So I will preference this review on the fact that I have been to a lot of weed dispensaries in my time. My age is irrelevant, but I am older then 98% of the employees at any of these dispensaries. So today I needed some smoke. I happen to notice KOLAS had a specific brand of flower I like for a little cheaper then my normal dispensary, and they were 4 miles closer. So at the price of gas I gave them a chance. First off, When you walk in you feel like your in a 90's flashback underground weed store. There is a small room maybe 12x12 with one guy behind a computer, who by the way is super rude!! there's 8 chairs with 10 people waiting. They stack your drivers license up like dominos and then you sit and wait, and wait, and wait. They only allow 2 or 3 in at a time. Once you get thru the door your in a U shaped room where everything is behind the counter, no touching, no looking ahead of time, you want to see something you ask and they hand it to you to look at. ONE at a time, UGH! No other dispensary is like this, period. No wonder there backed up takes someone 20 minutes to pick a product. There are no prices displayed you have to ask about EVERYTHING. They really need to get with the times, sitting or standing for 10 to 15 minutes to get in a room to buy your product is ridiculous!! I will never comeback that's for sure. Everyone I've worked with at Kolas has been great and very knowledgeable. I have switched to the location on Main Ave. as my preferred location. Mikayla in particular has been exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable and has gone the extra mile to help redefine how i consume my products and has helped me discover new products that I otherwise may not havr experimented with. I've come for years and this staff is so sweet, but today I'm not sure what happened. They didn't have my usual carts so I took a recommendation from one of the employees, but when I get home the cart doesn't fit my battery. I'm already short on time and have to rush back to return these, but I'm told that since the package was opened (although unused,) it can't be returned. Strangely enough, they said if it was damaged they'd accept the return. So I suppose an unused, open package isn't okay, but a used, damaged and open package would be okay to return. The manager on duty did what she could, but I'm still short of almost $40 for something I can't use. Really bummed. read more

I have been going to the same kolas for over 6 years......I've had my vet discount since day one........now you have a new system that's great.......I don't normally have an issue.......but at the kolas on main, which is the kolas I visit every two or three days......I never have an issue getting my vet discount.......except when you have a child manager take over.......the kids name is Zack.....he is rude and disrespectful and doesn't know the first thing on customer service. He is the ONLY manager that harassed me about showing him my veterans card. I already did that, that's why I'm in the system and have been and I've been very clear about not bringing it back just to please one kid. I'm sorry but no kid like that should ever be in charge of a store on his own.....and as I was leaving I got nothing but apologies from the other manager that was just clocking on and couldn't believe Zack did what he did. I've been going to that dispensary since before he could probably legally smoke. So I think it's funny that he thinks he runs that place and that I won't get my discount. I have been going to Kolas Main Ave, formerly Dr's Orders, for a very long time. The better part of the last 10 years. Here's a couple tips for the people in the reviews who have no self-awareness and no personal accountability. Order online. You don't wait in long lines. Most of the time ordering online you may have to wait on 1 or 2 ppl ahead of you, even if the waiting area is packed. To this day, I don't understand why people don't order online. It's way more convenient and you spend 5min at the store. No one has ever pressured me to spend money there. I was already there spending money. I will be tomorrow. :P $35 is the low end. lol You can get grams of some pretty good dab for $20 (before the 30% tax the county puts on it). $35 is nothing. Give what you want to get. If you've got an attitude, you're probably gonna get an attitude. That's how life works. Kolas Main Ave gets an A+ rating for me, even though they charge a hair more for some products than their competitors, except The Sanctuary. They are outright robbing people, and they are right around the corner from this Main Ave store. Go to Kolas. Save some money. read more

This dispensary, formerly Doctor's Orders, is tucked in a little industrial complex and not visible from the main nearby road, Raley Blvd, so use your maps to locate it. During the pandemic all orders are done online. You can opt for delivery, curbside or indoor pick up. Make sure to have your ID and a mask, both are required. Kolas Dispensary has a handful of locations around the Sacramento area. I was here the day before Christmas Eve and it was VERY busy. I had chosen to do curbside pick up but it was so busy, I chose to go inside for a quicker experience. They have a security guard at the door who also helps with the flow of the customers. Not sure why the bad reviews, but then again maybe I'm low maintenance. I don't smoke, just to drinks, edibles and tinctures. I usually know what I want and order express. It's a big plus they can do card, while The Sanctuary does not. They have more products in store than online. From time to time I'll do express and pre-order online. Then take a good hard look in-store to add more things. They have Not Your Father's Root Beer but it's never online. read more

GET IT TOGETHER! It was bad enough once upon a time I had a bunch of points built up for their old reward system and all of a sudden proof it just disappeared before I could use it and nobody knows what happened to it all. Then there's the fact that I don't like the idea they want a copy of your ID through your phone before they give you an order. That's just data mining. So I went along with it. I put in an order yesterday, I showed up and while I had called in one unit I just wanted to pick up one more eighth. The young man there gave me some bullshit speech about how that would be a disservice to the rest of the clients because technically I jumped in front of them. Your are gosh damn right I did because I put in an express order...Like Pony Express...yippee kai yay mofo! Then he hands me some bullshit like that. He tells me I can go outside and wait and I was all yeah yeah in totally agreement except out for 30 seconds then realized it was bullshit too. I got up demanded my ID back as another woman was complaining she hadn't been seen for 45 minutes and 3-4 went ahead of her. Then they were doing a mad shuffle to try to find the ID. I can only hope they didn't just blindly give it to another customer who walked out with it. At that point I told everybody I'm going over to Lemonade or head to Cookies downtown! These guys are greedy expensive. Their customer service absolutely sucks and their wait times are long. So YES! Damn right I hopped ahead of time. I'd expected to be treated as such because that was the system I used. Not my fault everybody else wants to sit in a queue when there's another avenue. Literally would have taken him 15 seconds to grab another bag. The crew and I have decided we're done with Kolas unless they undergo a major change. Especially the one on Arden Boulevard and the one right off of it by 160. They make you feel like if you don't have a Corvette you don't f'ing belong there. Good luck to you guys but there are so many other better places to go to. I hope your owners get hold of this and it pisses them off and while you're at it a Perfect Union is a total waste of money. You're better off going to Valley Health Options hidden away on Auburn. Kolas is known for epic failures in the customer service department and they are continuing the tradition. Took it in as they said and found out it's defective and won't work due to missing holes. They refused to do anything. I didn't want money, just replacement or credit. $30+ dollars down the drain. 7 day policy shouldn't matter if defective. Was hopeful but very disappointed. Left here just feeling kind of sucky. We came here knowing what we were looking for. I don't live in the area and my mom brought me here because she had had positive experiences with the dispensary that was previously here. While we were waiting outside, the security guard was very chatty. Which is fine, except he was very condescending. Long story short, I had mentioned to my mom what I was looking for, which prompted the guard to then lecture me on what type of product I was looking for. Despite me having already expressed what I was looking for.... Later, when they asked us to go inside, he HELD my mother back (physically - she is 65 years old and this was not necessary) and very sternly asked, "you're actually here to shop, right?" Both me and my mom were confused by this question. We had a couple other similar, weird interactions with him that left both me and my mom feeling kind of off - as if we were just not communicating well. Thinking that maybe WE were the weird ones (which is super possible) we decided not to give up yet. My mom checked in first, and the receptionist was very mumbly - and this was from BEHIND a window, WITH a mask on. Then the receptionist was visibly irritated when my mom had a hard time understanding her (again, she is a 65 year old woman, some grace would be nice). I then left my ID with her while she checked me in. At this point I asked my mom if she wanted to just leave, because we were getting such weird energy from the place. She agreed and when we went to ask for my ID back and explain that we were just gonna head out, the receptionist literally rolled her eyes and THREW my ID back (it basically bounced under the security window LOL, awkward). The host in the lobby was super nice and positive. She stated she was new - wish I had gotten her name to mention here, because she was the only positive thing about the place. Overall... Even if you're the only one I'm waiting room guarantee you'll be waiting 15mins MINIMUM. ( THEY NEED A TIME LIMIT PER CUSTOMER) They lack foundation and structure. They all just goof around and talk. Big yikes... If all you care about is selection and need something quick, this place will do. If you care about customer service and community care, maybe go elsewhere. It was my first time at Kolas today and there was no signage posted out front telling you where to go for in store or for pick up. I went around what appeared to be the pick up line only to have one of the security guards throw up his hands and make faces at me. I rolled down my window to figure out what to do and was met with barking questions and eventual directions to continue to the parking lot (like I was already doing). I got checked in just fine but as I was waiting to go in, I over hear the security guards turning away a couple of Hispanic men saying they couldn't accept foreign IDs. This is not true and was appalling to watch. For a company that supposedly supports black lives, fuck brown ones I guess? I encourage Kola staff to actually read the BCC regulations - anyone over the age of 21 with a valid government ID can be let in, they don't have to be a CA resident or even a United States citizen. Anyway. The bud tenders were fine, the product selection was fine, but this place is rough around the edges. read more

Zero stars. Made the mistake of ordering a gram instead of my usual 3.5. Did the express order and when the lady outside read out loud 1 gram I was like oh, no I messed up. She said go inside so they can take care of your refund. I was going to swap it out and buy more. So this guy with long beard comes up to me and says "I can't refund, it's like McDonald's, with COVID we can't take it back" Bro McDonald's? He always helps me pick out what I want when I'm unsure or when I want to try new strains and I've never been disappointed from his recommendations!
