Another unconventional ice cream serving! Wow, Filipino summer is absolutely grinding up ice cream…read morebusinesses all around. Anyway, Masatami Ice Cream is a personal favorite, especially when I am not in the mood to have cup/cakes, halo-halo, pies, overly-sweet fast food sundaes and others for dessert. I always see a long line when I pass by the Masatami stall, and one day, I finally discovered why. They're delicious, unique, and definitely generous in serving size! I recommend the Cream Cheese Ice Cream or the Nutella one! While waiting for your turn, witness how they shave the ice and "shred" the ice cream into smooth, heavenly texture and taste of this lovely dessert. For a hot day or after a huge meal, try Masatami Ice Cream!

I discovered these guys during a hot summer afternoon while cooling off in SM North EDSA. If you…read moreknow Philippine summers, you can probably guess how bad it was. Despite the aircon, it was still that kind of summer where you want to drink everything in sight. So naturally, you'd try and find something else to help you cool you down. But what did I want? Not a shake. They seemed too heavy for what I wanted. Not ice cream. Still not what I was looking for. Juice? Soda? And then I saw people carting around massive balls of shaved ice. My previous experiences with shaved ice cones weren't exactly pleasant. They always seemed to be with ice that was too coarse and ended up being tasteless balls of minced ice after a while. But these looked different so... why not. Time for Masatami to prove me wrong. And they did. So, the first thing they did right was with the texture. This is based more on a Hawaiian style shaved ice so you get ice that's more finely shaved rather than the crushed ice variant most people are used to seeing. Its also this texture that lets the syrup mix in properly so you're not left wondering "now what do I do with this ball of tasteless frozen water?" after a few minutes. Come to think of it, when it melts, it tastes more like a tasty sugary drink. Their bestseller seems to be this rainbow shaved ice but I'm a bit of a purist. Even if you can mix in all these flavors, I still prefer sticking to just one or two. You also have an option to add in Azuki beans, vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of condensed milk. Personally I go with the milk. It really pulls the flavors together. If you're looking for something simple to either cool you off or as dessert after a heavier meal, I'd say head over to Masatami and pick a couple of flavors. It's a great dessert that's both refreshing and light.

They serve almost all cake flavors, from chocolate, green tea pistachio, cheesecake, mango, to creme brulee. I recommend the Mango Cheesecake, the Red Velvet cupcakes (order two, it'll be worth it!), and their oh-so-sweet White Chocolate Hot Drink. Before sitting on one of their comfy chairs, take a look at their fridge near the counter. Feast your eyes on their mouth-watering cakes and try your best not to order one whole piece. Tip: try out their salads first, as you'll surely want to gulp gallons of water if you order nothing but desserts!

This is why I made a compromise with myself; each time I come back to Parvati, I'll be trying a different dessert, so I can pick a favorite. So far, my favorite is the Chocolate Dome. Nope, I changed my mind; my fave is the Frozen Brazo de Mercedes. I mean... the Triple Decker Chocolate Cheesecake? Okay, fine, they're all my favorites! These desserts are so delicious in their own ways that I really can't decide which one I like the most. The Chocolate Dome has a smooth Nutella cream center covered in a layer of chocolate ganache. On the other hand, The Frozen Brazo is just the perfect combination of a Graham base and layers of custard, mango ice cream, and meringue. Last but not the least, the Triple Decker Chocolate Cheesecake is awesome for cheesecake and chocolate lovers given its wonderful blend of salty and sweet. Also, from what I've experienced, Parvati offers free coffee to go along with your desserts on weekdays! Now I want to go and get some dessert!

The Main Event Original Mille Crepe Custard Creampuff Salted Caramel Banana Mocha Jelly Was very curious with the mille crepe -- an icing within layers and layers of crepe (counted my slice, total of 13 layers) were delicately piled up and the result was heavenly good!! It wasn't very sweet, which was good 'coz I was overloaded with sweets that day. The custard was pretty great, too. Although my partner said that the creampuff was less flavorful than other local creampuffs in the market. The bread barely tasted at all and the filling didn't compensate the whole thing. Oh well. The Salted Caramel Banana was a winner! It was served to us with a small banana candy on top!! How cute!! It tasted like liquified banana cake. The Mocha Jelly's jelly was so small, it fitted through a normal-sized straw (whereas other cafes who offer jelly fraps that needs to use bigger straws). The drink wasn't sweet, just the way I like my mocha fraps should be. More of dark, unsweetened cocoa thing. One thing I've noticed was their location. They only have a kiosk in Trinoma Cinema level, seating capacity was around 20. It'll be nicer to have a separate store premise.

Mmm I'm drooling just remembering the taste LOL.

I went here with friends and we got a booth upstairs. It wasn't too loud so I was able to get some studying done. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte and it was good! Maybe kind of pricey it was 160P. Didn't try the food but the cakes are 100 plus for a slice. Come here for the studying environment. It is very cute. I was here on a Friday night and it wasn't completely packed. Hopefully I can go here earlier in the day so I can really study all day here. It is open until 3am! My issue is that there is no wifi...only good thing is that less distractions but sometimes you just need some good wifi while studying. Excited to come back here and study even more :)

But what I love about this cafe is their booths for seating. If you are fond of sitting in the floor or lying down, then this place is for you! It's a great place to hang out with your friends, chill and it is also a great place for study. They have ample electric outlets which make them also a great place to work or charge your gadgets. One downside is that they don't have wifi, which is one of the things I consider for a perfect hangout place. But if you do want to really talk and hangout with your friends, this will be a good place for you.
