He gave us a few options, but once he found out our setup was only a 3-gallon tank, he immediately changed his recommendation and suggested either one of two smaller options or simply letting the betta be the king of its castle. I also asked about getting a nerite snail, and instead of selling me one on the spot, he told me to come back in a few weeks because a new tank wouldn't have enough algae or biofilm for it to eat yet. That kind of honesty is rare. It's clear he genuinely cares about the fish and wants his customers to be successful, not just make a sale. Definitely recommend supporting this shop!

I have purchased beetle larva from them at the Reptile Super Show in Pomona. It is definitely a much more unique reptile/exotics shop than the other ones that are in somewhat close vicinity in SoCal. As far as I know, this is the only physical location that specializes in a diverse range of hormone free pacman and chaco horned frogs. There's a wide variety of morphs, colors, and sizes. They are also the ONLY physical shop I know that has such a wide variety of invertebrates. I know some shops have tarantulas and maybe some death feigning beetles, but that's it. Jamjam has those and so much more! There's various beetles as well as their larval counterparts in various stages of development, along with any supplies that you may need to allow them to thrive imported Japanese beetle jellies, their own mix of flake soil, leaf litter, bark, etc. They also have different praying mantises as well (first time I have seen them sold outside of a reptile show), scorpions, and some really neat air breathing land snails that I have never seen before. I love the swirl patterns they have and I'm for sure going to come back for them. They also have have a wide range of affordable isopods too. Much cheaper than what it would be if I were to order an entire starter kit and the actual isopods online. I love the acrylic set up with the substrate, leaf litter, bark, and charcoal pieces in them with my new little orange guys. Additionally, they have feeders available: mice, mealworms, waxworms, tilapia filet, crickets, hornworms, and a lot of different feeder roaches available (discoid, lobster, red runner etc). Aside from the East Bay Vivarium up in NorCal, I haven't seen this level of variety of feeders, which, as an exotics owner, is very exciting! As they're still setting up, the reptiles they seemed to have when I visited were hognose snakes and some, what I think were ball pythons, but I believe that they'll be having some geckos and other reptiles as things move along. And if you also have a furry friend at home, they have bandanas, collars, leashes, and dog accessories as well. Another thing I loved was how informative, friendly, and helpful the owner is. He answered all my questions, gave tips and tricks, and gave really good husbandry advice. As this is somewhat of a niche hobby, I love to see that. They're in the process of getting everything situated, so I'm really excited to see what will be in store (and hopefully what will be in my room) in the future!

I've been debating on posting this review for some months now. However, after being told some…read moreinteresting information i feel it's best to share my experience. Just for background I own 12 birds, they are cockatiels,parakeets, sun conure, and a ring neck. About 90% of my birds I have gotten as babies and i've owned them for a few years now. Going back to April this year, my family and I went in to purchase a Ring neck. They gave us the price of $800, ended up paying about $850. Mind you they had just sold my brother a ring neck , SAME color for $980. Anyways, the baby was still being hand fed. No problem. We took the bird home and that same evening I noticed they had snot running down its beak. Ive never seen something like this before so I messaged them the SAME DAY regarding this. They claimed it was normal and the bird was just acclimating to their new environment. Ok.. never had that happen. The next day the bird was getting weaker and weaker. We brought the bird home on a Saturday late afternoon, and by Monday morning around 9 something i was trying to get in contact with the shop calling them and messaging them because the bird was not looking good and showing signs of not making it. Once i got on the phone with one of the owners she was very cold over the phone, and asked how much did i pay and to bring the bird and i'll get a refund. Unfortunately on my way there the bird passed away. I went in the shop and told them what happened. There was a girl there with red streaks in her hair who was attending me (same girl who sold us the bird) and right off the bat blaming me and making me feel as if i killed the bird. She put the owner on the phone, I believe the other girl and she sounded empathetic, but after she said it could have been my house that caused the bird to die. Such as air scents, cleaners etc. I've had birds all my life growing up, i know what i can and can't have around them. She went as far as saying she would have to see my house to determine if that was the cause, okay go ahead. As someone who revolves their life around animals should know birds are known to hide their illness until it's too late. The owner never gave me a refund but she sure offered me a discount on another bird. Quick to take my $ but won't have the decency to reimburse me. Fast forward to now, my brother's couple went to ask about the ring necks and was told they had a batch die as well as 2 in the shop. This just confirmed what's been weighing on me for 15 weeks. I have not bought a bird since this incident due to how the girl at the shop and the owner made me feel. I felt humiliated crying there basically being told it was my fault. This was never a me problem. This is a problem with who they are buying their birds from. I didn't get a refund and a bird lost its life. I'm taking the next steps to making my report to the BBB.
