I only get a haircut once or twice a year so I usually like to invest in a pleasant experience. I Arrived to a scheduled appointment but wasn't on the books at all. I showed my confirmation but I never made it on the books for the day. I was graciously taken by a stylist after some back and forth from everyone on who would take me. Left with the haircut I requested and that's the end of it. Wasn't an experience or vibe . Just sat and got a haircut with nothing special to say about the salon or stylist. Initially I was excited about my cut and color. Went from longer length black hair, basically virgin hair to a short red bob. The appointment was at night so I liked it at the salon however at home, the color pulled more copper than I wanted. There was even a piece that was missed in the back. I haven't had my hair dyed in 5 years and after dealing with postpartum hair loss and just feeling a sense of identity loss, I feel so confident and cute with my new hair. I wanted to give her a lot of creative freedom so she came through with the suggestion of going slightly darker than my natural hair which made the light colour pop along with my green eyes. I booked a same day appt with Marissa to trim my hair to a shorter bob. When she cut it to length and did some de-bulking, i asked her to add layers because I have a lot hair & wanted it to feel less dense on the ends. I felt like something was off with my cut, specifically the right side cause the top layer was shorter than the other side of my hair. When she curled it, I felt like I could just hide the uneven side by styling it/letting it grow out. I asked her how it looked cause I felt so unsure but couldn't quite pinpoint why I felt something was off. She said it looked good. Decided to wash and straighten my hair the next day cause something felt uneven about the cut. Thats when I realized the layers were choppy and uneven throughout my whole hair. My husband shows up with my daughter, only to find out that the stylist we chose, was let go the day prior and no one had access to the scheduling software to notify the customers. She felt so bad, because it was our daughter's back-to-school cut and color. So she decided to help us out. She spent 5.5 hours doing a balayage on our daughter's curly hair!!! Came in for a partial highlight. I started to get worried when I noticed that I didn't have nearly as many foils as I typically do. Then, when the foils were removed my hair was patchy and orange in spots which she had to go over again to lighten more. Even at its lightest she had said "see how bright it is" except it was no where near what I'd consider bright. Then, because my roots were so orange/ yellow she had to go over it all with a very dark toner which is no where near what I wanted. I have dark stains on my forehead and around my neck. I didn't come with my hair in the best condition but I still am at a loss for how I paid $250 (which didn't include a cut) and left in tears/ absolutely devastated. I came for highlights and left darker and more uneven than I entered. How is that possible. The top is awkward and patchy and I'm no longer blonde + when the toner rinses out / fades what is left is orange. read more
