The food was great. I got the fried chicken. It was amazing. The service was good and the atmosphere was welcoming.

I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to Korean food, so on our way back to Atlanta from Florida, my boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch. We didn't realize it was a BBQ place; otherwise we probably would have gotten that. Anywho, I went with the ojingeobokkeum and my boyfriend got the bibimnaengmyeon. We got 6 different banchan: radish, cucumber, kimchi, bean sprouts, potato, and fish cakes. They were all pretty good and standard. As for our entrees, I was relatively happy. It came with a side of rice, and overall, it was pretty yummy. The squid was a little tough, though, and it was covered in so much gochujang that by the end of the dish, that was all I could taste. Instead of enjoying all the veggies, I just ended up picking all the squid out of the sauce. My boyfriend, however, was not so impressed. As he grew up with Korean food, he wasn't happy with the amount of gochujang in his noodles. He finished some of the radishes, the eggs, and pear, but he couldn't finish the noodles. I was disappointed he couldn't finish, but he said he wasn't surprised that he food was mediocre for a run-of-the-mill Korean place and that it was still pretty authentic. At the end of our meal, we received ginger cinnamon tea, which was a nice touch. I probably won't come back because we don't visit Columbus, but we didn't leave upset and I'm sure the KBBQ is much better. read more

We went here after my son graduated US Army Ranger School. It was amazing and I wish I could go back often. Although hard to justify a 12hr drive just for dinner. Our experience was one of the best social dining experience I have ever had, we all got the all you can eat table BBQ, each round took about 10-15 mins to cook at the table so it was a great slow eating experience. And while Columbus, Georgia is not exactly a dining Mecca, it is certainly a winner for KBBQ. I've now been here twice with Tanya C and her parents for dinner and I've been happy both times - they really take care of us and the food is delicious. Also, they do take care to make sure I know what is free is fish sauce so I don't have any reactions. This most recent visit, our serve was Rebecca. She knows Tanya's parents very well, but it was the first time I met her. She made sure my drink stayed full and that we had extra garlic and mushrooms for the grill AND that my favorites of the banchan was refilled as well. That's quality service. The tables have the electric-type grills in the tables for cooking the meats - and they switch out the grill tops so your food doesn't get too blackened. However, I enjoy some char on my meat and veggies. We ordered the galbi (as we did on my previous visit), but it is delicious. This time around, they brought is a tub of mushrooms and sliced garlic to go with the meat. Rebecca kept the meat moving around on the grill and we let he know that we like good caramelization, so she knew how to cook it for us. My favorite of the banchan is the salad, pickled cucumber, marinated bean sprouts and broccoli. We also ordered some Mandu to warm up out bellies while we waited for the meat to cook - also delicious, but I a sucker for anything in dumpling form. This is probably the best Korean restaurant located in Columbus. Anytime I crave Korean food this is the spot to go too. We've made so many to go orders here and ate at the restaurant and it always hits the spot because it is comfort food for my hubby and I. Being away from home where there are tons of good Korean restaurants and grocery markets this is like the go spot for us whenever we crave a certain dish. The customer service is great and the workers here are really friendly. Also, they give you lots of fresh banchan (side dishes) too so that's a plus. read more

Ambiance: The restaurant in located in an older strip mall that just looks tired. Inside the atmosphere was welcoming but somewhat out of place as large stainless steel ceiling vents cover a majority of the tables. Giving the place the feel of a Japanese Teppanyaki Grill Steak House verses a Korean restaurant. Service: Big marks here! Granted I was one of only a handful of patrons in the restaurant at the time of my meal. Even so our server was sooooo way on top of things that I never had a reason to ask for anything. Food: Came into Koreana to try their hot pot bibimbap and was not the least bit disappointed. Fresh ingredients perfectly julianned and cooked in a hot dolsot bowl with a good amount of marinated bulgogi beef and rice. Served up with homemade kimchi. Excellent! The spices in the red sauce/paste were also on target, balancing the right amount of flavor with just a hint of heat, and the pot was fired up enough to crisp up the rice the way it was meant to be served. I could go on and on but trust me if your a Dolsot Bibimbap lover you'll be more than happy coming here. Something Special: After I finished my meal, my server brought out to me some Cinnamon Tea as a gift for desert. It was fantastic! It had a slight bit of sweetness with the right amount of spice to add both flavor and a bit of sting. I get sad just thinking about the very real possibility that I won't be able to find any place that serves tea like that when I get back home. Cleanliness: The place could use a fresh coat of paint and/or paper on its walls. At least to cover the chair scuff marks. There was also some dust on the ceiling air vent that was over my table, which is fair to say was the only high dust I could see in the place. Generally, everything was more than good. All the tables were freshly wiped down, the floors vacuumed and sweep. The bathroom was spotless. It also looked as if it had just been remodeled with fresh floor to ceiling tiles. The only glance I had into the kitchen happened while walking to the bathroom and that looked even cleaner than the rest of the place. Honestly, Koreana has been one of the cleanest restaurants I've been to in Columbus. First time here. Service was great, so was the ambience. We came around early lunch. Was seated quickly. Took our orders and our meals arrived in a timely manner. My daughter got the bulgogi lunch box while I got the dongkatsu both came with banchan which consist of kimchee, salad, japchae, bean sprout, fried dumpling and Kimbap. And a starting miso soup. Came here for dinner with the family. We are from California visiting my sister who lives in the area who kept mentioning how good this place was. Prior to coming here I kept in mind that I can't compare it to San Diego Korean bbq as we have a large variety of bbq restaurants which compete against one another. But I wasn't disappointed! The food here was delicious! We ordered the short ribs and pork belly and one other thing and it came with a good selection of sides that I really enjoyed. Our waitress was very nice and helped us cook. We were all starving so I asked for a second grill so we can get food cooked faster and she was happy to provide. My only minor complaints is that when we arrived there was only one party of two in the restaurant but we weren't greeted and it took about five minutes to get seated. Also I wasn't the fan of the decor. But otherwise the food was great and the pricing was decent. Definitely recommend! read more

I ordered take-out from here and I was not disappointed! I just moved here & had a regular Korean spot in my old location, and this place was just as good, if not better! I had the seafood pancakes, kimchi soup, and galbi. Everything was delicious and still a good temperature after being delivered (Although I am only about ten minutes away). My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach going through the menu but I'm definitely not complaining, as the serving sizes were more than enough for just me & I now have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow! From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were treated to friendly, courteous and attentive behavior from the very knowledgeable staff. Our waiter didn't seem too enthused about her job. She had this weird Squidward type vibe going on. The seafood soup was good. The fish in it seemed old but the rest of the items were tasty. A visit to Columbus to see the parental units always means a visit to Koreana. I think that my mom keeps them in business. This is my favorite Korean restaurant in town. They have regular tables and tabletops with the electric grill for cooking your own meat. I'm a sucker for good galbi so I always order that here. I prefer charcoal grills for galbi but the meat still turns out charred just like I like it. I especially enjoy the banchan here because it usually includes marinated bean sprouts and spinach (hard to find elsewhere). Service is always friendly. Koreana is a welcome addition to the dining scene. I always feel like Columbus is the land of chain restaurants. read more

Not too many places have the audacity to charge $11.95 for Dolsotbibimbab. With tax and 15% tip, one order of Dolsotbibimbab cost me a little over $16 bucks. Yikes. In Korea, the same plate would probably cost a little under $8. And in Atlanta, the same plate costs about $9-10. If you want Korean BBQ, be prepared to spend northwards of $30 a plate, which is the price of premium Korean BBQ at some of the high class Korean restaurants in Los Angeles. And trust me, this place is not in the same league. Since Columbus, GA is a small community with very few Korean restaurants, this place must feel justified in hiking prices beyond the reasonable. read more

I found this place when I was looking for restaurants in Columbus. I liked the pictures of the food and the menu. When we came in, the service was great and the food was delicious. Our meals that we ordered (Dolsotbibbimbop) came with Miso soup and a variety of sides (kimchee, etc). The ginger cinnamon tea at the end of the meal was really good. Support your local restaurants! The pandemic has been kicking all our butts but not as much as the hospitality and restaurant industry. I ordered Koreana's bibimbap over the phone and was surprised to see that I was the only one picking up something on a Thursday afternoon. I had such a great experience that I'm still pretty baffled with the lack of carry-out traffic. Service - Ordering over the phone was a little difficult since I couldn't pronounce the items I wanted except for "bibimbap". The person who took my call knew what other item I wanted though based on my awkward description. After I placed my order, I immediately received a call from the restaurant to tell me that they were out of this dish. I'm used to restaurants nonchalantly telling me they couldn't make my dish /after/ I've arrived for pick up. I was impressed Koreana called me promptly and even recommended a close enough substitute to what I had wanted. Safety - A+ in terms of pandemic safety. There was a clear plastic screen around the register and the person who took my payment had on a mask. She also sanitized her hands just before she took my credit card. When it was time for me to sign my receipt, I noticed that all the pens were sitting in a jar of antiseptic! That's the first time I've seen a restaurant go the extra step like that. Food - In the end, I only got to bring home an order of bibimbap. I was super happy the second syrofoam box contained a wonderful amount of banchan! I was a little upset Korea House didn't give me any banchan with my take out so those little side dishes neatly separated by aluminum foil were a welcomed sight. For the bibimbap--this was my first time trying the classic dish. I knew everything had to be mixed together but for the sake of fully experiencing the dish, I sampled each item on its own. I was kind of skeptical I would like the dish...There was a funky grayish brown pile of vegetables and the wood-ear mushrooms were a little too gummy for me. But then I mixed everything together with the red pepper paste (politely stored in a separate plastic container for those who might not appreciate the spiciness) and then I could not stop eating. What sorcery was this? How could that funky smelling vegetable and gummy wood-ear taste so good? The bibimbap was very flavorful and worked perfectly with the banchan that were there. When I needed to give my tongue a break from the flavor, I nibbled the mild broccoli that had been cooked with a little bit of sesame oil. When the heat became to warm up my mouth, I took a spoonful of their delicious creamy potato salad. Everything worked so beautifully and the meal was so filling that I still had 2/3rd of my banchan left. Perfect accompaniments for next day's dinner. read more

Spicy pork and japchae cannot be beat, also the Bulgogi if you want to try the grilling table. Their side dishes that come with meat dishes are incredible, that kimchi is out of this world. My only minimal complaint is in the past, it can get busy, and they usually have 1-2 servers only so service is slow. This is a local business worthy of support and patronage. Friday's lunch was Rice Cakes (in chewy rolls) with assorted seafood in a spicy sauce that was somewhat sweet. Saying it was delicious would be a gross understatement. It was perfect. The cabbage kimchee was the perfect compliment to the dish adding the kimchee's pungent flavor to the sweet spicy sauce. The potato kimchee seemed to calm down some of the spiciness while blending together two different sweet sauces; the radish kimchee added balance to the dish. The marinated bean sprouts added a delectable crunch to the chewy rice cakes. The cinnamon tea provided at the end of the meal topped off a perfect lunch in the best way.
