I finally decided to upgrade from my 2009 Toyota RAV4 - the first and only car I've ever owned - to a newer model. Chris Zook was such a kind and patient salesman, helping me find the perfect 2021 RAV4. Not a single attempt at a hard sell, as he thoroughly answered all of my questions, made sure I knew all of the safety features, and ensured I was completely happy with the car before I bought it. My parents were looking for a car at the same time, and Chris literally came in on his day off just to help all three of us. And Marcus Robinson, who worked on the financial side, had such a calm and soothing demeanor, making every step easy to understand. These wonderful guys are nothing like your stereotypical salesmen of the old days! Even though I was ready for new safety features, letting go of my old RAV4 was emotional with all of its memories. If I could give Koons Toyota ZERO stars, I would do so. They don't even deserve 1 star. They are unethical and dishonest. This business sold us a car that would NEVER pass Maryland Emissions! Within 3 days of purchasing the car, the engine light came on. We took the car back to Koons. They kept it for the weekend. When we returned to pick up the car, it looked like it was driven on a joy ride through an off roading trip. Muddy, dirty, 600 miles put on the car over the weekend! Two days later, engine light on again! We never ever got the engine light to go off and we never could pass emissions. They knew the car had a problem and did something to make the engine light go off for a couple of days. Even had to go to court because we got pulled over due to the fact we could not get a new MD sticker because of the emissions issue. The judge took pity on us when she found out what we had gone through and actually dismissed the charge and eliminated any court costs. She was appalled and said what a shame we were scammed by Koons Toyota. Called the MD Automobile Association - guess they are 'in bed or in cahoots' with Koons Toyota because they were no help at all. So much for the lemon law. Dishonesty at its best. So Koons at the time had a guarantee on their used cars that it could be exchanged for another used vehicle if we were not satisfied. Guess what - they would not honor that offer! Spent lots of money trying to get the car to pass emissions. No luck, finally traded it in for a new one at a different dealership. Since being a long standing and loyal customer of Toyota at various dealer shops in VA and MD since 2007, koons in Annapolis have gone down to the lowest point in recent few years since all of their best advisors and managers left and went to Laurel. The service department have only gotten more and more worse. I scheduled for my usual 5K Miles truck service. Usually have to have the service manager check me in due to prior discusting and poor service in the repair shop an especially the service dept . This time around, thought I would give the advisor another chance. Nope, same sub par experience, nasty attitude of the advisor again and this time a valuable item was stolen from my truck as I was I between house moves and made the mistake of letting them pick up my truck to take to service for me!!! Of course they wont own up to it. I didn't even get a request to give a review of my exp this time or a call from anyone to ask how my experience went, as they usually do so I have to post here. They even left a part off of my vehicle in a prior visit and tried to say it was inoperable and then tried to get me to trade it in for a new one! I had to have it serviced by a private mechanic who dicovered Toyotas error and fixed the issue, which led me to believe they have become scammers to get people to buy new or used cars. The used car manager and service manager worked together to try to get me to scrap my high mileage truck and trade it in for a new or used one, all a scam. I talked with another lady about the experience and she had the same thing happen to her! it appears All the honest, ethical and kind folks have left Koons Toyota of Annapolis. In addition, they bought my truck back to me with oil on the floor mats that I had just washed the day before, from dirty shoes and steering wheel from Toyota drivers or the service techs that didn't care obviously. NEVER BUY A USED VEHICLE FROM KOONS TOYOTA IN ANNAPOLIS. Koons Toyota of Annapolis isn't a dealership it's a masterclass in deception and incompetence. I bought a used vehicle from this establishment and was met with broken tie rods, an AC unit that did not work, a whole entire front end alignment needed, my front bumper and headlights were ZIP TIED to the headlight appliance, and the parts of this vehicle under the hood were loose and worn. There were COUNTLESS other faults to this vehicle as well. The individuals who sold me this vehicle who partake in shady business deals were aware of these faults (how could you not be?) and passed it through inspection anyways. Initially upon purchase, we were made aware of the bent tie rods by a local mechanic who was shocked at the damage to the almost completely broken tie rods. Per our $3k warranty on the vehicle, we reached out to the dealership, expecting that surely our insurance policy must cover some of the repairs for the tie rods that we're noticeably bent 30 days after purchase. Koons Toyota had the audacity to blame the bent tie rods on us. The car had been in involved in no accidents whatsoever under my ownership. We explained this to the dealership and reminded them that if we were involved in an accident, wouldn't we have reported it to our car insurance company? Their response: "how do we know you didn't get in an accident and not report it to your insurance? That's why the tie rods are bent." Koons Toyota of Annapolis is not just a disgrace to the Toyota brand -- they're a stain on the entire car sales industry. The level of negligence, arrogance, and outright dishonesty displayed by this dealership is beyond appalling. New to the area. Used the Toyota dealer in my last location for service regularly. Called to schedule state inspection. AI scheduler only available. Set a time. Showed up only to be told "oh it's the afternoon, we don't do inspections in the afternoon." Perhaps tell the only schedule available that? Rescheduled for two weeks later, earliest they had. Got the call to confirm today but because there will still be snow on the ground they won't be able to do the inspection again. But of course the confirmation AI doesn't know this and no human bothered to check. Called to reschedule myself, only to be told that they have no record of any appointment for me (I had set up two card appointments in person). Clearly they have my phone number right since they called me first. I just don't now trust them with my car if they can even figure out how to manage reservations. Too busy eating their Taco Bell and talking about their shoes. Multiple layers of management and sales people. And finance people and business people. Only for them to realize at the end of day that they gave me the wrong VIN. All financing and insurance was on the wrong VIN. And this at 5pm on the last day of the month with an end of month deal. What an absolutely terrible experience! I made four separate trips--each a 30-minute drive, there and back--trying to pick up my car, and every single time, something new went wrong. On top of that, Jessica WRECKED my car, and I never received an apology from anyone. Bob's rude, unsympathetic attitude only made the situation worse. I brought in a 2003 Avalon that was running just fine and ended up with a broken car after paying $1,500. I would avoid this place at all costs. Here's what happened: I dropped off my car on the evening of Sept 27th for an oil change and general inspection with my service advisor, Jessica Shultz. The car had been given to me by my ill grandfather, and I just wanted to make sure it was in good condition. Jessica and the team told me the engine was "soaked in oil" and recommended resealing the valve cover gaskets and replacing the spark plugs for $1,400. They assured me the car would be ready by 4 PM on Sept 28th. When I arrived to pick up the car, it wasn't ready. Days went by with no updates. After reaching out to Jessica, I was told they had "addressed a slight tick" in the engine. But that was the last I heard until I had to call again myself. During that call, I overheard Jessica chatting with her coworkers about personal matters, such as who wanted to date her, completely ignoring me as a customer. Finally, on Oct 4th, we went in to pick up the car again. This time, the check engine light was on, and there was still a noticeable tick. They took the car back to "fix" it, but things went from bad to worse. When Jessica returned the car, she ran into another customer's open door, leaving a huge gash on my front bumper and damaging the other car's door to the point where it wouldn't close. I spoke to Bob, the service manager, who assured me they would fix everything. However, he spent more time complaining about how much this was costing him than addressing the damage. (I didn't even get a replacement bumper--just puttied it.) In the midst of all this confusion, I accidentally took the key home with me, and Bob called on Monday to complain about having to search for it. When I returned the key, I was completely ignored by the staff for several minutes until Bob finally walked up, took the key from me, and walked back to his office without a word. On Oct 11th, I received another call from Jessica saying the car was ready for pickup. But when I got there, the check engine light was on again, this time showing an oxygen sensor issue. Bob dismissed the problem, saying, "It's just an old car," and told me the GM wasn't going to refund any of the money because they'd already spent so much on repairs. At this point, they'd had my car for nearly three weeks. I had to call every day for updates, and when I finally picked it up, Bob didn't even acknowledge me. He just drove the car around front, grabbed his things, and left the building without saying a word. A week later, I received a call saying that a part had arrived and I needed to schedule an appointment. When I called back to inquire, the employee casually said, "Oh, if you have the car now, you probably don't need the part anymore." The lack of professionalism and basic customer service at this place is absolutely astounding. Due to COVID-19 and my desire to not spend the majority of my day sitting in the waiting room to get my service done, I called Koons and them came to the house and picked up my vehicle. After they got it to the dealership they called and let me know what recommended services that I should have completed and after a few hours called and told me it was all completed. I am a loyal customer who purchased my first Toyota from this dealership in 2007. Over the years, I've had good customer service until today. Normally, I would not write a bad review because of one incident; however, customer service was just that bad. Upon entering the service department, I was only greeted by the valet guy who took the car to the back of the building for service. Everyone else appeared "too busy". The atmosphere was not welcoming, warm, or customer-friendly. The service lane manager eventually assisted and informed me that it was a busy day and that the service would take 2-2.5 hours. That is not a problem since I planned to wait and catch up on emails. I received an initial text from the service manager at 1:07 pm to let me know I could text that number for questions and that he would provide me with updates/progress. I did not hear anything, so I reached out via text at 3:18 pm and was told the service manager could share his notes via text, or I could report to his desk. This was not a customary practice since service managers typically shared updates with customers inside or outside the waiting area. Nevertheless, I went to his station for updates, to pay for the service, and to get my car. Afterward, I asked to speak with a manager to express my concerns about my experience as a loyal customer. The manager, Bob, did not help at all and helped me better understand why the overall atmosphere was so unwelcoming. After sharing my experience and observation, he responded that the workers were "flustered" because of training and a new system. He referred to me sharing my personal experience as being "mad." I never raised my voice or displayed any negative body language that equated with being "mad." Ultimately, I spoke with General Manager Nigel Hayes, who was more accommodating, customer-friendly, and open to problem-solving. I was really pleased that Scott Myers offered to step in and take care of things on the spot, so that I wouldn't have to schedule service for such a small thing. I was able to buy the proper bulb replacements from your parts store because he took out the bad bulb and walked over there with me. While I was paying for the parts, Scott simply walked back and installed the new bulbs. I am very impressed with such kind and courteous service. TLDR: Service rep lied/or gave us bad information about tire being patchable to upsell us. We got a Screw in one of our tires on my Wife's Rav4 Prime, so looking at where the screw was I knew it should be patchable. I removed the wheel, put on the spare, and placed the wheel in the trunk so my Wife could take it into Koon's Service department for a patch. So the next day I get a call from my wife saying the service rep needed to talk to me. He says it will be 400 plus for the replacement tire, but they can give us one for free if we replace all four (well over a grand). I asked if he was telling me the tire was not patchable, and he told me it was too close to the sidewall to be patched. Thinking maybe I was miss-remembering where the screw was I agreed to have all four replaced. I asked my wife to request the old tire be placed in the Trunk so I could verify what they told me. Sure enough, the screw is almost two inches from the side wall. To be blunt this leaves me feeling robbed! read more

This has been a complete nightmare. This place is such a a disorganized shit show. I have been receiving recall notices in the mail. I scheduled the free recall service to fix something to do with the airbag of my Toyota Corolla. I scheduled the appointment for 11:30. When I arrived I was told that this procedure would take an hour and a half. Meanwhile I was supposed to be at work at 1 pm. They knew I would be a little late but I'm not sure I will be able to make it now at all. It has been 3 and a half hours and counting. I was told that I would have to wait another hour and a half. So I will have waited over 5 hours for a procedure that was supposed to last 2.5 hours. It will be over twice as long as what I was promised. This place is so unprofessional. I will never go to another Koons Toyota as long as I live. This has been a complete nightmare and total mistake. Koons Toyota may end up getting me fired from my job. Don't ever come here. But I am here to tell you that this is the second best buying experience I've ever had ;) First contact via email, set up appointment, smooth and easy. Second, I met Samantha (who is involved in internet sales, I believe), very personable but a brief encounter. Next, I met Joe - a really cool guy who was adept at reading everything about my demeanor. That is a great talent! He was not at all pushy, chatted just enough, and shared his enthusiasm for my test drive. Now let's talk about Tyrone. That man is a straight-up awesome guy! Hey, this isn't my first rodeo and I know all the tricks - he didn't play one. OK, well, to be honest, the last part of showing "options" in financing, that's a bit of a trick. But it wasn't awful. He was so personable and straightforward in answering questions! And dude! the man is recoving from open-heart surgery! But anyway ... It was mildly grueling to spend 4+ hours there. But that was mainly because once I drove the vehicle I found via AARP, I was sold. The rest was details of figuring out the financials. In the end, I drove away SO HAPPY that I got the vehicle I wanted! And the payment was lower than I expected (HINT: buy one, a la carte, "extra" service like a warranty or something, and you get a longer term at lower interest!! who knew???) I truly can't express how genuinely easy this whole thing was. I purchased my Highlander. The sunglass holder is not working, and I request for replacement, which was declined. The sharks are weak and don't work as it should be to control the jumps and hits hard, broken taillight, which was discussed and refused to fix it either. Title processing is nightmare as I had to call them and request update, I would say poor customer service. GPS screen dims when turn on the headlights and impact the visibility and even though showed it, still told that's normal! No information on oil change and lubricants, which were changed and if need to be replace? They play football as bug passing and end of the day, I need to pay for service and parts that shouldn't have. There are two safety recalls that only mentioned recall and wasn't explain properly. Do not buy a used car from Koons Toyota Annapolis! They sold us a LEMON! Purchased a Toyota Camry in April 2023. Maintenance light came on in June 2023. We took it in for service today and service told us the car wasn't safe to drive and required over $5000 in service! They didn't even know how it could have passed inspection! How unethical and shady can a business that is supposed to be reputable be!! This car wasn't purchased at a rinky dink dealer it was purchased a KOONS Toyota of Annapolis! Obviously shady used car dealers are everywhere and Koons Toyota is one of them. Look elsewhere if your in the market for a used car!! Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. read more

I just wanted to reach out to you about the service I have gotten from the guys here at Koons Annapolis. From our first time meeting sales extraordinaire Mauricio to Mr. Katan and Jayda from finance, this team is amazing. My daughter and I went there in February of this year 2023 and got a Toyota Corolla 2015 and in July of 2023 she was involved in an accident that totaled her car. I called Mr. Katan and he told me to come to see them and will see what he could do. I was so worried not knowing what we were going to do for her to get back and forth to work. We went to see Mr. Mauricio and Mr. Katan in July and we worked out getting a 2018 Camry with the help of this team we would have not been able to do that. Purchased a 2019 Genesis G70 from the Used car sales department back in July 2022, and realized after a day of driving it that the cruise control is inoperative. Car is under full factory warranty so I thought, no big deal but here it is, 7 months later and I've made 6 payments on a car with no cruise control. I think they sold it to me that way, and not coming off that point. I contacted the Sales person, Claire and asked that I be given a copy of the scan report and she what she sent me isn't close to the report requested. Have used Koons service department for my Camry and always was so happy with service provided - not so with the Sales department, and I will never buy another car from them again. Can't wait to eventually get the cruise control fixed so I can sell this car and do what I should have done in the first place..... read more

Koons Annapolis Toyota Barbara was very pleasant and did her job but the dealership doesn't take ownership in Bait and Switch and apparently their online prices are just suggestions not your walk out the door price . I would suggest Browns Toyota or Heritage in Catonsville if you want the price you see online - if you want to pay more just call Annapolis they are happy to take your money ! read more
