My sister was craving for Soba and my mom suggested we both eat at Nadaifuji Soba, which I thought was waaaay out of our budget and the sauces are pre-made, thus it being processed and my sister can't eat that stuff because her skin is allergic to seafood. So I said, let's give Komoro Soba a chance. My family and I have been living in Ortigas for more than 10 years and not once we gave Komoro Soba a chance. Today was the day. My sister and I step inside Komoro Soba and there was a good amount of customers. It's pay as you order and my sister got a zarusoba with kakiage tempura and Pepsi, and gyoza, all for 255php, what a steal! But what got me astounded was my order, which was katsudon with iced tea and kakiage tempura, all for 186php!!!! 186PHP?! It didn't even reach the 200php mark! I was shock. If we ate at nadaifuji Soba, we would have counted how much we should have paid for but in Komoro Soba?? We didn't have to do any of that! Now, for the quality of the food, it was not bad. It wasn't spectacular but for us, it's pretty decent. My katsudon wasn't über tender but it was okay for the price I paid for. The kakiage was crispy and slick with oil. The gyoza was crispy but the filling was mediocre, good enough but I wouldn't recommend it. If you're looking for a decent, cheap, Japanese fix, then Komoro Soba is your restaurant. I mean, the quality I didn't really put in mind but the price and the value of the food really made me think, wow this is great! Don't expect to have high standards for this restaurant or it will disappoint you. Expect that this joint is easy on your wallet and it will solve all your Japanese craving! :)
And by the way, if you guessed how much me and my sister ate, it costed us both 480php ONLY! For two people at the price of 480php??!! Oh come on! This is amazing! It didn't even touch the 500php mark! This is wonderful! I recommend this for those who want to go easy on the wallet and who want a cheap yet satisfying meal! :) read more
