So we decided to try the new spot, instead of going to Panera. We won't make that choice again. From what I understand this place has been open only a few months. That's reflected in food and atmosphere. We had some good things and some bad things. I'm actually shocked I don't have food poisoning though.
We went yesterday, Labor Day Monday 9/2/2024 our order was number 8. We got a potato dog, a sweet chili Doritos dog, mango slushie, lemonade, potstickers and fries. 3 sauces. Korean BBQ (don't even consider this), teriyaki (normal teriyaki sauce) and garlic Serrano (EAT THIS SAUCE!!! Delicious and flavorful)
So. We as Americans expect corn dogs. And these aren't it. They are a version of them. So the breading is a basic dough, no flavor. Also. My breading was raw by my hot dog. Completely raw. Liquidy. This is why I'm shocked I don't have food poisoning. The chili sauce and Doritos were good though. And it seems to be a common problem when reading reviews. Oil to high and super dark on the outside and just raw inside. Which also was an issue in the potstickers. They would be delicious if they were cooked correctly, or had some kind of other texture other than a slimy inside. Probably the noodles make it extra moist. But the inside was slimy. The fries were the absolute best part of this meal. Dipped in the garlic Serrano sauce. I could eat it all day.
My friends potato dog was over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside but not as raw as mine. They were cooked together, how does that even happen ??
The dining room looks unorganized and thrown together. There's a high bar for people to sit at but no bar chairs, and the tables are in. Front of it so the bar is right at your head level. They have a photo-op wall. There was a random stack of tables in chairs in the corner.
The service was wonderful. The young lady at the front was very knowledgeable and friendly. Super nice. I think there was one other person in the store.
Bathroom was meh. Soap dispenser issues. But I agree with a review that says like they are nickel and diming you. Penny pinching.
If yall want to keep the dining room just an odd feeling then that's cool. But please do some training in the kitchen. Raw food, is never ok. We spent $35 and it definitely wasn't worth it. My lemonade was ok, but full of ice. The mango slushie was good.
And I think I agree that this isn't my age bracket spot. It's fun for social media but not good at leaving you full. Especially when you can't even eat half your $10 dog. read more
