I was pleasantly surprised by how much World Cup merchandise they had in stock. Jerseys, tees, hats a whole section dedicated to the tournament. As someone who's been counting down to the World Cup, it was awesome to see so many options in one place. I also appreciated how easy it was to find what I needed. The store was clean, organized, and the staff were friendly without being pushy. I like being able to browse at my own pace, and they let me do exactly that. I went to Kohl's in Rocky Hill yesterday, in search of very specific black leggings. Well, I found them in every color but black. I circled the whole store, several times in search of one of those Kiosk machines, where you scan the item or you type it in, you can order it, with fast and free shipping. They don't have this kiosk machine. I finally came across a sales associate and I asked them if they could order the leggings for me, or direct me towards a store that has them in stock, she said no, they can't do that. I think my request was as basic as they come. What type of customer service is this? If you happen to go to Kohl's, currently all items with a yellow tag, are an additional 30% off. There's baby items, home items, kids items, kitchen gadgets, plenty of Easter decor. Keep an eye out on your email and your mail, for coupons. This Kohl's also has a Sephora. read more

My main complaint is that I'll go in there to buy socks.....and will be driving home with a bed spread, 2 pairs of jeans, a gym outfit for that night, a gift card or 2, a rice cooker.....and I'm just thinking..."how did this happen again?!." So, frustrated. On December 17, I bought a 24" necklace for my wife for Christmas. The original purchase price was $80, but with sale discounts my price was reduced $27.20. (I'm enclosing the receipt.) However, my wife decided the necklace was too long and asked that I exchange it for a shorter length. Today (January 11) I returned to the store in Rocky Hill, CT. I had the packaging and the receipt, and with the help of a friendly clerk at the jewelry counter we identified the 20" version of the necklace I was seeking to exchange. She pointed out that the shorter necklace sold for $10 less ($70), which after the discounts were applied would result in a small credit to me of perhaps two or three dollars. I explained that in the interest of keeping things simple all I wanted was to leave the store with the shorter necklace and didn't care about the minimal credit. The clerk began processing the transaction while I left to use the restroom in the back of the store. When I returned the helpful clerk explained that because the items involved different stock numbers it was necessary to process a return for the longer necklace and a new purchase for the shorter one. She had processed a refund for my original purchase and credited my American Express credit card but for the purchase of the new (20-inch necklace) she needed to involve a manager in order to arrange for the necessary discount in line with my refunded amount. She then stepped away to help another customer as the manager arrived. This is where it got interesting. The manager proceeded to explain to me that because the jewelry was no longer on sale I would need to pay about $30 more for the 20-inch necklace than I paid for the original 24-inch necklace. The amount credited to my credit card was $28.92. (Copy of transaction attached.) She was now asking me to pay $58 for the necklace four inches shorter than the one I had just returned. We went back-and-forth about this for a few moments, with me explaining that common sense dictated that I should actually receive a small credit for receiving an item of lesser value in place of the one I had brought into store. But that in any event I should not now pay roughly twice the price for a necklace that actually sells for less than the one I bought my wife for Christmas. I got nowhere with her, and left the store without the 20-inch necklace. I'm left wondering - what does Kohl's really think is fair and equitable in this situation? I can appreciate that ordinarily a purchase of an item should be sold at its current price, whether or not it was once available at a lower sale price. But in this instance I think it's apparent that the return-and-sale transaction was merely a function of the need for the store to record the change in inventory. (A 24-inch necklace returned for a 20-inch necklace.) Apart from that, this was essentially an exchange. Expecting me to pay more in this situation just seems ridiculous. Why would a properly trained manager not see this and be equipped with the skills to address it? read more

Kohl's is always a good stop for the quick and cheap shopping trip. This store has early opening hours, and late closing times, which makes it convenient for everyone. Great deals and sales, and the store is always clean and neat. Big parking lot, and convenient location too!! read more

Shopping for things, it's one of my most favorite past times. I like to come to Kohl's, it's like a more classy Caldores or Ames. They always have the best prices saying you save 800% and that the original price was $600 less than that shirt price used to be, but I've never heard of the brand Savane, is that a real brand? I have gotten some of my favorite casual shirts there, and some of the best work socks... But that's about it, that's just me though, what have you gotten? Comment below. I have an issue with how long checkout usually takes, there is always someone in front of you and it seems to take almost a fortnight to check out. I wish Kohl's would somehow speed it up... or a self-checkout, or a checkout like Stop & Shop has where they use the scanner gun and someone is just at the door verifying your purchase. That would be great! But alas, I will come here when I am desperate for something that looks decent but didn't cost me a lot. Okay so as soon as I posted my review, Kohl's responded! Just love those 30% off coupons, and the 50% off sales on top of that. Sure helps with the Christmas shopping. I would have to say that I do a lot of my gift and other shopping here every time I get a 30% off I am on my way. I always find the staff to be friendly and helpful and when I pass that 30% off to the next person in line or who looks like they could use the help they always give the discount without question. This Kohl's is off the Silas Deane Highway and there are no other shop's next to it except an Aldi's. Be careful driving in this parking lot....I see accidents here all the time. I like coming here because the prices are decent and they are always giving you discounts and Kohl's cash too. My one complaint is sometimes it's hard to find sizes because the people that shop here trash the racks and mess them all up. And the people that work here don't seem to be able to be on top of that. I do feel for them having worked retail myself as a teen but, we always went through the racks at closing time and in the morning to straighten stuff up... doesn't look like that is happening here. read more

Have to agree with previous poster, the parking lot is HUGE and it is very convieniently located with great hours. I have had some issues when in the adjacent Aldi though. Kohls shoppers seems a little too eager to get there and fly through the lot. The store interior is nice, but it has the feeling like it should be attached to a mall, not on its own. Maybe I've wandered through too many of these types of stores in my life? Merchandise within reminds me strongly of Filene's, in their heyday. In my experience, Kohls stocks some AWESOME maternity clothes that are reasonable priced. If you are (or plan to be) pregnant you have to shop at a Kohls. Motherhood maternity will suck your bank account dry in 1 trip. I'm not a regular Kohls shopper, but I love their return/exchange policy. It is absolutely no hassle at all. I give this location a 3.5 star rating. They typically have every item that I'm in search of, and of course, sometimes more. Great sales happening often, frequent coupons in the mail, and fun scratch off coupons at the checkout counter. Returns & exchanges can be made quickly, there are usually two staff members on customer service at a time. I'm deducting 1.5 stars for the sloppy women's department sale racks and fitting rooms. I'm not sure what the other areas of the store look like, but the sale racks are always disheveled and a mess. The fitting rooms appear to be newly updated (which is great!) but there seems to be no maintenance throughout. Clothes always left in the rooms, full racks of unwanted items, etc. The staff is always very friendly, fast, and helpful at this location, and everyone seems to really like their job here. I used my Kohl's card to purchase a gift certificate a few months back. The recipient was unable to use the certificate, so I called Customer Service at Kohl's to try and resolve the matter. I was never provided with a confirmation, so I could not refer to that, so I provided my Kohl's card number and they had no record of it. I spent more than 1/2 hr trying to prove to Customer Service that I have an account, providing an assortment of information, only to repeatedly hear him say that there was no record of it. While I assured the customer service person that it was not his fault that Kohl's recordkeeping is rock bottom, I was utterly amazed that a company as well known as Kohl's could have severely disorganized records and truly pitiful service! There was no opportunity for me to answer a secret question, or password to release my ID. I had to repeatedly enter a security number that was never accepted. Kohl's really STINK! It's hard to write a review of Kohl's so let me try. Just rename it Cole's, that spelling is weird dude. It's big and not that noisy, so that's good. I didn't feel a special connection though. But it's a chain department store, I don't think anyone's gonna be feeling tied to the place. There are good clothes, and a wide variety, so that's good. I like playing with that thing you use to grab the clothing on the top shelves. That's fun. There are also mirrors on the rectangular pillars that they have placed in various illogical places throughout the store. But other than this, it's a Kohl's. What do you expect me to say? read more

This is a good place to shop for clothes because they have name brand clothes, houseware items and are beginning to expand on some of the electronics. This Kohl's is a good location to shop at because its one of the larger stores and carries more items then some of the smaller Kohl's stores. There are always opportunities to save with discounts that are offered. One of the best offers is the spend $50 and get $10, which makes you want to go back. There is a good selection of kid clothes offering many sizes, along with mixing and matching top & bottoms.....there is a small toy / kid area selection. If you are not able to find something in the store, you can always try and get it online.....sometimes the sizes are not always available in the store, especially for the seasonal items. There is a small Big/Tall area for men and you can usually find a good range of sizes for anyone. When you visit, you'll find yourself strolling around for awhile and there is something for everyone and its a good selection of clothes, shoes, housewares for your home. read more

I love the clothes at Kohls. Well, if you're less than a size 16 they are nice. They are so light with beautiful patterns and colors. My problem is that I'm a size 18 - 20. I love nice clothes but your department for larger women needs some help. The patterns on the clothes are hideous. Big flowers or big patterns and the polyester has got to go. I am a business woman and I need to wear business clothes. Where are the blouses (with short sleeves?) Also, where are the dresses that don't look like tents? Please tell your buyer that some of us want to buy nicer clothes and Kohls just does't have it. read more

I like it, I really like it. Especially since the Jennifer Lopez Collection, it's better than I thought. The Vera Wang clothes are nice, but nicer still are her handbags and shoes. Strong home and kitchen department and the checkout and parking are easy breezy. read more
