Their Galbi is to die for! I have ventured off and tried a log of their menu, but keep coming back to the it as my favorite comfort dish. Been visiting this place since first stationed at Ft Hood more than 18 years ago. Good food which reminds me of the little Mom 'n Pop places in Seoul. Spicy garlic wings made for a great appetizer, followed by some very satisfying bulgogi & rice. My favorite is the many varieties of pickled veggies presented as sides...cucumber, turnip, bean sprouts, & carrot in addition to the expected versions of "summer" kimchi. I had the bulgogi and Mandu and it was okay. The food at the "New Oriental Restaurant" tastes way better than this place. The waitress was really nice but I will not be coming back to this place due to the lack of taste. read more

About as authentic as you can get without being in South Korea yourself. Bulgogi is always good and made to order.

I absolutely love this place. I ate there every Friday night when I lived in Killeen. We actually tried everything on their menu. Every entree, appetizer and dessert was fantastic. It is run by a family and they truly care about the quality of food AND service. The gratuitous kimchi samplers they bring out before your meal are the best I've had anywhere. I was very impressed with the food, it was delicious!!!! And the prices are pretty reasonable as well. I really liked the restaurant in the inside, it was super clean! I believe every place deserves a second chance and they most certainly have earned my business again! When all other Korean eateries were closed, they were open and happy to serve from their menu. I can see that they had more than adequate staff on hand that late nite and prepared a delicious dinner in a short time period. The food was phenomenal! Fresh, hot, and plentiful! We had the Cold Naengmyun and oh my goodness. Killeen isn't that great with Korean food to be completely honest but this naengmyun was one of the best I've had in America in a restaurant in a while. I would definitely go back. We also had the kimchi fried rice and it was a little bland which is weird because kimchi is usually saltier. Nonetheless, it was good prices and good food. I for sure recommend. The parking was a little confusing because the front parking was all full and we saw the sign for the parking lot behind the building but the side road to get there was pretty small so we didn't see. My husband and I eat here on a fairly regular basis. I usually get the dolsot bibimbap, which is excellent. We always get the yakimandu as well. Hubby tries something new every time and he's always pleased. The service at this family restaurant is outstanding and we're always happy and full when we leave! read more

This is the best hole in the wall. The food is amazing and I come back again and again for the rainbow fried rice. Cho and his staff are wonderful. I always leave laughing or with a smile when I visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone new to the area. Its The best asian food that I have ever had. LOVE IT!!! I've have eaten here several times. I normally get the beef Bulgogi, the last 2 times I ordered the spicy pork and rice. It was delicious and hot! Service is sometimes slow, but it's a small mom and pop restaurant. I can deal with the slow service for good food. I would really like to see them get a soda fountain, I don't much care for hot soda over ice. The sweet ice tea was very good though. read more

Authentic mom and pop shop Korean food. Love their side dishes and food is awesome. Had the hot stone pot and rice cake soup. Inside is clean and service is friendly. If you are looking for good food and don't care about how flashy the place looks then this is the place for you. The owners of this place are truly wonderful. She remembered us after our first visit and even picked up our conversation from a month before. The food is amazing! It was our first time to eat Korean food and she offered suggestions on both the food and how to eat it. We drive all the way from Temple to eat here. Portions are big. I would suggest getting the bulgogi for first timers and branch out as you go. Beginners might also like egg rolls, ramen with egg and hot pot. Don't be fooled by the small front and limited parking. You can find a parking spot in the back. Over all great experience and can't wait for our next trip. read more

Just ate there for the first time. I had high hopes from walking in, it just "smelled right", and if you eat plenty of Korean food you know what I mean! I definitely will be going back. The yakimandu are obviously made from scratch, which is not always the case at most Korean restaurants around. The spicy squid was a little bit skimpy on the meat, and now I know why there is the option to add extra meat for $$ on the menu, but it was seasoned with the perfect balance of spicy, sweet and a touch of umami. My husband had galbi, and the helping was very generous, perfectly tender, sweet and savory. Plenty of banchan. read more

I dine in this establishment at least 2-3 time a month. I believe they have the best Bulgogi in town. The sweet and sour chicken aint bad either. I have had quite a few different dishes on the menu and they have all been really good. The food is prepared upon ordering. The ingredients are fresh and prepared well. The staff is friendly and cater to your needs exceptionally. I would recommend this restuarant to everyone. If they have a fault it would be the parking, it can be a challenge at times. Additionally, it is a quaint building in an odd place, but dont let the location or the humble furnishing keep you from a great meal. OH, and BTW, there are a ton and a half of Korean fare in the Killen/Cove area... and this is by far my first choice.... read more

I eat here at least 3 times a week because I'm OBSESSED with their Kimchi soup! It's reasonably priced and I'm all for supporting small mom and pop businesses. There are two chefs and one waitress that do their best to keep up with the inflow of customers but because there's only 3 of them I'm completely okay with waiting a little longer for my food. Feels like a fast food & run place now, not the old wonderful place to take the family for a table full of food & side dishes. Will not be back if I can find a more enjoyable good tasty Korean restaurant in Killeen (I am sure there are others). No glass of water, only bottle water, cans of soda. I took my Honey there today. The food was nothing like the advertisement. It was served in styrofoam boxes and you had to pay before you were served. There was literally no service and the vibe was depressing. They had me pay several dollars extra for fried rice and gave me a tiny handful of rice with a few peas and carrots. They gave my Honey awful tasting sushi and soup that burned her tongue. Yuck!!! read more

Not going to lie the food is really good, but if you come in thinking you have freedom of choice, you're wrong. This restaurant just tells you what you want to eat, after all you don't really know what you like and don't like...you're just like all the other simple-minded people that come in and order bulgogi. read more

My wife and I had lunch at the Korean kitchen today.... Talk about an unpolished diamond! While the storefront leaves much to be desired, and the neighborhood is pretty seedy, the restaurant was exceptionally clean, the service was fabulous, and the food put a smile on our faces. We ordered the bebimba and yeugechan - our favorite Korean dishes. The food was good, quite authentic, and well worth the drive. We will be coming back to sample more of their menu. read more

I decided to try this restaurant instead of my old faithful Korean restaurant we normally go to. I ordered the spicy chicken and yaki mandu. Somehow the waitress only hears the latter part of my order. She brings out my husbands food and the yaki but no spicy chicken. I sit there and wait. Finally my husband finish eating and I'm like go pay and cancel the order. Come to find out she never put it in. BTW I go to Korean restaurant for the kimchi but she didn't bring any out either. When I asked for some kimchi she tried to charge me $4.33. The yaki had a weird taste like the meat filling was old or close to spoiling. And who doesn't give you dipping sauce for the yaki mandu, this place! Very disappointed. I will stick with the tried and true Korean restaurant I normally go to from now on. BTW I'm a army vet stationed in Korea from 2001-2002. I need my Korean food to take be back and this is definitely not it! read more

First and foremost, the food was really good. I've been there a total of three times and the sides are always fantastic and taste fresh and the main courses are always on point. There is parking directly in front of the restaurant, however, if it's full you have to park in the back. Be advised that people block the alley and you'll miss the parking entrance if you don't know it's there. I came home reeking of food because I was seated next to the kitchen so if you can avoid that, do so. The ambiance is reminiscent of the 70s and definitely has its charm. My waitress was very friendly and accurately took my order, however, she was overwhelmed because she was the only one available at the time and the whole thing took about an hour for this reason. Apparently, 18:00 on a Saturday is their dinner rush time so if you plan to visit then anticipate staying for a while. If you're used to getting the vegetable sides before your meal arrives be sure to ask at the time you place your order, otherwise it will all come at once. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone interested in Korean cuisine in Killeen. read more

I brought a friend here because I was used to getting good food. The Banchan was good, and the Kimchi soup was absolutely delicious as usual. My friend ordered their combination plate. The Bulgogi was good. The Yakimandu was disappointing--definitely not what I have eaten there in the past. When I made the sauce for the mandu, I discovered that the table vinegar is white vinegar, not rice vinegar. The vegetable fried rice was nothing remarkable. The service wasn't very good. The server didn't check back to see if we needed anything. As usual, the place was very clean. read more
