I haven't been into a Kohls for a number of years until wandering in here the other day. Newly postpartum, I needed some new jeans with a little extra stretch than the ones I used to wear. I wandered in, and tried on about 6 pairs before I found some I liked. The fitting room experience was easy, but they weren't well monitored as they were full of clothing others had left behind. Apart from that, the store seemed organized fairly well. I also did a return a few days later, which went quick and smooth. As I checked out, the staff member at the register scanned a coupon for me, discounting over $20 off my jeans that I didn't anticipate. That was a nice surprise! They had remodeled since my last visit here (like I said, many years ago) and it felt like a TJ Maxx or Marshall's experience. Random junk to buy in the checkout line, they call your number to a register up front when available.... Anyway. Only set foot in this store again because they were the ONLY place with a certain pair of shoes my daughter wants for Xmas. I see that nothing has changed. Now who ever bright idea it was to place paid for online orders out in the open for anyone to grab is just a genius!!!! Went to pickup the shoes after getting the email that they arrived and what slot number they were in only to arrive to a shirt in that slot. The store is quiet. It is clean inside. There is a Sephora inside the store. An average selection of clothings. They have Vera Wang brand and her clothing line is chic and somewhat affordable. We love the fact that there is an Amazon return center within the store. You get a coupon to use at Kohls's for each Amazon items you return to this store. It can either be $5 off certain purchases, or 20% off certain purchases. Not a bad deal. read more

Lady tried to accuse me of swapping the tags on a bra when it rang up wrong, she read the tag number wrong and said it was a 0 when it was an 8 and then tried to say it wasn't the same bra when it was if they actually looked at it. I went home and checked both of the tags and the number matched it so did the brand. Please look at the products better next time instead of assuming we're lying. So glad my mother was there because I honestly wouldn't have said anything. The manager didn't even bother to look at it she just took the word of the employee. Don't come here, they will accuse you of trying to steal. Check the photos, but you know, it's not the same one apparently. read more

Came here during the sales for my daughter but was not too impressed. I used to love kohl's but stopped shopping here when I no longer lived by one so I excited to be close to a store again! But they didn't seem to carry too many options here, granted I went during the sale time. I feel as though we found more online than in the store itself. My wife actually came here to interview for a position. Manager was very rude. His name is MIKE. Called her for an interview just for her to arrive & immediately get denied due to unavailability for Mondays & Wednesdays. MIKE was rudely walking away mid conversation with her. Is this how you treat all your applicants. Is this how you treat your employees? Customers? Pathetic. MIKE stated that they are fully staffed but can hire 1-2 more. If you're fully staffed then why do you need coverage for Mondays & Wednesdays? Lol where's your full staff? Y'all really think 1 or 2 more bodies can prevent another burglary like the recent? I've worked for this company for almost 10 years. Had to leave due to being pregnant and being an up coming stay at home Mum at the time. My family and I moved to Manteca. To our surprise there a Kohl's location. Honestly this is the best Kohl's location ever. Speaking from being a former employee. I can tell right away there's differences here. Then my former old store and other locations in the Bay Area. I don't understand some of the low ratings here. The store is well kept. It's not unorganized. It's clean and recovered every time I shop here. Including the cosmetics department. WOW it's pretty clean. The tester eyeshadow palettes aren't damaged like my former store. I do get greeted from time to time from other associates and I try to engage with them as much as possible. Sometimes I have to stop myself and say "Hey I don't work with this company anymore, I need to relax and focus all my energy on being a stay at home Mum". Because sometimes when it comes down to the clearance sections I feel like merchandising it by sizing and condensing it. There will be room for more clearance or new merchandise when truck day comes around. Anyways I hope people will understand. I have seen the worse in other locations. This location is really decent. I love it how amazon is in partnership with kohl's for returns I love how it's convenient and fast. I feel safe and secure with the pandemic going on. I like to come here to shop for my sons shirts and socks and occasionally some cookware. I have no complaints parking is ample and it's nice to have someone directing and greeting you as you walk in. So far so good there's always room for improvements and mistakes so I gave you a 4 star for now. read more

Your typical Kohl's store.... extremely high prices that they put on "sale" to make you feel like you're getting a good deal when their "sale" price should be the actual cost in the first place. For example, I found some Puppy Dog Pals pj's for my 2 year old. Sale was buy one at full price get second pair 1/2 off.... sounds great right? Well the full price pjs were $38.00!!! Who would pay that much for a set of pjs that their little one will outgrow in probably just a few short months! I could go to Target and get a 4 piece set of pjs for $14.99. May not be Puppy Dog Pals but it saves me a heck of a lot of money! In the end we found some back to school shirts that were a good deal (2 for $20) but that was about it. Everything else was way over priced and not really on "sale". It reminded me why I stopped shopping at Kohl's in the first place. Two sets of doors give the announcements more meaning. I've been shopping at a much smaller Kohl's location. They only had one set of doors, so asking for help at the Men's or Women's checkouts didn't make sense since there were no separate areas. This store looked complete from the Men's side of the store, which includes shoes and kitchen things. Thankfully, it was well-organized and things did not look as though they were thrown into the air, landing where they may. I won't say that there weren't small problems but it seems a good store and since I didn't actually have a purchase, and didn't talk to anyone there, I can't say how friendly anyone was. It's interesting that they pretty much discount their discounts, if you have their card. You'd think that you'd get a discount for using cash, but they want you to charge. I can't imagine what the actual cost is on those plush Apt. 9 towels, but when they're on sale and you have a 30% off coupon, I'm sure they still make money. read more

Wasn't busy at all. Came in looking for a particular item.. was told they didn't have the brand I was looking for... by two different people who def didn't care. The second woman was super rude. I walked around and found them on display and on major sale in the isle... like giant display.. I walked in from the other side so I didn't see it. Wow. No wonder it is dead in here. No one wants to shop here. I literally get better customer service at Walmart. I realize now, that the same woman that others have complained about with the faded green hair was the rude one covering the floor while the manager was in the office. I've really tried to like this place. In fact I've visited this place probably six plus times. But with the ridiculous prices it's been a total waste of time. Went to Kohl's for men's cologne on Christmas Eve morning. Could not find one person on the floor to ask directions to the display. Finally found the displays and made a selection, then found the checkout lines with 24 people waiting, 6 available check-stands and only 3 open. Been in line for 15 minutes, halfway there. They charged me 108. plus cents, I went to kohl's store today to return items and they rip me off by deducting $20. They only refunded me $89.00. That's b/s about Kohl's cash! My goodness where do I start... I first will say you would think with where we are at this day in life that retailers would be doing their very best to make sure they're delivering excellent customer service to every single customer regardless of the color of their skin. I want to the place ready to spend money only to have what seemed like their entire staff follow around the store as if I was going to stick every pair of jeans, every blouse, every pair of shoes, every shirt fixture, etc. In my little Coach purse. I purchase a pair of Levi's took them home to try them on only the realize the fit look completely off. I turned right back around 30 minutes later to go exchange them for another pair of Levi's. My original purchase was made with my debit card. At the customer service counter I told the cashier I wanted to do an even exchange. He tells me there was a $2 difference and we were not able to do an even exchange. Therefore he tells me the only other option is to get a store credit, and use that credit to repurchase the other pair. I said that would be fine but I will be left with $2 store credit that I probably wouldn't use later down the line....Sorry Kohl's but I need all my money. This cashier was so adamant that a store credit was my only option being that I paid with my debit card... I in turn asked him was he able to return give me back my cash and you did that same cash to repurchase the jeans I wanted. After he realized that I was fully aware of their policy, he says to me oh yes we can return it as cash. Yes of course I called him out on it and his lame-ass excuse was oh we never offer cash back unless the customer asked for it... I asked him why didn't he give me the option at the same time he was pushing their store credit? Clearly he didn't have an answer... at that moment he realized that I realize what was taking place. A bit of advice to Kohl's... be sure that you're treating each and every customer equal, fair and giving each and every customer the exact same service. Stop your profiling and assumptions... and no you have lost a customer... one who would gladly drive over the hill to JCPenney's... and spend my money by all the Levi's needed. read more

I had low expectations for Kohl's in a somewhat remote location, but I was surprised. There was a good selection of clothes, including the Simply Vera line. The store was clean, uncrowded and service was efficient. I almost forgot I was in Manteca and felt like I was back at my local Kohl's in Santa Clara. If you go to this Kohl's in Manteca during the week you will find one checkout open at each end. I waited for 15 minutes to be checked out while the manager walked around the store doing nothing but checking out the racks that didn't need his attention. I asked him to open another check out and he said, she'll be with you shortly. I said I've been waiting for 15 minutes and he just walked away. And these stores wonder why people would rather go online than deal with their crappy customer service. Great selection, organized and clean. Staff is very helpful. On a shopping trip a couple of days before Christmas I was in the store and had forgotten my Kohls card as well as my loyal shopper coupon. Not only did the cashier look up my card he asked how much my coupon was for and proceeded to take the 20% off of my order all with a smile and pleasant attitude. Today I retuned with my son to look for shoes. A clerk over heard us looking for a certain color and size, she checked her inventory and proceeded to search the shelves helping us find the style and color he was looking for. As mentioned in the other review, this store is Inma center with Costco and a number of other stores. Kohls has the best customer service by far! read more

I love Kohl's !!! I got to go on Black Friday and I couldn't have been happier with the amount I spent. I bought almost 800.00 dollars in clothes and paid 240.00 dollars. The have great deals and I like the selection of clothing and other items for the family. Since I was visiting from Hawaii, I had to make sure I got my fill of Kohl's since we don't have one. The customer service in this store has a careless attitude toward the customer. I lived this experience this morning in person and close to Christmas. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE Customer Service, I was at the Kohl's store in Manteca on May, 11, 2018 and purchased a watch for $215.00 in the jewelry department. The female assistant behind the counter that supposedly helped me knew nothing about the merchandise she was selling. I picked out a watch and asked her if it was waterproof, she was hesitant then replied "no" really none of our watches are waterproof. Looked on back of watch at home, yes it is waterproof. After waiting for her to take out links for it to fit she gave it to me and I left in a hurry being I was trying to beat traffic on my 2 hour trip back home. Got home opened box to find she had not set the time nor date, but most importantly, THE WATCH DOES NOT WORK AT ALL! Have to return to store to replace which I probably won't have a chance to do till June. read more
