The decor is a bit eclectic with about 5 diff types of brick and tiles/ fake brick, painted walls throughout the restaurant. We came here fairly early on a Sunday evening and it definitely was filling up as it got closer to 5pm. I ordered the tofu soup which is good save for the 2 out of 4 dead/unopened mussels which I didn't eat for fear of food poisoning. I went with the medium which is quite spicy but tasty. It came with one shrimp as well and lots of octopus pieces. I did find it strange that the egg was already inside the stone pot and that the pot wasn't boiling/bubbling hot which is how I've always had it served back in California. Maybe they're just being cautious but the egg definitely does not cook at all while in the stew. If you don't mind runny egg it's not an issue. Our server was very friendly and softspoken. I was going to get the almond boba and asked her opinion of it and she said she didn't like it at all and recommended the strawberry or mango or honeydew boba. I'm not normally a fruit boba person but I do trust employees and seek out their recommendations so I went with the mango and asked for less sweet. All of their drinks are prepared from a powder with added sugar. It definitely had a strange aftertaste which you can get used to but it basically tastes super artificial like candy but it's definitely not authentic and at $5.99 a boba drink I'd skip it next time bc it just isn't good. The sizzling hot galbi plate ($30) was large and yummy. It came with a bowl of cold miso soup which tasted off. Like, it was served cold and straight up tasted like it had gone bad. I've had Korean cold noodle dishes and cold broth dishes before and it wasn't just fermentation like miso soup which we barely touched it after trying. The steamed dumplings were a bit bland and very overcooked and warm at best when they brought them to the table. As far as Korean beers go, they serve terra. The bottle is quite large. Banchan was okay. I liked the fish cake one best. The rice that came with our food was hot at least. The fried chicken wings are decently priced at $16.50 for a 10 piece and they are huge too. The garlic flavor is good and the chicken is juicy. It's comparable to the fried chicken from k-town market off of Duraleigh but not as good as Banchan fried chicken. We would not come back but if you go there I would recommend the sizzling type plates and the fried chicken is pretty decent.
There's a certain quiet confidence about this place -- the kind where the food speaks louder than the ambiance or even the service. Our server was a bit reserved, but if you've spent any time seeking out real-deal Korean spots, you'll know this is often the sign you're exactly where you should be. No frills, no pandering, just focus on getting the dishes right. The interior is unpretentious but comfortable, the type of dining room where regulars probably never even glance at the menu. It immediately gave me the feeling that this isn't a place trying to impress with decor; they know the food will handle that. The banchan arrived swiftly and without ceremony -- house-made kimchi that hits all the right notes: funk, spice, and a slow-building heat that lingers just enough. The marinated fish cake was delicate and lightly savory, and the pickled daikon and carrots offered a crisp, refreshing counterpoint. The soybean sprout salad had that understated umami depth you only get when it's seasoned by someone who's been doing this a while. We followed with steamed dumplings, pleated beautifully and generously filled, their wrappers tender and just slightly toothsome. The dipping sauce brought the balance -- salty, tangy, with a touch of sweetness -- exactly where it needed to be. And then came the standout: Korean fried chicken. We split our order between spicy and soy-garlic, and I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite. The soy-garlic had that glossy, addictive glaze, sweet-savory and unapologetically sticky. The spicy had a slow-building intensity with layers of flavor beneath the heat, not just a blast of chili. The crust? Ethereal crunch without a hint of oiliness, encasing chicken that was juicy and seasoned all the way through. This menu is the kind that invites return visits -- classics like hot stone bibimbap, bubbling jjigaes, grilled galbi, and stews that I fully intend to explore next time. The kind of spot you recommend to friends who appreciate the real thing -- and keep to yourself when they don't.
This place was recommended to us by a shop on the other side of town. When you first walk in it doesn't look like anything special so we almost went to a different restaurant around the corner, but I am so very, very very glad that we did not. The food here was absolutely delicious! They gave us a little vegetable appetizer that was perfect... And tied us over until we got to the main course. We had a hot bowl Bibibop or something... I should've written it down. And we also had the dish in the lower right hand side of the menu that was made with sweet potato noodles... Both of them were absolutely incredible! The staff was very nice and patient and answered all our questions. My friend has a number of dietary restrictions and they 100% took care of us! We are so glad that we went and look forward to dining there again soon!
The food is very authentically Korean! Went with some friends, and the service was impeccable as well. I ordered Tangsuyuk, which was very delicious. The fried portions went well with soju. The ambiance was family friendly.
My first time at Korean Kitchen so I can't compare it to what it may have been in the past. There were 6 of us at the table so we ordered a bit heavily. The six different banchan had different flavors and textures, something that should be expected but isn't always delivered. The dishes were refilled regularly. In addition to the food in the photos we also ordered both the kimchi pancake and the seafood pancake and a brisket dish. Both pancakes were good but the kimchi pancake was a standout. The brisket was the only dish I felt to be subpar. It just wasn't much of anything at all. Everything else was rather good. I believe that we got a little bit of the "white boy" treatment even though one of our party was Asian. The spice level in a few of the dishes was turned down a few notches although they were still tasty and the server tried very hard to steer us towards fruit-flavored soju rather than the original. Even though many of the other customers were Asian the menu appears to cater to an audience not familiar with Korean food. There are a good number of more familiar Japanese dishes and there's a tendency to use loose English approximations for the names of some dishes. That can make it a little challenging to find some dishes or just try to guess to what they're referring. Oh, and the parking really stinks. Whichever developer decided that putting 4 restaurants, who will all be doing the majority of their business in the exact same timeframe, on a small lot with not nearly enough parking spots should never be allowed near a building site again. The restaurant, though? It's good and worth a repeat visit.
Amazing Korean Food! Family owned. We had an amazing lunch today. Weekends are for Bento Boxes I had the chicken, it comes with salad with this amazing orange dressing, rice, tempura veggies, spring rolls, miso soup, and then 5 mini plates with kimchi, and other goodies. (See photo). Hubby got beef bulgolgi Bento Box and it was the best I have EVER had, so render and flavorful. We got beef short ribs to go for dinner, hubby already pronounced them delicious. Do not sleep on this amazing restaurant! Worth every star
I'm usually not on this side of town but it must've been fate. For so long, I've bookmarked this little gem and dit had a chance to try it. Korean Kitchen is easy to miss since it's locate right off a busy intersection and the building blends in with the rest of the other retailers on the same tiny strip. Once you enter the parking lot, you'll see what I mean. Make sure to drive slowly because the parking lot is super narrow. I walked in and was told that I could sit anywhere. The restaurant is spacious with so many little tables, whether if it's for a small or larger party. I was then handed a menu. The menu was so perfect -- not overwhelming with options but straight to the point with popular Korean dishes. As I waited to place my order, K-Pop music played at comfortable sound level and people came pouring in at a good pace and most of them were Korean too -- okay! This had to be good! My expectations went up a notch! Initially, I came for KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) but as I look through the menu, the appetizers sounded too good so I decided to get that instead... Fries: You can add kimchi, bulgogi, and cheese for $1 each! What a fantastic deal! Holy! The fries were crunchy and hot! The toppings are a must! The flavors were a match made in food heaven! Brussels Sprouts: On point! The sweetness, saltiness, and spicyness created a concoction like no other. If I were Brussel sprouts, may I be cooked this way! Side items: Loved all four! I could've eaten this as my main meal and be satisfied. Overall, what a wonderful experience! My waitress was kind and attentive from start to finish. A gentleman from the kitchen came by to ask how my food tasted and even greeted me when I left. This is what 5-star Yelp restaurants are all about! I can't wait to return to try the other items on the menu.
Quick and fast service. It's pretty big inside. Food was good for local can't complain. They had beer and soju which is a plus

I took my sister here for her Birthday and the food was delicious. For starters we each ordered a glass of red wine (which came chilled?) along with the chashu bao which were very tender and flavorful. For our entrees we each ordered the Jjambbong - spicy seafood soup with udon. The Jjambbong was also very good and the portion sizes were huge! The spice level was just right for me and I loved the flavor of the broth. Overall, my sister and I were very pleased. I would definitely go back again! read more

Be careful. Food can be very spicy but every dish is a culinary delight. Soups are like stews. read more
I am giving this place 5 stars for 2 main reasons. First of all this is the only Korean restaurant in Wake Forest so thank you for expanding our culinary options around here :). And second because I liked every single dish I ordered ! The spicy Brussel sprouts was a very large appetizer and I had never had it before, very flavorful. The yaki udon was very well prepared. The chashu bao bun was tasty and the sauce was great. The shrimp fried rice had lots of shrimp ! . We also ordered the bibimbop and it was good( I just say good because I don't think you can be blown away by a bibimbop so it was exactly as expected ). The place was clean, service was very good, even the kimchi was tasty ( not usually the biggest fan) and the portions were very reasonable. I am definitely coming back. read more

Just happened to notice this as I was driving home after an evening appointment. Decided to stop and definitely glad I did. This used to be a Mediterranean place next to Asuka, can't remember the name of the previous place but it's Korean Kitchen now anyway so why am I still winning about this? Ordered to-go but they were allowing in-house dining. Place is bright and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was amazeballs. The only 'complaint' I have is they do have some sort of coating on the wings before they fry them and my preference is a 'naked' wings. They were really tasty and good spice anyway so it not like they were not really good, because they were. The spicy pork stole the show though. I had to fight to stop myself from eating the entire thing. The usual sides you get at Korean restaurants were all good as well, I especially enjoyed the cauliflower and tofu one as well as the bean sprouts and kimchi. All in all everything was delicious and I will definitely be back. read more

This is def a family run restaurant and I love that feel about it. We ordered the fries and added kimchi and bulgogi, each side was an extra 1$ next time we want to add cheese too. We did the little steam bao buns with pork belly and I was a fan! For our entrees we got the spicy jjambong which I wished was a little spicier and the fire chicken which my husband loved. This was a nice large space and they had Kpop music playing we will def be back! read more

I saw this place driving by on Main Street but never really paid attention til recently. It worth the try, for the boa buns to be my first introductory item. It was great and the sauce was a lil spicy with sweetness to it along with the bread having a sweet taste as well. I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu. read more

We've passed by the spot a number of times and when a friend of ours recently visited we knew we had to stop by soon. Placed an order online for pick up which was ready within the quoted time. The parking lot is small for the section of stores but I was able to find a park without a problem. Upon entering the store the staff was friendly and helps me keep my order. The food was delicious. Ordered their udon noodles with beef bulgogi, fried rice with tofu, and their bao buns with beef bulgogi and chashu. Going to have to try their Korean fried chicken next time. read more

The inside is spacious and the service was great. Ive tried a few dishes from here and they were all great. The Korean Fried Chicken, Yaki Udon, Spicy Tofu Soup, and the Spicy Beef Soup are all great choices.
