Unfortunately, I don't spend a lot on jewelry, but I go in every year to order a charm for my daughter's bracelet. Even though this is not a large purchase, they always offer to clean my rings for free, and return them to me all shiny and displayed on velvet along with a piece of chocolate. Classy! :) When the price of gold skyrocketed, it seems they began carrying more and more upscale alternatives like colorful ICE watches and Chamilia charms (compatible with Pandora). They also have a Godiva counter, making it the perfect place to pick up a gift of jewelry and chocolate for a special occasion. What woman wouldn't LOVE that? Don't be shy to stop in and browse. Cooper & Binkley is interested in courting customers for the long haul. They realize if they win you over now, you will think of them for your next milestone. On another note, as the parent of two students in Brighton Area Schools, their annual first grade Mother's Day event is ADORABLE. They work with the elementaries to have the kids paint portraits of their moms, then display them during a gallery-style opening complete with hors d'oeuvres and goodie bags. She was trying to support small business as we felt they would take more pride in their work and we have been shopping here for a long time (as well as our families). The worker took the ring and said it would be no problem. It took over 2 weeks and when we got it back the rings weren't even touching. My wife was so upset. My mother in law took the ring back in and they told her it wasn't possible to get the rings closer. We wanted to keep our business with them but they left us no choice. We took it down the street to F.A.O. Jewelers. They were in awe. We dropped it off yesterday morning and by 4pm today they had it done. Completely re-soldered and looks perfect. They made me aware that many people have had this same issue. Very sad. Hate to write bad reviews against small businesses and wish they could change my mind. If you are young couple looking to save money anywhere you can, just take it to F.A.O. Unfortunately we didn't have $130 to spare but we were left with no choice. I went in first by myself with the ring and David looked at the ring and thought it could be enlarged and detailed to an 80% match. He also had someone show me new rings, but he noted they would all be $1,000+ due to the current price of gold. I was entirely prepared to buy a new ring. David offered to sell me a new ring he had in stock so my husband had something to open on our anniversary and said we could come back in and either get the ring I bought sized or let him pick another ring if he preferred another style. While he made that offer, he suggested I come back in with my husband so he could be properly sized and we could try to enlarge his existing ring. I brought my husband back the following week and we learned his ring size has gone from a 9 when we were married to an 11 1/4. I didn't think there was any way the ring could be expanded that much, but David talked to Bobby and they thought they could do it to an 85% match for $200. We decided to try the resizing route because my husband was sentimental about his original ring, but with the understanding that if we didn't like the match we would replace it with a new ring. When I picked up the ring, I was amazed! I could not see any imperfections. Perhaps you could with a jeweler's ring, but nobody is looking at a ring on someone's hand with a jeweler's ring. Today is our 32nd wedding anniversary. The resized ring was on my husband's hand (his choice) before he even got in the shower. This is why I will continue to patronize Golden Gifts - David and Bobby value long term customers. We were an easy upsell and it was only with the recommendation of David that we went the route of resizing. This was to Golden Gifts' short-term detriment, but ensured we will remain long term customers regardless of when we live.

Large showcases of graded and ungraded coins line the cases.The 2 gentlemen that run the business are courteous, funny, and very professional. They have a very nice stock of old and new mainly American silver and gold coins. They also have a large selection of albums, coin flips, boxes and other coin and currency holders. The prices on these items are very fair and are cheaper than any online vendor. As well as selling silver and gold, they are also buyers. I recently brought in some junk silver I had laying around and we came to a very fair price. No low balling or hard sells, just an honest and fair price. They even have a large flat screen TV showing you the current spot price for silver and this page can also be found on their website. So before you walk into that door you know what the prices are. This place really does feel more like an antique store than it does a coin shop. If you're interested in buying or selling silver and gold or you just want an honest appraisal of what your items value is then stop in. I think this is the best coin shop in the Detroit area. Tucked away in a tiny corner of South Lyon you should definitely check this place out. The woman there clearly remembered my order as I spoke to her less than 24 hrs eariler. I showed him the online sale information and he told me he couldn't pay that. he was clearly irritated . I took time out of my day to drive out there . Never again will I use this shop as they dont honor their sales agreement.
