This store is great. The produce is fresh, cheaper than Harris Teeter or Whole Foods and varied. You can find coconut, cactus or fresh herbs. There are dozens of rice choices. There is even a rice cooker for one (over $100). The household section has ramekins, rice bowls, utensils, and great kitchen gadgets. The tea section is wonderful. The meat section has tons of fresh fish and other choices. The employees take extra time to meticulously wrap and package the meat. I enjoyed looking at curry options (spices, cubes or packages). There are so many oils, soy sauce bottles and noodles. The restaurant has goat and several meal choices. Entrees start at $10 "ish" dollars. Ingredients for Kimchi are on the shelf or already made in containers. Use a small cart. It is easier to get through the aisles that way.

    Receipts.

Today was my worst day here after many years of shopping. Long time shopper. 10 years. My wife even longer, 15+ years. Korean Korner has been around for a long time, before many of the Lotte and HMarts were around. Overall an extremely positive experience until today. They don't deserve a one star for messing up one time but I must say my piece today. Korean Korner has it all. Readily made kimchi and marinated meats are it's highlight. Everyone knows that they excel in making delicious food, premade or ready to order from their restaurant. But in 2020, something changed. Our favorite, the beef boneless short rib or galbi is the best and most pricey meat there. It costs 19.99/lb in 2020 and I have been buying it since 2010. Because it's magnificent. Cheaper and better than the restaurant. For holidays and birthdays, I buy it twice a year no matter the drive. My birthday is September 10th and I drove an hour to get it this year. But today, September 12, 2020. I tasted something new in the meat, fabuloso, the cleaning detergent. My thinking is that they really cleaned the tubs due to COVID-19 and that the meat sits and and it marinated. And they used this fabuloso cleaner in it. Today, I tasted the cleaner in every other bite. My wife realized it first and she called them in the middle of my birthday dinner to tell them about it. If we bring it, I will drive another 100 mile/ 2hr+ round trip and best case is I get my 61 dollars back. So let's call them and warn them at least. Their response was to bring it to their butcher department to have them taste and check it out because they have never heard such a ridiculous complaint. Their attitude was that they didn't believe us and we explained that we live so far that we aren't trying to get a refund. We had eaten a 1/3 of it, spit out the other 1/3 and did not cook the other 1/3. But they need to know that the batch is bad. They don't deserve a low rating after so many years of great service. But there needs to be a record of this experience. If you also taste fabuloso in your meat from Korean Korner, then please call and let them know. You can also reference this review as someone else who has the same experience. There is a 24hr return window for this meat but I will lose that much in the drive between gas used and time spent to do so. Don't let this tarnish their reputation as I have been nothing but pleased every time. However if nothing is done to remedy this, there will be more disappointing experiences and someone could get sick from this. I hope Korean Korner takes the call we made seriously.

I have been to countless korean megamart and this nothing like other stores.. 5 stars for the staff who are essential workers First of all there is that plangent smell as you enter the store. secondly the aisles are strangley pretty small and the structure of the store is just weird and strange very unorganized, it seems like a maze.. Fruits and veggies arent very fresh ,there are lots if fallen leaves and other stuff on the floor, the lightings arent very good. The energy of the store isnt good. As soon as you walk in you immediately feel something isnt pleasant there.. I personally didnt have bad experience there cuz i found what i was going for, i like how they have alcohol section, asian food and African food section.. There is also a small cafeteria inside the store with small menu and tables... One good thing in this store is that prices are very good..you could find lots of good deals on many items.. I will definitely go back for the good deals like kitchen appliances and other gear but definitely for for fruits meat or veggies...

This supermarket serves alcohol in the back. I thought Maryland couldn't do that? Oh well lol.

As my Korean friend stated, this place should be called the Mexican Corner, not Korean Korner. It didn't have much Korean stuff. The whole store looked like a Mexican store in general. Beer and wine in the back.

Spicy seafood stew The service is amazing and the food was fantastic!!

Great deal! Portions were huge and the food was delicious! The seafood stew was full of flavor and plenty of oysters, shrimp, and squid

A lot of variety of Japanese, Korean, and Filipino pantry and frozen items which is a positive. The major downsides are (1) the cramped aisles; (3) expired products; and (3) the wafting odor of decay like the benjo ditches in Japan that hits as you enter the store. I had to breathe through my mouth the entire visit. It makes me wonder if they even did any cleaning or sanitizing in here at all during the COVID shutdown between March through May. Not a pleasant experience especially if I can't reconcile buying food in a place that looks and smells unsanitary.

So many everyday and unusual products at a fraction of the price you would pay for the same thing in little bottles, boxes or jars. My favorites are oatmeal and spices. Second, the wine section often has good prices on decent wines. Not easy to find these days. Some of them are organic. And finally, there are some freshly prepared foods that make the co-op a destination store for me. Sushi. And those spicy samosas that are kept in the warmer near the soups. Especially the cabbage one! Apparently they are made by Zemen, the Ethiopian grocery on Maple, so you could also look for them there. That is the co-op the way I experience it. Disappointing and embarrassing experience. I was shopping with a personal backpack and reusable bag…read morebecause of the store's restrictive bag policy. While browsing produce, I briefly placed a bag of kale in my backpack while continuing to shop openly in plain view. An employee approached me near the seafood counter and essentially implied I might be stealing, telling me I needed to take it out of my bag because he "didn't want me to get in trouble." The interaction felt unnecessary, humiliating, and accusatory -- especially since I was not hiding merchandise or behaving suspiciously. What made it worse was that the store seemed understaffed in areas that actually affect customer service: most checkout lanes were closed, customers were forced into self-checkout, and basic assistance throughout the store was lacking. I understand stores have loss prevention concerns, but there's a respectful and professional way to handle those situations. Instead of making paying customers feel singled out, management should focus on improving customer service and staffing.

It took me a minute to find this place and when I did I had to figure out where items were inside. Once inside I went about my way and figured out where things were. I browsed a bit and figured out what I needed and how much would fit in my bag. Metro is not the way to go to go full out grocery shopping. Making my way to the register was easy, but the speed of getting to one is not quick. When I did get to the register it wasn't the simplest thing to use either. While using them I felt like I was under a microscope being watched by the employees instead of being assisted. It would have been quicker if they could have seen I was struggling a bit. This would have been an easier stop if this was my local store, but when in the area I had to make do.
