Kookie Korner was where I got my affordable sweet fix whenever I passed by Shang from my then-workplace. I would get a chocolate chip cookie, sometimes a brownie, and sometimes a flavored polvoron, like the marbled one, and my sugar craving was already satisfied.
But my sweetest and most delicious Kookie Korner experience is not what it's known for (cookies), but of one of its cakes. Tasted during one of my then-officemate's birthday, it was good old chocolate cake with generous chocolate icing and a decadent caramel filling. I didn't expect it to be surprisingly good and addicting. It's definitely one of the best classic chocolate cakes I have ever tasted, even up to now.
They have other cakes too, like ube, strawberry, and sans rival. They even have pies like banana cream pie and walnut pie. I haven't tried them yet, though. It's the chocolate cake that really stuck for me. read more
