You know, matching fall jackets for the kids and yoga tops from moi. Regardless, this location was well organized and full of all the fun little treasures that you expect to find at TJ Maxx. Let's be honest. The minute you see that I'm reviewing Broad Ripple's Pitaya, you're saying to…read moreyourself "Why, Richard, would you be going into Pitaya?" Fair question. I am not young. I am not female. I am most certainly not slim. Sexy is not a word I would ever use to describe me. In other words, I'm not your typical Pitaya customer. I've always been curious about PItaya in Broad Ripple, one of 15 Pitaya locations nationwide with an emphasis on the Midwest with a handful of spots as outliers in Georgia, Texas, and Arizona. Pitaya started in 1990 in Bloomington, Indiana. The Broad Ripple spot now serves as their corporate address. It's a shop for young women's fashion, though certainly all ages can wear their fashions. Pitaya-labeled clothes are sewn here in the US. I had a cousin who, for many years, swore by Pitaya. While I've always been curious, that curiosity never led me to enter the place until recently when a friend asked me to pick something up. So, off I went. The good news, of course, is that Pitaya is one of the businesses in this building that is accessible. Several stores in this strip have a step to get in (Metamorphosis, the bagel shop, etc.). Pitaya's pretty easy to get into, and the accessible parking is about a block away. I actually found what I was looking for, picked it up, and was treated surprisingly well considering it was painfully obvious it wasn't for me. The store was well organized, the employee I met was friendly and helpful, and it had a good energy. I've also always associated Pitaya with super thin, however, I did see some variation in sizing. I mean, not quite to my size but definitely some variation. Will I go back? If my friend asks, sure. To be honest, I felt way more awkward at Thieves than I did here. If you can make an older, unfashionable guy like me feel comfortable then you've kind of won me over.

There was only one girl working, and as soon as my mom and I walked in, she greeted us warmly. She let us know about everything happening in the store, including a BOGO sale. My mom was interested in a skirt, and the clerk explained how she would style it (which my mom loved), even coming out from behind the counter to demonstrate. The level of hospitality she showed us was amazing - something that's hard to find these days, and we really appreciated it.

It was nice having someone working who was aware of the inventory and ordering time frames. I'm sure we will be back in the area before the end of the month, so we will be back to check out their line. I like when businesses take the initiative to help their customers! Review #2046

She listened to what I wanted, helped me find several selections and directed me to a dressing booth so that I could try the clothes on before making a purchase. What I like about Lucky Brand is that they carry several lines of jeans designed to fit different body types. Since I am not a bottomless Millennial, I can't buy jeans at places like Target or Kohl's that don't have anyone around to help find a good fit. When I talked with the staff here I found that the 300 series is designed for men who actually have backsides. Where I struggled finding jeans smaller than a 36 waist at the other stores, I comfortably fit into a size 32 waist 363 Straight leg. And even though I've gone through different styles and colors, I know that anything in the 300 series will fit. This means I can stay in style without looking like I am trying too hard to keep my youth. In addition to the jeans, there are also a wide range of T's and button down shirts. They also have great hoodies too. There is a really good website for additional options for when the local store may be out or doesn't have the room for all the items available.  It also seems there are frequent sales on items, so I almost always wait to buy my jeans at a 33 to 50+% reduction. I may be old, but I still recognize a good deal! Although my jeans weren't on sale today, I bought them anyway. The fit was perfect. They also come in a wide variety of inseam lengths but since my legs are in the normal range, I didn't have any limitations on options. As long as they keep making good quality clothing and carry the 363 line, I will be a customer. Review #2186
