However, over time, I began noticing damage to the newly painted rocks surrounding my pool. First, Orlando used a wire brush to scrub the pool surfaces. This is not appropriate for a rock pool and, in my opinion, caused damage to both the rocks and the waterline tile. Second, there were issues with equipment selection and usage. Orlando recommended a vacuum that was not suitable for the curved radius of my pool steps. I repeatedly expressed my concerns, but they were not acknowledged until I contacted a Hayward representative, who confirmed that the equipment was not appropriate for my pool's design. Finally, after only two weeks of service, Orlando informed me that a friend of his would be taking over the pool maintenance, he was very ice, but new and inexperienced. Overall, I found the level of pool maintenance expertise and service quality to be disappointing. He assured me that they can service my pool and do the startup. I stayed in touch with all of them through the plastering phase to keep them updated on when to come out. They assured me multiple times all was well and they would be ready to go. All the other pool companies I turned away after we agreed on price. On the day of startup, they came out and he spent a ton of time on the phone in the front of my house. No update from him, he left and I get a random text that my house is out of their service area. I told them that makes no sense as we have been in touch for a few weeks and I was assured all was good. They opted to not take my pool on and told me to contact someone else. They said they wouldn't charge me for the visit like they did me a solid..i just don't get it. All I asked was for transparency and not leave me in a position to call back the other pool companies and ask for a quote. I said, since you made a mistake and it's out of your service area, can you just finish the start up you promised me and I'll find another company to do the maintenance. They said no. After a pool is replastered, it's a crucial time to ensure everything is moving in the start up phase and they almost screwed me over.
