I know I might have bombarred her with soo many questions, as I was sending my daughters who both where in college in Fullerton, while I am in San Diego, to her location. She gave me her name and I sent my daughters to her and she was very helpful to them and me over the phone. She took time and guided them both in determining what hair would be great for them. Angela was pretty booked for color, so I scheduled a haircut with her first to get in a bit sooner and see if she would be a good fit for me. Before my appt, I also sent photos of my Inspiration haircolors/styles via text and in turn, she had me send her current pics of my hair and a summary of my color history. What I loved and appreciated was Angela's honesty and frankness. She didn't sugar coat anything and based on photos alone questioned if my hair was even healthy enough to withstand another bleach transformation to achieve the look of my inspiration pics. On the day of my haircut appt- she assessed the damage and confirmed my hair wasn't healthy enough at that time to get the results I was looking for with color and it would probably break if I bleached it again this soon. Not what I wanted to hear- but it is what it is...and I had consulted with another stylist prior at a different salon who essentially said the same thing. Angela spent a long time with me listening to my hair goals and examining my hair and we came up with a game plan focused on improving the health of my hair in preparation for my Inspiration pics. Loved the haircut and the vibes w/ Angela and the salon so I excitedly scheduled an appt a month out for the color. What Angela did was amazing! The brassiness/orange/warm tones disappeared, my grays were gone, and with a B3 treatment felt soft, healthy and had amazing shine. I was so impressed I booked her for the same thing again! I am beyond thrilled to have found a new salon and stylist with Angela at Shenanigans. She is super kind, professional, on time, upfront and talented. Shenanigans is right off the 91 frwy in a small strip mall with a mexican restaurant and Farmer Boys restaurant. The salon is clean, huge, and with alot of natural lighting. The other stylists and staff were all very professional, welcoming and friendly as well. To my surprise and relief, they welcomed us to come in right away. Alaa greeted us warmly and promptly brought us back. I showed him a photo of the hairstyle my daughter was hoping for, and he not only recreated it beautifully but elevated it beyond the inspiration image. He worked efficiently and with exceptional attention to detail--her hair was absolutely flawless. She truly looked like a princess. Beyond his talent, Alaa was incredibly kind and patient, making my daughter feel comfortable and special throughout the entire experience.
