I called asking if I could stop by to get a car key cut and programmed. I was told to come in, and when I got there, I met Curtis, who took care of me no problem. He even offered insight into how I could solve an issue with the spare key I'd used to get there. Their prices are honest, they know what they're doing, and I'd recommend going here if you've got a problem that a locksmith can fix. read more

Great quick service! I needed to replace a remote car key. They cut the key and programmed it. Works perfectly!

We have an almost 50 yr old lockset that wasn't working and contacted Alex at Kona Locksmith. He replied to my email right away and asked for photos. Rod came out the next morning and was able to scavenge parts from a lockset they had saved and repair ours. It works better than ever. Amazing service from start to finish. Highly recommended. read more

Great old school locksmith. Brought in my chipped keys I got from Home Depot online. Go figure the Kailua-Kona Home Depot couldn't cut the keys for me. Kona Locksmith to the rescue. While they do not guarantee the blanks you bring to their shop, which is only fair, their professionalism at hand cutting keys is almost certain that they will get it right. Cut 3 keys for my Nissan Frontier and 2 keys for my F150, all worked perfectly, and I saved me a boat load not having to go to the dealer. Now the fun begins, programing these keys into my vehicles! read more

Went in to get some extra house keys made. They had the blanks to match my original key, and I was in and out quickly with a set of spare keys that work perfectly. Very reasonably priced as well! read more

Had a miscommunication and they took the hit. I call that great service. Thank you Kona Locksmith.

Sometimes you need a key to copy and sometimes you need some key advice and that's what Kona Locksmith does. Gratefully educated in my process, I learned what I needed to know. Mahalo read more

If I could give zero stars I would. First of all, our scheduled time was 12/12:30pm, and the locksmith came after 1pm. After his late arrival he was having difficulty unlocking the locks on the door, (which is fine). My mom gave him a polite suggestion and tip based off seeing other locksmiths work on her door before, and the locksmith got extremely offended to the point where he lashed out on my mom and told her to, "find another locksmith", and just drove off. Now my mom takes full responsibility for telling someone/giving suggestions to someone in their own profession, but the way this man acted was inappropriate, unprofessional, and immature. I would NOT recommend this place of service to anyone. I have never seen anyone act this way at their job. Instead go to 808 Locksmiths. We called them right after and they're were quick, very kind and professional. read more

Great service! Our key broke in our lock of our business and we were not able to gain entry. Contacted Kona Locksmith, spoke with Tracy who was very friendly and helpful. They set a technician out, who was able to fix our lock and we were able to open - business as usual. Fast, Friendly and Reasonable! read more

They helped me get back in my car getting locked out in Kona on Ali Dr. They were fast and communication was key. Thank you!

They should not have any stars They will not honor the warranty on what they sell Beware to the consumer and they will not inform you that you have to call the manufacturer and have them call Kona Locksmith for warranty service read more

Wonderful service!! We had to have a key duplicated here and they were nice and quick. The only thing is the original key that was made here didn't fit any of the duplicator templets at Home Depot, so if you get a lock here you may not be able to get the key copied else where. Other then that this place is easy to find and has good service...check the times because from what I remember they close early. read more

Kona Locksmith - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

I have used Kona Locksmith on two occasions. The first was to install a KabaLock, which is a process. That was in 2/2018. They educated me about that and guided me through the process, and it has worked well for us. The second was recently, 3/2019 - a latch broke on a bedroom door, which was found by our on-island contact. It's tough owning a vacation rental when you are 3000 miles away, but via long distance, we coordinated the repair / replacement. The in-office staff was responsive with great follow-through, and the tech was also responsive, going out of his way to make sure the door was fixed before the next guests arrived within a 48 hour period. I am very pleased with the professionalism, kindness, customer service and can-do attitude of the folks at Kona Locksmith and highly recommend them. read more

Fast easy service. Had to get a couple keys made. After having to go to Walmart twice because the keys did not work. Decided to come to a specialist. Bought a condo in Kona first day door knob fell off in my hand trying to get out so I called Kona locksmith they sent someone right out and wouldn't you know it the latch was broken and the knob had been manhandled by the contractor, of course it was a special latch and was going to take God knows how long to get it in the mean time I was propping weights against the door as a lock. Well the tech went back to the shop and found a used latch which he installed and then he cleaned up my mangled door knob and guess what it all works. I also then installed a security screen and I had them come back out and keyed that to the door they just repaired, it wasn't cheap by any means but quality work and parts never are. If and when I need a locksmith again I know where I am calling. Thank you Julie and all read more

I was told this company was top notch and I agree. We needed a deadbolt installed in our Mauna Lani condo. They had the deadbolt in stock to match the other hardware. The made a timely appointment during our short stay. They called to offer us an earlier appointment when they had a cancellation. The installer arrived on time and was professional during the install. Everything was done to our expectations. read more

We moved offices a few weeks ago and needed the locks re-keyed. I stopped by their office in the morning, and their locksmith was able to re-key our locks, and fix an improperly installed lock the same day. The service was fast and professional. The cost reasonable. We are satisfied customers. read more

I really don't understand all the 5 star reviews. This business gets one star due to they confirm and need to see proof of actual ownership of the residence. Otherwise, the whole experience was horrible customer service and unprofessional. I was in need of a locksmith due to being locked out. The lady that answers the phone is somewhat unprofessional. She said "We don't just go out and break into to places." She should have been less offensive and said something more like "We are required to confirm your identity and make sure the person calling for our service actully resides there" Anything besides accusing people of being criminals. Then, they were over 30 min late, and the locksmith took offense when I offered a tip. I polite and respectful when offered the tip, as I noticed he was having much difficulty. I understand that, that must have been annoying/offensive, and the locksmith could have just put me in my place. Instead he just abruptly left and said "Find yourself another locksmith" very rude and unprofessional. Talk about overly sensitive and touchy, he could have just said "Ma'am I am an experienced professional, and I think I know what I'm doing, please let me concentrate on my work." Anything would have been better than running off like a bratty child. What a sensitive ego! Please do yourself a favor and do not use this place, especially when locked out and your stress/tension is high anyway. We called 808locksmith for fast friendly service instead. read more
