At no point during the appointment were we told the price had changed or given the opportunity to approve the additional cost before the work continued. If the final price was going to be significantly higher, that should have been communicated upfront so we could make an informed decision. Transparent pricing is especially important when working with young clients who have saved their own money. I'm sharing this experience so other parents know to ask for the final total in writing before the service begins and to confirm that the quoted price will not change without their approval. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling disappointed and blindsided.

Stephanie is a complete hair saver!!! I'm glad I was persistent on getting her. I called the salon to get an appointment with her and the receptionist told me I would have to wait 2 weeks!!! She said I should try to book with the other girls for a sooner appointment but I wanted Stephanie. So, I found her Instagram @stephhdez_ and got her info from there & she was able to take me in sooner. What drove me to find a hair stylist like Stephanie is that I tried to do my own hair. After I bleached my own hair it was sooo fried. It came out orange and green at the ends. I freaked out and started looking for someone who could manage to fix it. I felt like Stephanie's work proved that she could take on my hair and when I showed up to my appointment she was so assuring that I would walk out happy. Three hours later and my hair was better than I ever expected, I expected to walk out with a short hair cut because I fried it. But She kept it soft and kept me at my length. I originally went to Steph for the Brazilian split end treatment only because I've had previous bad experiences with the actual Brazilian blowout. I have not been able to get my hair to grow for years and she explained to me that it would actually help with the growth. I wasn't convinced but figured I'd give it a go. Well a year and half later I go faithfully every 12 weeks for the blowout and it has made my colored fire engine red hair so much healthier and so much longer. She takes her time with the process. I have extremely thick hair so where some people might try and half ass it so it doesn't take as long, she never does. Always takes her time and in the end I get amazing results. I messed up my hair several times and I want to get this dirty light blonde hair color, Steph just did an amazing job. I did bleach my hair little bit, but it DEFINITELY NOT damaged my hair!!!!' I highly recommend Stephany at The Color Lab in Corona, California. I have dark brown hair and starting to grey. I was thinking about highlighting my hair and have not had a hairstylist for several years, as I was a former hairdresser after high school. My daughter recommend Stephany to me. We had spoken on a Saturday and I was told I would be matched shortly with a hairdresser that same day. He said Lorraine had tried calling me and even tried to leave a voicemail and gave me her number to contact. I was extremely apologetic and told him I would call her right after work. When she later picked up the phone, I very kindly said 'hello is this Lorraine' and her automatic response was 'yeah, not only did I try calling you, but I also tried texting you as well and you never responded' in an extremely rude tone, didn't even say hello and wasn't even kind about the mixup. I was taken aback and truly didn't know how to respond as on my end I legitimately had no misses calls and definitely no missed texts. I was never even given a chance to respond to apologize before she continued to go on about my hair, what needed to be done and trying to get me in for a consolation. When I finally was given a chance to speak, I apologized to her very kindly and said on my end there wasn't any missed calls or texts. I then went on to tell her i would be out of town the day she was trying to get me in for a consultation and wouldn't be able to make it. She very rudely responded 'well I'm not trying to get you in for an ACTUAL APPOINTMENT, just a consultation'. Obviously I knew this, I was just relaying I wouldn't be in town at all. She tried looking for another day she had available and that's when, yet again, I tried to apologize to her about the text/call mixup. I truly felt bad and didn't like how she had been speaking to me. I figured if she knew how apologetic I was she would be kinder to me. She completely ignored me, did not respond for a while then said very shortly that I would just have to get into contact with her when I was back in town. I'm hoping she just didn't hear me but either way this enter call had just been rude. Needless to say I will not be pursuing this salon, if someone cannot treat me kindly or even be understanding of a mixup they do not get my business and cannot touch my hair. Again, or Orlando was great and extremely helpful. The stars are only for him. I'm hoping this was just an off day or moment and no one else has had to deal with being treated as such but this was my experience.
