I called The Legacy this week to set up an appointment to drop off a donation of 4 totes. When I…read morearrived I had 4 totes AND a few other things. I was lucky they were able to take in the extra items. When they agree to whatever you are bringing do not bring extra. 4 totes is 4 totes. If you have more either warm them that you are bringing more or schedule another appointment. Their space is finite and they only have so much room at any given time. Also no glass items, no picture frames, etc. Glass is a valid safety concern for them with the kids that come in with their folks to shop. Really appreciated how straightforward they were. Will definitely call and set up another appointment when I sort through my next round of crafting donations and promise to stick to the agreed upon quantity. 4 is 4 not 4 AND...

I was in there not long ago, about a week almost two, I needed some stretching band or some fabric…read morethat would stretch, I bought a fanny pack and it was too small so I was going to alter it. I'm a man, I get that there may not be many men that come into a sewing shop. I also don't care to dress like I'm rich or well off I dress like I did when I was homeless. Anyway, I went in there with my girlfriend, and the women working behind the counter had attitude and this unwarranted disrespect from the get go with me; they wouldn't even look at me or talk to me when I was the one going in there to buy something as a customer and I was the one speaking to them asking where I could find what I was looking for or if they had it. They only looked and talked to my girlfriend, and when I said I needed the material they said a yard minimum mandatory, I didn't need a yard but okay, I tried on multiple accounts in this short lived interaction to be polite and push their disrespect off to the side and be peaceful, but the disrespect continued no matter what the neglect of speaking to me or looking at me continued, and the sense of urgency to get us out of the store was strong, and at a high volume. I did ask "do you all have a problem with men or something?" Trying to see if any men have come in there causing trouble before was my only intent with that question; the woman got so beside herself, and told me I'm not a nice man and had asked why I'm asking that, and I pointed out how they wouldn't look or talk to me when I was the one asking to buy something. They did not care, they flipped the script and acted like I was the problem the whole time. I was so irked about this, because I'm tired of dealing with people that look at me and judge me and treat like s**t just because of how I'm dressed, it doesn't even matter how polite and well spoken I am, but in this instance it was all so unwarranted and unkind and unnecessary. I will be going back there, because I like to sew, and keep my clothes as long as I can because it is hard to find a direct fit. I hope my experience improves with them. The woman who had made the biggest of problems, had worn overalls that had been a tan rust color, with a lot of bumblebees everywhere on them. I was so ready to get what I paid for and get out that I didn't catch any names. That kind of behavior is what urges me to buy online, when really I just want to support local places and buy what I need, no one should have to deal with getting ignored judged and mistreated as a customer or a person just on how they LOOK. If you are working or volunteering, or have problems in your life, or even sh**ty customers, it doesn't give any right to be disrespectful or judgmental or dismissive or any kind of rude behavior towards anyone, especially if it was not warranted. Thank you...

I had such a genuinely great experience here, and it was all because of Maria. She has the kind of…read moreenergy that makes you feel instantly comfortable, like you're talking to someone who actually gets why needlepoint matters. I walked in thinking I'd just browse a little, and she somehow turned it into one of the most fun, easy shopping experiences I've had in a long time. Maria didn't just point me toward a wall of canvases. She asked what I liked, what my style was, what my mom might enjoy, and she actually listened. She pulled out options I never would've found on my own, explained the details without making me feel overwhelmed, and helped me pick out a canvas for myself that I'm honestly obsessed with. She also helped me choose one for my mom that feels so perfectly her it almost made me emotional. There's something really refreshing about someone who knows their craft and still treats you like a person instead of a transaction. Maria made the whole visit feel personal, thoughtful, and genuinely fun.

First thing is I love needlepoint, I'm a huge customer…read more I was a long time customer (40 years) of TheNeedlepointer in Edmonds, WA. This store was sold to someone in California and moved to California. In this sale/transition, I had items in the system to be finished. The wait for items during that time was a year+. Note that I invested $1K+ for the canvases and threads for these "sets" before prepaying for the finish work. The pre-paid finish work was over $1k. Previously, I've never had issues, so didn't think anything about time or $$. I knew it would show up eventually. When I got my finished items about a 1.5 years later, the finish work was all over the board and not what I asked for. I had some that were "soft" ornaments, which is what I asked for. Some where thing framed hard, some where think framed hard. The problem with this is that they were ornament "sets". So the finish work of each set didn't match. I called the new store and they told me that if I sent back the "sets" they'd send them out to have them "redone". I sent them all back at my cost and was told that it would be another year+ since they had to go back in line in the system for finishing. I agreed and then didn't think much about them. 2 years later I got a box of ripped up unfinished ornaments/needlepoint canvases with zero explanation. Imagine my shock! I called and asked "why they sent them back in the condition that they are in" . I got the run around on explanation for over a year, I kept having to send in the original paperwork and explain over and over to new people. My request was to complete the finish work that I paid for or refund the money so I could find someone to finish them on my own. They just kept giving me the run around, then a new person would respond and we'd go through the same process over and over. I am on my 5th person now. They offered me $200 to call it good. I declined. I think my next step is to take them to "quick claim court", I need to investigate how to do this. I recommend NEVER to use this company. There are so many other "needlework" shops out there that are reputable and super supportive. Its just been frustrating trying to deal with them long distance and since they don't answer their phone EVER, leaving messages and sending emails does nothing.

I found Aviva Design in an online search. I've been working with Aviva Design as our embroiderer…read morefor my work for a little over a year. Our previous embroidery company had minimum quantity requirements that we just couldn't meet for our small business. We have polos and jackets that we need embroidered a couple times a year. Most of our orders are for under 25 pieces. The Owner, Yonka, is great to work with. She has never turned away our business due to small quantity of items. We purchased polos through Aviva Design and had them embroider them. But, primarily, what I do is bring them already purchased pieces to embroider. This has never been a problem with them. Other embroidery companies I've used in the past would not embroider customer-provided items. We are very particular about what pieces of clothing we put our logos on, so finding an embroidery company that will work on our pieces we bring to them is crucial. Aviva Design ensures that your artwork design and size will look perfect on your clothing items. Yonka showed me some thread options for my last order (it was a new logo that we hadn't had embroidery on yet). I really appreciated her showing me the options for the gold color. Aviva Design consistently meets my deadlines for embroidery. Drop off and pick up of items always goes smoothly. I fully recommend Aviva Design for anyone needing embroidery!
