I had a great experience with All American Plumbing, particularly Iain and his apprentice, Steve…read more I originally called because our kitchen drain had become completely backed up. I had tried troubleshooting it myself and initially thought it might be a relatively simple clog, but it became pretty clear that it needed a professional. Iain thoroughly snaked the line and got everything flowing properly again. While he was working, he also pointed out that the plumbing under our kitchen sink had a lot of smaller sections, fittings, and connections that could be simplified to minimize future issues. What I really appreciated was that it never felt like an upsell. He mentioned it simply as something I might want to consider in the future. I was actually the one who asked whether he could just take care of it while he was already there. He even hesitated because he wasn't sure he had all the necessary parts on the truck, but checked and was able to get it done. The new setup under the sink looks dramatically cleaner, simpler, and stronger. Some of the old fittings were pretty finicky, so I'm especially glad I didn't continue trying to tackle it myself. Iain and Steve spent about three hours between clearing the drain, rebuilding the piping, and making sure everything was working correctly. The pricing was also very reasonable, and Iain actually reduced the original drain-cleaning charge after I added the additional work without me even asking. Both Iain and Steve were friendly, professional, and straightforward. I also really appreciated that Iain took the time to explain what he was doing and gave me some good advice for maintaining the drains going forward. It's hard to find a plumber you feel like you can trust, and this was one of those experiences where I finished the job feeling like I had found someone I would absolutely call again. Highly recommend Iain, Steve, and All American Plumbing.

I called Chris based on his yelp reviews and proximity to his business location. We talked on the phone and he guided me through the process of making sure it wasn't just thermal expansion at the water heater. He didn't want me to pay for a new prv if it wasn't needed. In other words, he wasn't concerned with making a buck. It turned out it was the prv and he sent Mark out the next morning with a new prv. Mark is a great guy. Very personable and he had the prv installed in no time. He also came in to check that all was good with the expansion tank on the water heater. The house water pressure is perfect and stable now. The price was fair and nothing like what it would have been with a big plumbing outfit. I highly recommend!

I feel compelled to share my experience so others don't end up in the same position. I reached out…read moreto this company for help locating a hidden leak, explaining everything in detail and even providing a video to help them understand the issue. When the technician arrived, he took a quick look, flashed a light around, and glanced under the crawl space--but never actually went in to investigate. After a few minutes, he told me he couldn't find anything and suggested a costly camera inspection. At that point, I asked him a question about our dishwasher, and he ran a wire through it, pushing out a bit of food buildup. It was a small fix, and I was grateful for the help. Then came the shock--he told me I owed him $200. I was stunned. For what amounted to a flashlight glance and a quick poke at the dishwasher, it felt incredibly excessive. I was home alone and felt pressured to pay, but I walked away from that interaction feeling completely taken advantage of. Thankfully, we contacted a second plumber who actually took the time to go into the crawl space, snake the main line, and diagnose the real issue--without charging a dime for the inspection. He gave us a fair quote, fixed the problem properly, and even installed a two-way sewer cleanout. That's the kind of service that earns long-term trust. I don't normally write reviews like this, but I want others to know: do your homework. There are honest, hardworking professionals out there. Sadly, this company wasn't one of them. Reach out to Andy at Flow Right.

We had detected a sewage smell coming from one of our bathrooms and Joseph thoroughly inspected our sink, toilet and shower to see if there was anything to fix. Now, he did have to go to the store for the part (15), and I guess $105 for the base charge of visit is normal (?), but $20 for "truck" charge? Since when do you get charged for gas? He never did this before. And, when he spent almost an hour taking out my water filter under my sink, he charged me less than this five minute swap of faucet. Work is great, price not so much anymore. He told me he had driven to Rancho Bernardo before me and the client refused to pay for the house call and was complaining about the gas to get there and back for nothing. Was he making up gas charge on me, who lives four miles from him? You will see my glowing references in the past. But as a senior living on Social Security, and the fact it took five minutes to do, I think $140 was outrageous. This was double than my last visit by him. Disappointed. Great work, but I can't afford him anymore. And can't refer him as being reasonable anymore either. Should have listened to my neighbor and used his handyman. Wish him well, nice guy, but adios. AND he says senior discount. I will be 80 my next birthday. I did not see any discount on my invoice.

Our original American Standard shower mixing valve from when the house was first built in 1967…read morefailed catastrophically on New Year's Day (2025) and wouldn't shut off. We had no choice but to shut off the water for the whole house as there was no way to turn off the water just to the shower without cutting through a wall. We were able to get an appointment the next day and Mason showed up right on time. He was able to diagnose the issue, find and pick up the required parts locally, including a new chrome wall trim kit and handle, cut off the old handle (was frozen as a result of 58 years of hard water) with a saw, rebuild, reinstall, and seal the whole thing in less than 3 hours. There's absolutely no way I could have done that myself. I was convinced that it would require cutting through the wall and was expecting to have to pay a lot of money to do a full valve and piping replacement. Mason was able to do all the work in place without having to cut tile or plaster. I am extremely happy with the result and the cost I think was quite reasonable considering the time and effort it took to fix it.
