This review is directly linked to my review of Marco Polo Manila, because I felt that Café Pronto deserves its own review. Why you ask?
Simple: because I fell in love with their chocolate-dipped croissants. Allow me to elaborate.
Now when I went to tour the facilities of Marco Polo Manila, I was shown around by friend/sister Ms. Tablante, who capped the tour with a visit to the café at the ground floor, Café Pronto. I was shown a delectable selection of pastries, cakes and dainties that, to be honest, sorely tempted my diabetic heart. I barely held on, politely declining tasting the food, until the magic word was mentioned: coffee. I was hooked on an offer of black coffee (large), and coffee quickly became coffee with a chocolate-dipped croissant. This could make me wax poetic.
How do I describe it? It was warm, buttery goodness, dipped in smooth, milk chocolate, each flaky bite offering a soft, yet tangible, sensation that makes me close my eyes and brings me back to that really chic café.
Perfect for a casual tete-a-tete, or a light conversation between friends who are looking for a great place that's just private enough, this café, with its well-lit, funky décor, is a must try. read more
