Marshall's has always been my go-to store for clothes and/or nic nacks for the home. My late mother loved Marshall's and would always take me there for clothes shopping. This location is very nice and has a decent selection. The staff is pleasant and very friendly and willing to help you find something if you need it in the store. Because of Covid-19, there were only two registers open and the lines are longer, but the line did go pretty quickly, so that did not bother me. The cashier was very nice and pleasant and checked me out with a smile and professional manner. Marshall's has a little bit of everything and you can always find good deals here if you look hard enough. I have always enjoyed shopping at Marshall's and will continue to do so in honor of my late mother. It's a wonderful store!

I have been a long time shopper of both Marshalls and TJ Maxx. TJ Maxx is the parent company and also owns Home Goods and Sierra Trading Post. I think Marshalls and TJ Maxx are the best of all the discounted stores including Ross & Burlington. Of the stores available in my surrounding area Marshalls in West Carmel (off Michigan Road) is the best. They have a better and bigger selection than the Nora store. The pricing at all the stores under the TJ Maxx umbrella are excellent; far better than Nordstrom Rack for example. Returns are fairly easy too. Though this review is for the Nora Store - I would rank Carmel first then the Washington Street and then Nora as far as merchandise selection goes. I have not been to the new Hamilton Crossing location.

They always try to tempt you while in line!

Affordable prices on name brand makeup and beauty products, clothing and housewares. They have quality unique items and you don't have to hassle with going to the mall. I especially like finding their marked down red tags and stash gifts away for giving later. In fact, I just picked up several nice pairs of socks, candles and a $4 pop socket on after Christmas clearance. Thanks Santa Claus!

Marshalls is not the king of customer service. Nor do they claim to be. What they reign supreme in is ridiculously low prices on high quality clothes. We're talking Perry Ellis, Ralph Lauren, Anne Taylor, and plenty of other rich people that I've never met, but make awesome clothes. They also have a lot of randomness here, like reject groceries from foreign brands, but they usually turn out to be tasty if you dare try 'em. They also have toys, shoes, a ton of useless but cool stuff to decorate your house with and also linens, bedding, curtains, pillows, and enough already. The other super cool thing they have here is LAY-A-WAY! It makes us broke yolk folk who like to dress like we have dough-nuts a way to earn ourselves a well deserved pat of butter on the back for paying it off in time. Now you may get an eye roll, a hungover manager, associates hollarin across the store at their friends, or if you're lucky, all three! However, they now have an easy return policy of actually getting your money back if you're not happy. It used to be is all you got is in-store credit for returns, but now they stand behind their goods because what they have are slow sellers, or mistimed marketing mistakes, not irregulars or previously worn items. So if you're like me and have gained a few pounds from all of the opportunities you've made yourself to Yelp, you'll be glad that you can stay fly-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye-eye, till you die-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie*, thanks to Marshalls. *Shout out to 3-6 Mafia!

I was not ever greeted or asked for help when I entered or walked throughout the store. Tried to use an online coupon, and the cashier struggled to use it. Had me clicking on multiple things before we actually got to the coupon barcode.

The primary reason I usually end up at a Kohl's is to check out the clearance men's aisle for…read moreclothing. As someone who is awkwardly shaped (C'mon. You've met me. You know it's true.), I like that Kohl's typically carries big n' tall sizes (though, let's face it. I'm far from tall. I'm more like "big n' awkward," but no one's thought to make that clothing line yet). This location is in the Union Chapel area just down a bit from Fashion Mall. This is an older location that also houses a Sephora. Both Kohl's and Sephora have a rewards program - both are honored here. This strip center includes a few places I enjoy including Maple (breakfast/brunch; formerly known as Le Peep), Smallcakes, McAlister's, Ulta, Game Preserve and others. I keep saying I'm going to Terra Gaucha, but I haven't made it there yet. Back to Kohl's. At today's visit, only the right side doors were open. It seemed they were pretty lightly staffed. The people here are typically pretty friendly, though you'll never get through without being asked about rewards and if you want Kohl's credit. I used to massively avoid Kohl's due to accessibility issues - it has improved quite a bit. The carts have also improved. If you're going from one end of the strip center to the other (Kohl's is on one end), then as a wheelchair user you will have to leave the sidewalk. This strip center seems to allow/encourage sidewalk obstacles; thus, I'm nearly always in the street unless I move my car. The clothing selection is solid, though price points wildly vary. However, the clearance section really can go into clearance. For example, today I bought two pairs of shorts and a t-shirt for $16 total. I was quite pleased with all three. I've never checked out dressing rooms, though these days I typically push my luck as transfers are a bit more difficult. This is a solid mid-range experience. I'd actually hoped to find a microwave today, though I really didn't see anything that grabbed me. In fact, other than clearance I seldom buy anything else here. But hey, if you're awkwardly shaped like me Kohl's is a place to try out. I typically don't see them go much over 2-3x, though I did see some 4x shirts.

The merchandise is high end, name brand. They carry men's, women's and children's clothing and shoes and a small section of seasonal household decor. Yesterday, I bought several gifts. The store was decorated with a pianist playing Christmas music. I found exactly what wanted and an associate carefully took the information for wrapping and sending. I saw several other things I wanted, including Christmas outfits for my granddaughters. I left without buying, but later in the day decided my girls needed those outfits. I called the store and Deidreana found the outfits and put them on hold until I got back over there. The outfits were even on sale. Returns/exchanges are easy. They put gift receipts in each package. The store is always immaculate and has lovely restrooms. There is plenty of parking around the store, although parking fills during the holiday shopping season. I recommend and will probably go back this week myself.

I maybe go in Von Maur once a season, and it is even more noticeable at least to me, when you visit a store in longer intervals. They do have excellent eye-catching merch displays and still focused on upscale dressing and seemed like every section had a sales associate to help and areas were upkept. They are targeting heavily toward the older higher income demographics. It is especially telling when you listen to their choice of piano music in them. I would think a salesclerk would go a bit bonkers hearing taped renditions over and over of sickeningly sweet instrumental earworm inducing oldies all day long. I'm surprised this mall chain has lasted, as it hasn't really changed with the times. As times get ever more difficult with less to spend in this way, it will be interesting to see how this chain reacts.

But I have done most of my grocery shopping elsewhere. Looking to trim budgets, I've started shopping at this location after a recent move and I have to say, I am overall impressed with this store in terms of grocery selection. Most stuff on my list are in stock, and at competitive prices. There's some annoying things here or there. I think the price of ground beef is often just as expensive at comparable stores. Certain higher-end items like Ezekiel bread products are MUCH higher. The cereal I was buying here had a sudden 20 cent price jump, so now I get it from Aldi. But overall, the prices are what you expect from a typical Walmart. What has really shocked me, in a good way, is the produce selection. Collared greens and cabbage are very good at least as of Nov 2025, and I'm seeing them constantly being restocked. Store seems to be decently clean. I am going to knock off a star for the parking lot. It is very dimly lit, and honestly gives an unsafe feeling. The area is fine but they could really use some lighting. It doesn't help that the McDonald's in the same area closed, so you're often parked by a very closed, dark building.
