This is not my favorite Kohl's. The location is in a tricky spot as those lights at Harlem/22nd intersection always seem to cause me to get a ticket, even if I'm totally stopped. And traffic on 22nd is the worst! I realize this isn't Kohl's fault, but I now avoid that intersection, and all shops there. I do appreciate that the self-check out stations work. I recently visited for an Amazon return and was taken aback to see an elderly woman with a walking aid, visibly distressed because she had to walk down a broken escalator from the second floor. Only to learn from a staff member that it had been inoperable for several days and the elevator was also out of service. For a major retailer in 2025, that's unacceptable. On top of that, the store feels extremely overstuffed with merchandise, making the aisles cramped and cluttered. It creates a bargain basement vibe instead of the clean, easy to shop experience I once knew. The prices are great when coupons or sales hit, including the 25% offer that you're given when you drop off an Amazon return there. But the overall feel of this location makes it seem like it's in decline, with little effort to improve the customer experience. Note: Amazon returns are on the second floor until 8p. On Saturday, November 15, I placed an online order using a one-time use 40% off coupon to purchase three sports bras to be picked up from the store. When the items were ready to be picked up, I took my daughter to the store to pick them up and try them on so we could exchange them or a different size if necessary. Two of the three bras were good except she needed a smaller size. The third she didn't like so we needed to return. We found the two in the right size and went to the checkout counter. I told the cashier that we wanted to exchange the two and return the others. He asked for the receipt. I told him it was an online purchase for store pick up so I didn't have anything other then the bar code on the pick up bag, the email with the bar code, and the in-app bar code that you click on if you need to return something in the store. He said that none of these options was acceptable for an exchange. I thought this was ridiculous and told him so. I then said fine, I will return them to my original payment and repurchase them with the 30% off coupon since he wouldn't honor the 40% off coupon I used to purchase them originally. He said he needed my ID to do this. I only had an expired ID on me so I got very annoyed and went to my car to get the regular ID. I made a scene for which I am not proud but I was frustrated with the lack of customer service and the lack of knowledge of your return policies. When I got back with the ID, he went to give me a merchandise credit instead of a refund to my original payment method. I got upset. He asked the girl next to him who told me that since I didn't have a receipt that came out of a printer in the store that an refund and an exchange were not options. I continued to get very angry but at this point they were not being helpful nor were they calling a manager to check if there was another method to make this exchange or refund. They gave me a merchandise credit, which I then used to purchase to two bras that should have just been an exchange. The cost of this was 30.78. There was a balance on the credit but I didn't check any of this until I came home. The original price I paid for the three bras was $36.28 The merchandise credit I received was only $32.53 So not only did I have to pay more for the two bras because they wouldn't do an even exchange for my original purchase that used the 40% off coupon, but they also didn't even give me credit for the full amount I paid for the three bras. I have been a Kohls customer since I was 18 years old (over 30 years ago). I have a credit card with the company. I have always paid my bills on time and have shopped at the store at least 1000 times. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. I felt like I was being told I was crazy for trying to exchange them. I checked the policy and I was well within the parameters of an even exchange for the two bras and a refund to my original payment method for the third. When I got home from the store, I contacted Kohls customer service via the chat on the website and was told that there was nothing they could do since this happened in a store. So basically, the store couldn't honor your policies because I made the purchase online and the online store couldn't honor them because I tried to return them in the store?!?!?!?! Great selections for everyone and they always have good offers! Consider signing up for your points , especially for cash back. Only reason I hesitate to visit as often is because there's super long lines and one cashier. I visited the store on a Wednesday at 5PM and only one girl ( wish I got her name) was at the register. They announced all other cashiers to the front AT LEAST 5 times and not ONE person showed up. Horrible part on management. That girl at the front register deserves recognition, I would have left to the bathroom. read more

We love visiting Kohl's. They are so organized and bright. The kitchen section has a nice selection. The location of the changing room is awkward from the men's section, but otherwise, this location offers good prices and friendly staff I do want to share that while I was shoe shopping, I used a kiosk to double-check that the sale tag on the shoe was correct. It was not. These women's running shoes had a sales tag of $52.50. The kiosk showed $59.99. I asked a young man working in the shoe area. He checked the price on his scanner and it was $59.99. I mentioned that the tag was wrong-I showed him-and he just said, "yea, its wrong." Well you're not going to fix it?! Someone else is going to have an unpleasant experience when they go to buy them. At least report it to management. I mean, the kid wasn't even straightening shoes. Overall it was a good experience. read more

"Kohl's" is one of the popular retailers people like to shop during the holiday season. Before heading to a brick-and-mortar store, I usually do a quick reconnaissance on their online shop. I had an eye on the black "Madden Girl" long puffer coat. However, the North Riverside location doesn't carry the line, or doesn't seem to have this particular item. I then found this at the HIP location in Norridge, but I didn't fit me like I wanted to. I also noticed this location doesn't feature "Muk Luk" cold weather accessories. Did I miss it or was I correct? "The Holiday Return Counter" always has a huge line a week before and after Christmas. If you're tying to do a return or an exchange, plan your time accordingly. I observed a strange pattern when I was about to head over to one of the checkouts. The register area near the "Harlem" exit was aggregated with people. One by one customers began to form a single file line. I then recalled seeing the other available registers near the "Cermak" entrance. There were literally two (2) people in front of me. The entire checkout was painless. I also was offered a coupon, even though I believe the Kohl's charge cardholder gets at least 15% off or some discount perks on many of their promotional periods. For the most part, the store was organized and didn't appear to be "out of control," like the Lincolnwood Town Center store. read more

Kohls is no longer a good place to shop. They used to have great customer service with reasonable returns. Things have changed. Returns are not good. They have reduced the amount of time you have to return stuff and returning is generally a headache. Prices are no longer good and their coupons can't be used on things you want. My advice is to shop elsewhere basically. read more

Customer service not friendly at all. The store was very clean and well organized. I went in to get a ugly sweater for work I asked a worker where could I find the ladies department she just pointed and said on the other side of the store. I walked and walked and found myself in the juniors department. When I did find the ladies department there wasn't much of a selection of ugly sweaters, so I ditched that idea and just went to ask for the children's department which this lady was very helpful so not all Khol's employees are rude. I would recommend this establishment, because they did have what I was looking for. read more

Normally I shop online for children's clothes clothes for my child but I happened to be in the neighborhood and see what this Kohls location had to offer. I go to the children's section and I was greeted to Emerald who was outstanding at helping me find the things that I needed and never hesitated when I asked a bunch of questions. I left a satisfied customer from this store essentially and will definitely return in the near future. read more

This particular location always seems to have more than enough registers but lazy employees. There are usually long lines with only two or three registers open. I often see other employees walking by, pretending to work, rather than logging on to a register and provide speedy checkout service. I only come here cuz its 5mins from home, otherwise I try to shop at a different location. Stay away! read more

I asked her can I put in my phone number and she huffed and puffed like she just got off a treadmill or something. I hear many people complaining about Kohl's but anyone that remotely knows this is the way to my heart! Their clearance sections are the truth! Don't even get me started on jewelry clearance. Good selection of apperal, shoes, and house wears. They now have a new rewards program for their loyal customers to get a little back. I love that they always have great deals and special sales going on. This place has changed a lot. It's hard to find a sales rep to help you at all. Was very discouraged to shop due to display and floor plan seems very cluttered and narrow aisle that I bump at almost every person I was in the aisle in. There was 1 register open when I was ready to check out until a few customers said something, then another register opened. It's in a plaza, so plenty of parking available. read more

The plus size women's department used to be pretty good here but now they've limited it to just a few racks shoved between kids and maternity. Oh and they hid the plus size section on the 2nd floor so you are forced to walk through all the beautiful and abundant women's clothes to find the escalator up to the plus size rack. It took me 20 minutes to find it. There were several other women looking around and grumbling at the horrible selection. Visiting from out of town, we were strapped to find a luggage before our flight out the next day - visited this store in hopes of saving some money. We found a pretty good priced Samsonite and downloaded their app for the initial 15% off in hopes of saving some money and it actually ended up not going through because it got flagged for unknown reason that could've really ended up being a hassle but we got connected with the manager named Jennifer and she honestly could have told us you're screwed and not help us but she took the time to call the Kohl Company and really helped us figure out what is going on with their app purchase. In the end, it all worked out but I just want to take a moment and say how helpful all their associates were while we were looking for the luggage and during this whole ordeal. The associates and the manager who works here provided excellent customer service, although I normally don't shop at Kohls but if this is how their customer service is, I'll definitely be shopping at Kohls more often and will definitely be back at this store when visiting Chicago. read more

typical Kohl's store...except this one is pretty busy. Store looked clean and well-stocked. If I am in the area and need to stop in, I won't hesitate - if it's not too busy that is :) I am not good with crowds and this one was hopping - even so, it wasn't crazy like other stores can be when there are many people shopping. I was able to easily walk around to the section I needed. One thing I found odd was that they didn't carry any Chicago Bulls merchandise (which is the reason I stopped in there) - they only had Bears and Blackhawks - so I left...which was a good thing - the lines to pay were loooooong! read more

Then, after acknowledging their mistake, not only did they not fix the problem, but conviently erased the conversation. Now, they use deliberately misleading advertising on their coupons.
