a home inspection report before purchase. I worked directly with Avi Korine and from the beginning he was professional, thorough and covered all bases from foundation to roof. He came , spent an entire day inspecting the property. He went through every nook and cranny of the home and picked up on everything, noting it all in a professional document that was both emailed and a hard copy that was immediately mailed over. He also calculated cost of construction in an a very accurate manner that helped in my negotiations with the contractor i ended up using. I recommend Korine Associates highly and would use them again. read more

Avi from Korine Associates came highly recommended to us from our brother in law and friends and we were not disappointed! We used him to inspect two homes, the first one which the sellers were trying to lie and be dishonest, stating the house was in great condition. Thank God for AVI! he told us the truth (that the house had at least 50k worth of damage) so we walked away from that house before making a huge mistake. We used him for another inspection and we are buying the house. Avi is extremely knowledgable, thorough, professional and most importantly HONEST, which is rare in the real estate business. He answered all of our questions and even gave us suggestions that saved us more money. He makes himself readily available to answer any questions you may have even after the inspection is done. His office staff ( we worked with Susan) was also very knowledgable, kind and helpful throughout our entire process. The inspection report was sent to us the next day in a very easy to read format. If I could give Avi 10 stars I would. Don't use any other inspector!! read more
