TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. A co-worker recommended I go there to…read moreget a gel manicure and told me that Kim is the best person to go to. I went but Kim was busy with someone. Kelly the owner said, "Everyone here is equally qualified or they wouldn't be working here; you should give the others an opportunity." I went ahead and let one of the other girls give me a pedicure then manicure. First of all, she did a totally ridiculous job on the design on my big toe. I shouldn't complain because I literally watched her do it and could have stopped her but felt bad...so now I have a HUGE white flower on each big toe. My main problem was with the gel manicure she gave me. This was my first time so I did not know what to expect. However, I did a great deal of research before committing myself to this manicure and do know that it will NOT peel off by itself and should take anywhere from 2-3 weeks before I need to get my nails done again. At that time I will need to get the polish removed with acetone. Today is day 10 and the gel all officially finished peeling off today. It started peeling at around day 7. I called today to complain about this and Melinda (the pre-teen daughter who really has no business working there or dealing with customers without a license) picked up and told me, "Oh, that girl (who did my nails) has a tendency to overlap skin so the polish tends to peel off." So much for the "equally qualified"...BS. Melinda told me come back to "try another girl" and get them redone but I will still have to pay full price because if they started refunding or crediting customers then everyone would want credit. This isn't volunteer service where people get to try their terrible skills on me. I am PAYING for service that should last a certain amount of time. I did not expect them to give me a refund or free service because after-all this is still one of the regular Asian owned nail places and they're known for their deficiency in good customer service. I did expect some sort of apology and/or discount on my next manicure. One plus point: Unlike many other nail salons, the women here do not rudely jibber off in their mother tongue while customers are getting service done. They do their best to speak in English 90% of the time, which is great. Still, I do NOT recommend this place.

Just cut the cuticle, remove the old polish and even the gel polish is removed by soaking in acetone not with the gel remover pads, and apply the new color. The cuticle area of my nails looks horrible. I could have done just as well myself and there is really no shaping of the nails. It was the worst manicure I've ever had. Pedicure was not any better and she doesn't have an actual pedicure soaking tub. She just used one of those portable things you can buy at Kohls or Bed, Bath & Beyond. Very disappointed in the entire service and would not go back.

I was excited for a new nail salon and got a regular pedicure and gel manicure. My pedicure was great, but my gel manicure fell off in less than 12 hours. I literally woke up the next day and 3 of my nails had no polish on them, the gel was completely off as if they had never been painted. I had to travel for work that morning, so I popped the rest of them off with no effort because the gel was not attached/bonded to my nail. Hopefully they all get trained on how to apply gel because they had a lot of clients getting gel while I was there!

The shop is always clean and has a great atmosphere. Walk ins are more than welcome and the barbers do all they can to accommodate the clientele. They cut all kinds of hair and regularly cut children's hair. I was very happy that my personal barber and manager of the shop, Mike, gave my one year old son his first haircut. I posted on Instagram I was looking for a stylist with an open schedule. To my surprise I received a DM from Veronica introducing herself and her willingness to help me. After I explained my situation to her she invited to come into the shop. Veronica understand my time restrictions, which she had me in and out about 45 mins tops. I was impressed, she was very personable, knowledgeable and pleasure to be around from the moment I walked in the door. We made small talk the entire time. I really felt valued as a new customer. Once I was done,I loved the end results, I received a wash, blow dry,curl and trim. She actually corrected a trim I tried to give myself. My hair smells amazing and it doesn't feel weighted down with product. I even have a little bounce and to my hair which is very rare for me. Most stylist put too much on my hair cause it to go limp nor hold curls. As for as the shop it was neat, pretty clean. It was two other people waiting when I came in and one in the chair being serviced by another stylist. Everyone was nice and spoke to upon me entering and leaving. I was a regular at Salon True down the road for a little while, but decided to look for somewhere new as their prices were steadily increasing. I found Salon Charisse via Groupon--a cut, ombre, blow dry and style for $92. I've been charged upwards of $150 for this package elsewhere, so I was stoked. Before purchasing, I called the salon to confirm they had upcoming openings, and the owner, Charisse, told me not to buy the Groupon--they'd just honor the $92 package. It turns out that Groupon keeps 50%, so the Salon would rather just offer you the discount themselves--just mention it when you call to make an appointment! Brandy gave me an awesome ombre and cut--completely comparable to more expensive services I've received elsewhere. She counseled me on length, and asked if the blonde color went up high enough for me--she was extremely dedicated to making sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. And she was also SO SWEET! I usually feel awkward making small talk with a new hairdresser, but she was chatty, personable, and kind. To address some of the negative comments about hair pulling--I didn't experience that at all. Brandy asked me upwards of 5 times if she was being too rough while washing my hair, combing it, and blowing it out. She wasn't! I'd like to second another Yelper's response: if it hurts to get your hair brushed out, it's because your hair is knotty (mine is!). And you should speak up in the moment instead of just writing a mean review about it later. Overall, awesome experience. They honor the $92 package for your first three visits, and then it goes up to $125 I believe, which is still super reasonable. I'd definitely recommend going in to see Brandy!

The two hair dressers stood and talked to this woman they were obviously friends with while one of them straightened her hair for a half and hour! Finally, 40 mins after my appointment was scheduled for I just stood up and walked out. They barely even cared. The salon is small, poorly lit and has no magazines except for weird 90s hairstyle books. I've never had such bad service in my life. This was written from a Wendy's parking lot because they don't even have parking.
