After a morning at the range I was in the mood for Korean food. I saw a spot down the street from On Target sports and decided to drop in without even looking at reviews. It was good food. I ordered the beef hotpot and my friend ordered the steamed dumplings. My meal was good. They brought out the side veggies which consisted of radish, ginger, kimchi, broccoli and one other item(brain fart here). They were all good and pickled. The kimchi was spiced but I could eat it with the rice. The beef was really good and seasoned just right with that sweet tangy flavor. I will say the steamed dumplings weren't my favorite as it had no taste and I wasn't a fan of the sauce. My friend wasn't into them either but it's based on individual taste so you may think otherwise. We were seated and served pretty quickly. The restaurant seemed fairly clean and the food was reasonably priced. To me the beef pot was really for 2 people if you don't mind sharing one pot of rice. read more

We had the beef Bulgogi and chicken Bulgogi. Both were good beef is better. I wish I took a picture of it but was so good ate half the plate before I realized it. Chicken was a little tough on the tips but still had a good flavor but the Beef was the bomb! Makes my mouth water thinking of it. Will definitely come back again even though it's across town! Been here twice now, and I can say it's on my list of favorite places. We had a very sweet lady serve us both times and she was so nice. She made sure to make my 2 year old smile with a couple of nice gestures. I had the beef bulgogi the first time and it was INCREDIBLE. So my wife and I got the beef bulgogi for two this time and it came in this huge pot and was DELICIOUS. I can't recommend it enough. The place is nice and quiet. I like how simple the decor is. So very overdue on writing a review for this place. From the first time we came here we were hooked. We've never been disappointed in the food or staff, and typically get the the tables BBQ. Top three are the marinated ribs, spicy bulgogi, and wine marinated pork belly. The Bon Chon are on point and change from time to time to keep it interesting. Comes with a plate of short ribs and sides. Last time I barely finished the rib plate. This time I was served 2 shortribs. I counted how many bones on my plate. Every shortrib has 3 bone per rib. I buy shortribs frozen at the asian stores so I know. Back to my ribplate. I finished it. For a shortrib plate platter I figured there would be a lot of shortribs, at least 3 minimum. You guys are making me want to go to HOT POT down the road due to your poor quantity of shortribs. L&L Hawaiian Grill gives 3 shortribs per Kalbi order. For $19.95, I expect more ribs, or I will be paying $39.95 for AYCE Shortribs. The service was not memorable. Barely saw my waiter during the whole meal. I think he was an introvert, didnt like conversation at all. My last server was female. Older lady. Great conversation and enjoyed our banter. I was minimizing my Coke consumption due to rarely seeing my waiter. I wanted another Coke dang it! So I left with an empty plate with 6 rib bones and a lot of sides still unfinished. Was recommended this place by another patron of one of my favorite Japanese places. Was told this was the best korean in Jax. I got LA galbi the first time and this time I got Bulgogi. First time seeing a place mix in japchae into their bulgogi. It was glorious. My aunt got the Bibimbap and couldn't stop eating it. The sauces they paired with it were top notch. The sides seem to cycle like most places so it's random what you'll get on a given day. Either way, I enjoyed 80% of the sides. Also got dumplings (fried) for an appetizer; they were also crunchy and delicious. The only disappointment was you can't order All You Can Eat without a second person. Just wish they could offer a smaller portion for a single person so I could experience it. But that's not enough to make me take off a star, it's a damn good place. read more

Sitting in a simple plaza a few blocks away from the Orange Park Mall and right next to a karaoke place, is the restaurant. Inside was simple, nothing fancy. It looked like a little mom and pop restaurant in Korea. My friends and I ordered the All You Can Eat BBQ option on the menu. And let me tell you, you better have room. Our favorite has to be the short ribs. Thinly sliced pieces of delectable meats seasoned very well. We also loved all their side dishes especially the broccoli and carrots hat were steamed then blanched and season with sesame oil and salt. I think everything in Jax is surprising in some way, and this little place was no exception. The food was really good. It had probably the highest quality of meat in any KBBQ I've been to in Florida so far. I also really like their KBBQ grills (for the uninitiated, you cook your meat at your table). They were slanted so the juices and oils run down in to a collector. The experience was less than good to put it a way. Our server was very kind and friendly, but I think at the time she was the only server. There were signs outside saying help wanted, so I can accept that they probably aren't usually slow. But with one server, once it got packed table had trouble getting refills on everything. Also a small thing, but there was no ventilation at the tables or in the room. So once a couple of tables got sizzling, suddenly the room was smokey and meaty. Not a bad thing, but a thing to consider if you plan on going anywhere after dinner. You will smell like beef. Overall I enjoyed it, and I will probably enjoy it even more the next time when the store hopefully has more staff. read more

I am not a Korean food aficionado by any means, but I do love Korean food. When I took a friend out to lunch we were going to another spot in the same center, but he really wanted to give it a try. While I noted mediocre Yelp ratings, I noted a few that were also very positive. After looking at the menu my friend noted Beef Bulgogi prepares in different was, as a lunch combination, as a hot pot and as a sole entree. He chose the sole entree and was thrilled with the portion but not thrilled with the flavor. I opted for the Chicken Hot Pot and I had the same kind of feeling, plentiful but lacking flavor. In fact, our server said "this dish is much better with this sauce" as she slid a red bottle on the table, "...but it is spicy". My main complaint was the chicken was super dry and devoid of flavor and the spicy sauce had flavor, just not one that I liked. However, both of us really loved the side dishes that came with lunch which included kimchi, fish cakes, seaweed, broccoli and a few others. These were the highlight of our trip. Parking is plentiful, service was efficient but not friendly. Maybe I came at an off time or an off day or ordered the wrong dish (es). A gentleman at an adjacent table said he thought the spare ribs were magnificent. Whatever the reason, this location was completely underwhelming. read more

The inside is very unassuming but the gentleman that helped us was outstanding and he cooked foe us but what I loved most is he got my picky granddaughter to eat meat. He was so kind and gentle with her that she ate whatever he put in her plate. We have plenty of everything from pork belly, to beef tips to brisket cooked right in front of us. The sides were very good especially the rice and kimchi. My son had a blast. We got the AYCE (All You Can Eat) and it was definitely worth it as we sat and got full for a nice lunch. They give you side dishes as well and refill them two times. The meat was pretTy much on point with Korean food and definitely tasty. It wasnt too pricey as well going at 11.99 for most of the single dishes. The restaurant is older looking inside but this isnt foreign to a lot of restauraNts in Korea so its soMething im used to seeing. This is probably the most authentic Korean barbecue I've ever had. We chose the AYCE (all you can eat) option, of course. Along with meat, your meal also comes with sides and rice. The interior of the restaurant isn't fancy, but isn't unsanitary/dingy either. The quality and slices of meat were pretty good. Usually, I prefer pork belly at kbbq places, but Korean BBQ House's beef brisket surprisingly surpassed my passion for belly. The servers were very attentive. This place was sitting in a small strip mall and the moment we walked in there was an unpleasant smell. We almost left but we came all the way here for the AYCE barbecue. There wasn't a lot of meat to choose from with the cheaper combo and there was only 6 kinds of appetizer (unlimited refill tho with the AYCE). It was served with lettuce wrap, garlic, sesame oil and bean sauce. I recommend the marinated pork belly and beef brisket. Wine pork has a lot of fat. I would give a 3 star but 1 extra is to the server that day. It might be because it was a slower Sunday lunch. I really like the M - F lunch specials from 11 am to 3 pm. Everything except LA beef ribs are under $10 which includes the main protein, white rice, and the banchan side dishes are always delicious to snack on before and during your meal. My favorites are the bulgogi's especially the spicy pork and the LA beef ribs are a solid choice. read more

I went here for a birthday lunch. A party of 12. When we arrived the place was pretty empty. This place could use an update. A hole in a wall!! The service was really slow!! They had 2 servers but only 1 took care of our party. We sat and waited 30 mins till someone approached our table. I have to say their food was really good. I love Korean BBQ House! The decor seems really out dated but it's like a hole in the wall restaurant. They have two different tiers of meat selections for all you can eat KBBQ (go with the more expensive option for all the extra meats!) and there's plenty of other good Korean dishes. They also give you nice portions of meats so you can't ever go wrong with that. I've one had their budae jjigae, yuekaejang, and tteokkbokki which was all delicious. Oh! The sweet tea is sweeeet! Good KBBQ lunch option in Orange Park that's reasonably priced. We came here on a Wednesday for lunch around 11:45 and we were seated and served promptly (it was admittedly pretty empty). I ordered the B8 lunch combo (Beef Ribs/Kalbi) option and the rib meat was awesome! Full of good flavor from the marinade. The rice was pretty average, but a good companion to the meat. Dining with four people, we were served about the same amount of side dishes as any table receives - pickled radishes, peppers, kimchi, broccoli, macaroni and eggplant. From the other pictures it looks like they might rotate out the side options. I particularly loved the pickled radishes and eggplant dish - yum. A few of my colleagues said they were still hungry after the lunch, but they didn't capitalize on the side dishes like myself. Out waitress was very attentive and had no problems taking our order and keeping our waters full. The interior leaves a lot to be desired. But, hey, you're eating in a strip mall... Dining here feels like visiting chincheok (relatives) and being served delicious home-cooked meal that hits home. We ordered beef bulgogi, spicy soft tofu stew, japchae (glass noodles) and pajjeon (seafood and green onion pancake). The side dishes are flavorful and seems freshly made. Everything was on-point and seasoned well. The spicy tofu stew has that amazing after taste that leaves the body warmer--would be a perfect dish on colder days/nights especially during the Ber months. Service is excellent and the kind owner even gave a free serving of brocolli to my little boys. Picked this Korean restaurant for lunch today because I wanted to eat something a little different versus the southern type of food we have been eating this week. It's a very small hole in the wall Mom and Pop Style joint and the workers there were very accommodating and friendly. Although it's not a fancy restaurant, the food here was very well worth the price. They also have lunch specials at a slight discount however for only a couple dollars more, I decided to order the regular entree portion of bulgogi, as it comes on a sizzling platter versus just being in a bowl on top of rice. The banchan sides were very good and they offer 1 free refill if you so desire. I especially enjoyed the Pickled radish. I am very glad that I ordered the sizzling platter regular portion bulgogi, because somehow it always seems to taste better when it's prepared that way. I prefer it a little more sweeter, however the preparation style they used was still very tasty. Simple decor, family-run, friendly & attentive staff, plus an amazing menu full of absolutely delicious Korean dishes. Entree portion sizes are generous, everything is fresh, the sides are fantastic quality & come with a courtesy refill, the marinades are delicious and everything we've eaten here has been amazing. Hubby got the H7 Spicy Bulgogi and I got the H6 L/A Beef Ribs. Really good amount of meat in the dish, all in a delicious, lip-smacking marinade. This was my second visit to the Korean BBQ House. Both times I have had the Beef Bibimbop. It is served in a hot bowl along with rice, sprouts, mushrooms, and an over easy egg on top. They have a hot sauce and a soy sauce for topping. I like to mix the two for topping. My hubby got the Beef platter. He enjoyed it, but it did have quite a few pieces of gristle that made it less than appetizing. It is served with a small bowl of steamed rice. The sides vary and are refillable. My teen enjoyed the potato salad the most and we finished off the pickled eggplant as well. I would have to say my first visit was better. I did not see a consistency in the food or the service. Family did not really care for their meals and teen left most of her Chicken Bibimbop in the bowl. read more
