Service is terrible literally over 50 people in line and only 2 checking out and on a Saturday to boot... you guess are obviously making money get some more employees read more

I understand why stores have security. I work a large retail store, but having people watch you from the time you walk in and have supposed security keep checking on you posing as customers is taking this to extremes. I use to shop at Ross, but now I will not go there again. I don't need to be watched at every move I make. read more

This review is for Ross internal process. Not sure if it's new or not but they now have you show your receipt to loss prevention (store security) prior to leaving. The way the this store is set-up, security is literally right in front of the cashiers while your items are being checked out. This process they have implemented is more annoying than effective for identifying stolen or missed scanned items. read more

Lame selection. Annoying lady circling receipts like it's Walmart. you can just TELL they're understaffed. Asking the customers do remove clothes, clean up likeeee am I getting payed hourly?? Bffr. read more

We visited on a Friday mid morning, parking was easy and the store was not crowded at all. There was plenty of women's clothes to check out but I was kind of disappointed with the kids section, specifically the girls section. There was not too much to look at but I get Ross is either going to be hit or miss spot. The site itself was clean and well organized! Even the toy section! I was the only one in like so I didn't have to wait ;) the staff I encountered was nice as well. read more

The bathrooms are disgusting. According to the lady at the dressing room she said they have someone that comes in every day. While I was talking to her the manager came by and I tried to speak to the manager.. She said the mess that was in that bathroom was from today and when I said no that that bathroom floor was dirty and had not been mopped in some time she acted like she was too busy to listen and walk away. I have a cleaning service and I know when a bathroom has been cleaned or not you look around the store it is very dirty and if they have someone coming in daily they should fire them and get someone else. And no I do not want the work because I have enough. read more

Wow has this store in Manteca gone downhill. It's so sad as it is obvious it's terrible management. I even talked to 3 employees that admitted how bad it was and that it was the new management. Also that they were short staffed, but I saw several people doing busy work instead of checking out customers when there were empty cashier lanes with lights on and no one manning them. Yet they were collecting some hangers. Stock is messy and all over the place. No sizing where it should be. I will go nextdoor to Marshall's or over to Burlington from now on. Come on corporate, do something please! read more

It's okay, as long as you don't trust too much. Someone told me in the past that every piece of clothing that they sell is irregular. If that's the case, it should be marked as such. It is not. I seem to remember data breaches to their credit card systems way back before it was big business to steal. I pay cash when I shop at the stores, as with Marshalls and TJ Maxx. You will find one-of-a-kind merchandise, not because it was a designer's only piece, but because these are leftovers and closeouts. You need to shop the store weekly to find the values. It's even more inconsistent than Big Lots. Even at the discounted prices, it feels as though many items are still expensive, considering the effort in finding them. You might as well go to the thrift store. I wonder how the prices compare to Saks Off-Fifth or Nordstrom Rack. I was always too casual at this kind of shopping to keep track. read more

Ridiculous! They only had one cash register open for about 30 people in line! Monday morning too when you think you can come in and shop at ease. They need more cashiers i understand if someone calls in sick but you'd think they'd put someone else in register to make line flow a lot smoother! read more

Shout out to Esmeralda that made me smile last night. Great Customer Service- Hard Worker!

So i had the worst experience in the world not only was the active manger rude ass hell she literally was making up prices in her head i asked her to show me where she seen the price she gave me because both items she bring to the front neither one was the price she told me my daughter literally handed me the item i asked her the price she told me but the item had a scuff i seen another one as we walked around so i knew the price this lady told me that the price i said wasn't even an option in the register like are you serious i was in complete shock her name was MAR well that's what she told me middle age Hispanic blonde hair in a ponytail with a side bang she needs to be fired and the cashier poor girl maybe she was new because she knew nothing just scan items her name was Soade young Muslin she wasn't rude just needs more training and the store manger according to MAR her name is NATASHA but she wasn't there MAR doesn't know when she even works LOL just close the store down because the person in charge is making up prices the store manger does have a schedule I'm not even going to speak about how the Indian security guard was following me and my daughter from a distance I'm calling corporate in the morning because I'll rather this not happen to someone else read more

On the outside of the facade it looks big. Once you walk into the place it's so small. It's like the feeling on Christmas Day. You open up you're gift and you get a piece of coal. But you've been very good all year. That's how I feel about this place. I'm disappointed. The employees are friendly and the store is shop-able. The size and there's not much merchandise to shop around. I only bought from this place only one time. That was all because I needed variety I needed more. It's just average nothing special about this place. read more

The organization of the checkout line is what really impressed me the most. Although the line was halfway through the store it went really fast due to the organization. Now don't get me wrong the rest of the entire store was a bit disorganized as are most Ross Department stors. I did love that they had such a large selection of luggage and I even found a nice big suitcase that i've been searching for!! Gotta love the department stores where you can find almost everything you need. read more

I have to admit, I was expecting a nightmare. After hearing over the loud speaker.... "Security Scan of XYZ departments, recording in progress" I started to get a little creeped out. However this store was really clean and neat. I was able to find the perfect Holiday dress for only $ 19.99. My only complain was that didn't have enough shoes in the women's department. read more

I walked out of this store extremely disappointed today! A little girl had fallen because she tripped over a hanger that was on the floor. Luckily she did not get hurt. Her father had caught her before her head hit the floor. With seeing that, I walked over to a manager named Victoria and asked her if there was anyone that can clean up the isles by the shoes. I told her that a little girl had fallen and mentioned that, that could have been a law suit. I even pointed out who the girl was. Victoria was not very happy when I mentioned this to her. She was rather annoyed. She followed me to the shoe isle and she started throwing shoes on the shelves off the floor. I showed her which hanger it was because the father kicked it under the shelves. I am extremely bothered because Victoria as a manager did not even approach the family to see if the little girl was hurt. She completely ignored them. She did not have any compassion or decency to check on them. They didn't even get an apology. It was very frustrating to see that it was handled poorly. After I paid for my purchase, I saw the family still outside and I went over to them to see if the little girl was ok. Her dad said she was fine and thanked me for checking. It is absolutely unacceptable for Victoria not to do her job properly as a manager. I called back after I got home to speak to her manager and the employees their could not comprehend anything I was saying. When I asked for corporates phone # for customer service while I was there, I was given a card with a balance inquiry phone #. Corporate will be hearing from me tomorrow morning because there is a whole lot more to this! Shoppers, beware of this store. You will seriously get hurt if you are not careful. read more

INTRO: Wallce and i went by to check out some Sony Headphones! ( Avid Ross Shoppers) PROS: Wide selection of merchandise like (like always). CONS: False Advertisement, Incredibly rude staff = Manager arguing with Wallace. loss prevention was threatening upon entrance and exist. CONCLUSION: Will not be returning as long as that manager is there. Tried to charge me 12.99 for 6.99 headphones without a box, tag or accessories. Manger was quite hostile towards Wallace & I, made a game time decision and decided to leave. read more

First off, I love Ross! But this one in particular, not so much. They ALWAYS have 1 to 2 checkers. ALWAYS! There could be 15-20 people in line and management will not call someone else to come and help. Also, I absolutely HATE this new thing they have In place at this and other Rosses where the employees have the customer take the clothes they are purchasing off the hangers while waiting in line and then the customer has to rip their own receipt when purchase has been completed. WTF? Iv asked about this before and they "claimed" it made the line move faster. WRONG!!! The line is still hella slow, maybe even slower then before. I can't blame the employees though. They need new management. read more

This place has GREAT prices. You'll find something just to your liking if you spend time sifting through the hot unorganized mess that you find and all Ross stores. I couldn't find a particular size pant at the local JCPenny's, so I went here and low and behold, I found it!!! At a ROSS for goodness sake too! You'll find good brand name products for great prices if you drop by enough. read more

Ross is pretty great. I mean especially if you want a good deal on some pretty good products. I usually go here for random gifts for my friends. The front is nice and organized and they're pretty quick to get you in and out if you want to. I just bought a bunch of themed glasses from there. You know, drinking glasses with Luke Skywalker or Spock on them? Yeah..I'm cool like that. I had a great experience and I love finding stuff to spend money I don't have on, and this is that kind of place. Stop in and if you don't find something you want, I'll be surprised, even more surprised because it'll be 50% cheaper than wherever else you could buy it. read more

So last night, I went up in here with my 6 year old niece! I decided to stop by, because it was a new store. So I broused through my size and then my 16 year old size for a coat. Then my niece ask can she go look at her size clothes. I guide her to her size and go look at the coats for teenager. Well I didn't get to stay long because my niece who is 6 YEARS OLD that was just suppose to be looking at clothes in her size had her hands full of Hannah Montanah, High school musical, Camp Rock shirts, and she did not stop there because she had some cute little pants that she wanted to rock with her disney shirts. I had to get the hell up out of there because that was a "AUNTIE" with puppy dog eyes trap! AUNTIE: unnn ugghh why you got all that stuff in your hand, you doing way too much. 6 yr old shopoholic: Why you putting them back Auntie! AUNTIE: Because I'm not about to buy all this! Girl I'm not your Mom! 6 yr old Shopoholic: Please AUNTIE :~( Auntie: NO! 6 YR OLD SHOPOHOLIC: Please Auntie:~( ...Just 1 thing then! AUNTIE: ( I'm really looking through her fits, because them damm puppy dog eyes) 6 Yr Old: This one auntie! ( it was what is in season too, a black suit vest with a cute little shirt under neath it!) Auntie: That's Cute! 6 YR OLD SHOPOHOLIC: I Know right! Auntie: ( I snapped back to reality) NO! 6 yr old SHOPOHOLIC! PLEASE! :~( Auntie: Come on lets Go! You got me off track, I only wanted to come and just look! So needless to say Ross was clean and they had a decent selection, and I didn't even get to look around the whole store! read more

I feel sorry for the people who have to work here.. not sure who's to blame but there is never enough cashiers! 2 cashiers on a weekend and it's always like that at this location. I usually wait and go to other stores like Modesto or Livermore. Most of the cashiers are usually nice even though they have to deal with the irritated customers after waiting 10 to 15 minutes in line. I'm actually writing this as I wait and it's been 15 mins so far and now there is only 1 cashier!!! Lesson learned wait to go to another store read more

horrible customer service from a so called manager. wendy! rude. extremely rude. i dont know how they hire these goobers. i love shopping at ross but i refuse to go if shes in there. thats sad. a customer should not have to feel like that about shopping in a store. corporate will definitely hear from me! read more

Friendly loss prevention agent, but cashier wasn't too friendly. Not too much in stock especially luggage and shoes. They didn't even have an size 11s! One would figure this Ross would have a better selection since it's located in a complex next door to Costco and the baseball stadium. read more

I go to Ross for the good deals. That's about it. I think a lot of people feel the same way. I live very close to this Ross so I go quite a bit. Every single time, I have had horrible service. The ladies there are VERY rude. I bought a huge cart full of items recently and as the girl was checking me out she said with a dirty look "you know you can't take that stuff out with our cart right?". I couldn't believe it. I said "well, I guess I need to set some stuff aside and take a few at a time to my car." She said "I guess". And DIDNT HELP ME! I can see if it was super busy or something, but it wasn't! How rude! I have had many other stories, but let's just say they didn't go well. I wish they had different employees because I love the items in the store! I wish they had more shoes also. It is a poor selection. read more

I love shopping. I love shopping here because if you really look you can score some great finds! I came last night to look for some shoes and a new dress for my upcoming Vegas trip and I hit the jackpot. I also found a new purse which is a guilty pleasure of mine. The prices are so great that you can always buy a little extra coming here. The customer service is ok. Nothing extra but nothing lacking either. You can get rung up pretty quick. I have worked in retail and I do realize that working there can probably be a bit stressful considering how busy they get and how messy the store gets. Ill elaborate on that next. The only major downfall is the place is a wreck. People tear through there and just tear things up! If are going shopping there be prepared to start digging. The deals you find are worth it though. I spent about $120 last night and I walked out with a shirt, a dress, shoes, a clutch (Guess brand), and a purse (Guess brand). Don't know too many places where you can get all that for that price. This is a large store with a lot of good stuff and I highly recommend giving it a try. read more

I actually like this ROSS. I took my mom here and she loved it because there were a lot of nice, decent looking clothes to choose from. A lot better than other ROSS' that we go to. Prices are the same as others which is great. I bought a pair of FUBU jeans for my nephew, normal price is 49.99 and I got them for 9.99 which is pretty bad ass. My mom always asks me to take her here when she visits me. Damn you ROSS for having good cheap deals on your clothes! read more

One checker & 30 people in line! Cashier called for back up, no one has come to help! Poor management

They have the rudest managers here. Wendy help us out today for a return. She was rude to her co workers and to us. Please don't work there if you hate your job. I normally go to Livermore. This place was insane. Wendy needs defiantly a better job then being a manager. read more

As soon as we walked in we were politely greeted. However, our experience at check-out with "SARA" was completely rude and non-customer friendly. When asked to keep the hangers she immediately said "Actually we reuse them." As they say it's not what you say it's how you say it. I believe this associate needs to be retrained on all around customer service. I rate her poorly. read more

The first time i went into this store was a few months ago and i was shocked to see how clean and easy to shop this location was.The line was a bit long but the cashiers were very friendly , the two male supervisors brennan and ken were so polite and a giant change from the dirty grumpy employees youd expect to find at a ross , and the store manager Justin was very friendly and even helped me pick out a pair of gucci sun glasses that i snagged at a bargain for 60 dollars! At that point i wouldve recomended this location over any other ross and the TJ MAXX in town . Now onto the reality check , i went back into this store with a couple friends a few days ago because i was hoping to find some shoes and a new pair of sun glasses. To my disappointment from the moment I walked in i felt like i was in a disgusting mexican flea market .THe secuirty guard just stared at us and didnt even bother to say hello , the store was a complete mess , and the employees didnt seem to even be working .If i had been alone i would have just left but i was with friends so i decided to tough it out and hopefully id find what i came in for .I found a sexy red dress and some heels so i took them to the fittingroom , just to be harassed by the old hag who was the fitting room attendant.I didnt realize shoes couldnt be taken into the fittingroom but she sure let me know by following me into my stall and ripping them out of my hands! When i asked to speak to the store manager she told me the store manager was busy and could not be bothered with my "little" complaint.I got passed around thropugh 4 different employees all of which had no clue who was in charge , or who the manager available was.Amazing customer service right ? I finaly spoke with a very sweet young lady who told me that evidently the great male managers id spoken with before had ALL left for better job offers , but she would be happy to get her store manager penny to handle my complaint. This explained why the store had gone from such a great suprise into a disgusting hell hole that id expect from ross , to be honest id rather shop at the good will then go back into this place. And if by chance their store manager ever reads this , if this is how you run a business no wonder the only 3 employees who seem to have any sense of customer service , made the decision to quit! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING!!!!!! The only reason i gave them 1 star is because the final employee i spoke with tried so hard to fix the situation , even if the store managment clearly didnt have an interest in doing so themselves! read more
