Ok usually I do these reviews on Weedmaps , however this place is worth a yelp . I finally stopped by The Sanctuary with my husband, and honestly, I knew I was going to like the place before I even walked through the door. As we were heading inside, I passed a girl coming out who looked so much like Billie Eilish that my brain completely short-circuited and I accidentally called her "Billie Eyelash." Thankfully, she knew exactly what I meant and laughed about it. That little interaction pretty much set the tone for the whole visit: good vibes, friendly people, and nobody taking themselves too seriously. Once inside, the experience only got better. As a first-time customer, I was able to take advantage of the new customer discount, which is always appreciated. More importantly, the staff actually took the time to help me figure out what I wanted. I wasn't looking for someone to point at the most expensive thing on the shelf and send me on my way. I had questions, I explained what I normally buy, and the budtender took the time to walk me through options that actually fit what I was looking for. Shoutout to AK, who was incredibly patient and helpful while my husband and I stood there trying to make decisions. I even managed to get what might be the most studious-looking photo ever taken of a budtender. The man looked like he was preparing a dissertation on flower selection. I ended up picking up some flower and a pre-roll, and I left feeling like I got exactly what I came for instead of settling for whatever happened to be on special that day. What stood out most to me, though, was the atmosphere. Everybody working there had their own personality. You'd see someone covered in tattoos helping a customer on one side, someone else who looked like they should be coaching a high school sports team on the other, and another person who looked like their mom's life goal was making sure they stayed focused on school. Somehow it all worked perfectly. The staff was a mix of completely different people, but everybody was welcoming, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. That's the kind of place I enjoy coming back to. It felt comfortable, not intimidating, and definitely not pretentious. The Sanctuary is also dangerously close to my house, which means they may have accidentally gained a regular customer. Great service, great atmosphere, helpful staff, and a genuinely welcoming vibe. Sometimes you walk into a business and immediately feel like you belong there. This was one of those places. And at the end of the day, it's kind of funny that a bunch of completely different people can come together over one common interest. That's exactly the energy this place has. And I hope no one took any disrespect for my version of my first introduction because I mean everything with the most sincerity and love . read more

I was seriously disappointed by my experience! When I got there... I was a new customer. They were having issues with their system... for checking people in. They needed to scan my ID. (They also take all your info. Including my phone number.) It kept formatting in a way that wouldn't scan. After the 9th or 10th try it worked. I wasn't stressing off of it. The gal at the front desk was nice and trying her best. They weren't busy and ai wasn't in a rush. Yet, when I found out they don't carry the Stiiizy gummies. I was like... that sucks but oh well. I would have tried another but all of their gummies were $25.00!!! I pay like $12.00!!! I get the same amount and the same concentration. They are to help me sleep. I was going to buy $60.00 worth. Which at Stiiizy, would be like 6 bags! Which would have 10 in each baggy. Not here! It would have only been 2 packages and a total of 20 pieces. Not worth the price. My friend bought a bunch of stuff. It wasn't till we were about 15 minutes away. That I realized that I left my ID. No one on staff said anything!!! Yet, they clearly had to know. They didn't call me and let me know. By that time they were closed. It wasn't till the next day. When I called them and they checked. Thank GOD they had it! Not that it was in question but who knows. The most frustrating thing was... I called and got put on hold for 8 minutes!!! (This was the manger's line!) I don't think they were coming back on the phone. I called back and got a lady this time. She was not friendly at all and rude!!! Which is surprising since the staff there are so friendly! I guess management doesn't believe in good customer service!?!? On top of that all. When I went to pick up the ID. There was no apology! Nothing!!! Oh and they had easily 50 to a 100 IDs stuffed in this container. Like an old tin money container. Like you use at a garage sale. To hold all the money! I bet they haven't reached out to any of those customers!!! Which is really bad customer service and retention! If you are missing your ID and have gone here. I love this place. It's quiet, the bud tenders make you feel like family. However it has become so corporate over the years I've been coming here. Bree and Chet have turned it into something that should never exist in this type of space. We used to get in strangers cars for this product and fought for it to be legalized. I had been coming to The Sanctuary since I first moved into the Sacramento area. Over the past year or so, their selection has seemed to dwindle- not offering a huge selection in the way they used to. The pricing has seemed to go up, they used to do preferred days where they gave out free grams etc- and lately when we ask for any deals the budtenders don't seem to know what we are talking about. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We of course don't go there for anything than the product but it does help to have friendly staff to help you out for sure. I took my dad from out of town to this dispensary to visit in March. We didn't purchase. As we left, the woman said next time you come back you get 20% off. All first time purchases are 20% off. I came back today to buy and checked in. I asked the bud tender for their cheapest sativa 510 or AIO and told her it was my first time. It wasn't busy so I know she heard me say cheapest sativa. I asked the price and she said $27 so, okay. I'm here and there's no minimum So imagine my surprise when a WCC Curebar (the same one I get from my delivery service for $22) rang up over $50 and my card was already in the terminal and it was too late to cancel. $50.16 For a shitty WCC510 and when I asked why it was so much and where was the discount - she said that I don't qualify for the first time purchase discount because "entering the building counts as being a "customer" even though I didn't purchase anything. So, okay lesson learned - BUT As I was walking out, the guy behind me asked for a 510 Sativa and they rang him out at $32. Wtf?! I feel so taken advantage of. I won't be back. I don't recommend anyone purchase from here either. So overpriced for a brick and mortar dispensary. Their live plants had burnt leaves and were dry from under watering. Their online menu doesn't match their in person menu and it's very hard find anything you're looking at or what the prices are. This place feels like a scam. They can just charge you whatever they want. The people ringing you out don't care and have a very oh well attitude. Not helpful at all. The girl behind the checkin counter was like a zombie. Id give 0 stars if it allowed me to do so. I don't support businesses that falsely advertise. the store does not honor the deals they are advertising online even though online says to show the This business is falsely advertising 14g for 30$ then told us that our online order would be changed to an eighth instead of 14g....there are laws to protect consumers from falsely advertising which is why things are put in fine print to go over promotion requirements. Good, honest businesses will honor deals they're advertising and then make the necessary changes after. The customers should not be the ones facing repercussions for the business making a mistake with their online prices. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. This "business" needs to be looked into and fined for falsely advertising their products and prices. I have a receipt from in store of what we were charged and screenshots from online showing something completely different. Bad business practices that need to be investigated.... The BBB accepts complaints involving: Misleading or deceptive advertising Failure to deliver promised goods or services Incorrect pricing information Unfulfilled warranties or guarantees This creates a bait-and-switch situation and violates basic standards of honest marketing. Edit in 6/16/2025/-adding a photo of the response from BBB....this is the kind of company you're dealing with. When there is a problem they will not try to make things right with you and will not contact BBB back. I will def be moving this up the chain and even do small claims if I need to. So sad for a company that makes thousands a day to lie about their prices and not honor the promotions they are advertising. After checking in, you walk into the main store and everyone looks pissed off, on their phones, and complaining about the wait. You have 4-5 clerks who love to chat back & forth with customers, which is great and all, but not when you have a floor to clear. Go back to the normal wait in line and get served. I'm surprised at the some of the reviews that talk about poor service. Now I've gone into the Sanctuary a half dozen times over the last couple years, but every time I've had great helpful service. I clearly qualify for the Senior discount so maybe they cut me some slack but even on those visits where there's a line to get in, the counter service has been great. Very clean and welcoming. This last trip Amanda was very helpful even taking a min to write down some short notes to questions I had. We didn't have any kind of negative attitude about it at all. But I have never felt any kind of disrespect at this establishment. I am new to walking into dispensaries in Ca and based off my first experience years ago, I didn't like an it, but The Sanctuary Dispensary was exactly the kind of shop I'm used to.. good vibes. When you first arrive, there is plenty of parking. On the street, across the street. They were busy when I arrived and I got lucky and found a spot up front. I walked in and they checked my i.d. **You need to be 21 or older to enter this business There's only so many people allowed inside at a time, so I waited a few minutes and when I finally got inside, it was gorgeous. There are plants for sale, items behind cases to look at. A team associate ready to help, even if you just have questions. This young woman helped me find some drops, and my favorite, lots of edible munchies! We compared some simular products, but I think I ended up with some amazing adult snacks..
