For some reason I ignored the negative reviews and thought I'd be different - but NOPE! Our salesperson was Alejandro. He was nice enough but unfortunately, the aftermath of the sale is where our nightmare begins. Once you leave the store the associates completely wipe their hands of you and if there are any issues (which there will be trust me) they just tell you to contact customer call center which is mostly AI and chat bots. You have to go through literal HELL to get to a live person who doesn't transfer you all over the place. Anyways, we waited 2 weeks from purchase to pickup our 2-piece sectional couch OURSELVES at the warehouse where we actually bought it and it was in stock. First red flag because why you waiting 2 weeks for customer pickup when it's already there on site? Get it home and start unboxing and the first section is completely smashed and fully collapsed. All the wood frame crushed like a car ran over it. We didn't even open the whole box and immediately called Alejandro who ofc referred us to customer care to start the nightmare. After days of dealing with a chat bot who wanted to send someone out to REPAIR the frame (we were furious because we ordered a new couch not a smashed to hell one to be refurbished) someone randomly called and said they were sending a replacement piece but it'd take 2 more weeks. We didn't even unbox the second section while we waited for the defective piece to be replaced and arrive. Well it arrived 2 weeks later. Delivery guys unboxed both sections and we set the couch up. The section just delivered has a big bulge in the back (a piece of cracked particle board sticking through) and it's poked a hole through the fabric. The other section is completely slanted and sags and does not even match up to the other piece. Have to start another chat bot process. They send their "technician" out 2 days later. He says "oh I don't know why the wood is like that shredded or why this happened but it's not because of poor structure and we're gonna order a new couch COVER and have someone come and disassemble the couch in your living room and sew a new cover on. It'll take them an hour" what in the actual f*ck????? He then proceeded to HAND SEW the hole and call it good! They sent us a fragile azz particle board couch that the wood is shredded and making holes in the back and they're going to take it apart and put a new cover on and not even fix the wood?????? Then the other sagging section he says "oh it's a SLIGHT variance I'm going to recommend a replacement but I can't make any promises it's up to customer care". We still haven't heard anything. So over a month and 3 busted up azz couches later we still don't have a couch we paid for. My next stop is Better Business Bureau because we paid $2,000 for a NEW functional piece of furniture and this company cannot seem to deliver that. I will start off highlighting Aileen and Derek, AMAZING staff members. They turned my Fiancé and i's experience completely around. Experience- I made a visit to the Fremont Ashley's location on March 27th. I visited the store with two of my friends with the intention of adding a couch to our already established list that we had created with Aileen at the Lathrop location. Unfortunately, during my time at the Fremont store, the store manager, Deavon, made several inappropriate comments directed at the tattoos on the women's bodies. These remarks made me extremely uncomfortable and ultimately pushed me to want to leave the store immediately. To make matters worse, Deavon pulled his associate, James, aside and began discussing canceling our existing cart and redoing it through their store--intentionally increasing the price. My fiancée overheard him say, "we're going to f*** them," which was not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful. When my Fiancé and I returned to the Lathrop location to move forward with our purchase, we discovered that our original cart had, in fact, been deleted. Aileen had to spend extra time rebuilding it from scratch. This entire experience was frustrating, disrespectful, and left us with a very sour impression--especially considering the way I was treated. No woman should ever feel uncomfortable walking into a store, let alone from someone in a leadership position. Despite this experience, we decided to move forward with our purchase at the Lathrop location solely because of Aileen's professionalism and genuine care. Great service when purchasing a bedroom set. However, we requested a price match before it was delivered. We have been dealing with the Lathrop store and corporate customer care since November 28th. The store says it's up to corporate to honor the price match and it's out of the stores hands once the purchase is delivered. They did document the case file to say that we qualify for the price match. Customer care says it has been approved but we are still waiting. Although when we have talked to store staff and they have been nice, it's difficult to get a return call. The policy on price matches needs to be in the hands of the store, not from customer care/finance. Very frustrating, After spending over $10,000 on two purchases in the last year. We went to buy a couch a week before Christmas so that we could have a couch for Christmas Day for our family because we just moved into a new place. They couldn't deliver until January so we rented a U-Haul and picked up our couch Christmas Eve. Mind you we live over an hour away. We got home and literally half of the couch was broken, ripped and dirty. We are also missing pieces to put the couch together. The delivery date was scheduled for October 1st a couple of weeks prior I received a call to say that a couple of the pieces were on back order and the delivery was moved to November 1st I wanted to cancel the order but Ashley's took it upon they sell the piece together a bedroom set and schedule my delivery sooner to October 8th. I purchased a chair in Emeryville showroom but the delivery date was 2 weeks out. So i decided to come to the warehouse and pick it up myself. The warehouse pick up needs an appointment but it was easy, one short phone call. I had a car trouble on pick up day and called several times to let them know I won't be make it on time (1pm appointment time), but be there before the warehouse closes (5:30pm). And they were very accommodating and let me push back my time. Of course the traffic was bad around 4-5pm on 580, I called several times more while on the road that I may be a few minutes late. They told me they would be ready for my item and be waiting for me even a few minutes late. Yes, I was about 5 minutes after 5:30 but sure thing they were waiting for me and load the chair to my U-Haul. Norman and Leila were at the loading bay and they were super friendly, quick to take care of the loading. Review update on 10/7/24 I got a call that they would be refunding the mattress and someone would call me for a pickup. Then on 10/15/24 I got another call that I would need to come in for re selection when the called I was at work and today 10/22/24 I spoke to Aileen and explained that I already bought a new mattress elsewhere based on the conversation on 10/7 and she said if I had the name of who I spoke to I did not personally think I had to do that she stated it was my fault and my job to have gotten the name of the person who called on 10/7 and she would only give a credit. With the whole experience what makes them think I would want to shop there again. 3 stars for the great selection of beautiful furniture. Our salesperson was helpful and not pushy but also wasn't good at listening. We purchased a sectional sofa and a bedroom set. When discussing the bedroom set, the sales associate told us that the headboard and bed frame would work with our adjustable bed. We found out that would not be the case when the furniture was delivered. We ended up having to return the whole set and choose a different one that would work. It was highly inconvenient and the whole problem could have been easily avoided had the salesperson listened to us during the initial purchase. We are now having issues with bed frame coming loose and the drawer on one of the dressers sticking. It took an act of God to get a technician scheduled to come out and fix the problems. Ashley has some lovely furniture but really drops the ball on customer service. Not to say I won't buy other things there but go into it knowing any follow up needed will be an uphill battle. read more

Our sales person left out important details and she had me review the purchase list while standing in the middle of the sales floor looking at an iPad, so I didn't catch that she rang up the wrong bed frame (coincidentally it was the more expensive one, which is good for her commission). She also failed to tell us there was only specific hours when we could pick up our clearance couch (we work M-F 8-5, so the hours didn't work with our schedule, and the manager had to make an exception). Lastly, because I had bought something with Ashley's years ago, they had my old address and the delivery almost went there!! I'll probably shop there again because of the deals, but I'll but more adamant about combing through the details. read more

I've furnished two homes using living spaces. I've also spent thousands at Ashley's in the past I recieved a flier that said come in and get a free gift certificate for 100.00. I came in and decided to purchase a recliner and since they price match their own website (not sure why the price is different) I purchased the recliner. I then wanted to use my 100.00 Ashley gift card and was told they wont price match their own website if I use their giftcard. The money wasn't the issue. It was 100.00, it was the principal. It's a giftcard?! So they raise the price if you use their giftcard. That's dishonest. About the Manager Jessie. If he knows your unhappy he will do his best to stay away from you. Just bought a new house and had to start all over with furniture. We started piecing it together about 6 months prior to closing. Rence Moore was the absolute best! He was transparent, did not to push any sale on us. He understood our financial situation and never pressured us to purchase anything. After asking what style we were looking for, he presented some amazing options. We ended up buying our living room couches with Rence. About a couple months later we were ready for more furniture. We had such an amazing experience with Rence we returned to Ashley Home just for him and ended up purchasing our living room, dining room, master bedroom and kids bedrooms furniture all from Rence in the following months. All the furniture we received was in excellent condition when unboxing and putting together. We had some minor issues with missing screws for a mirror and noise coming from our tempurpedic pro smart base. Rence went above and beyond for us and resolved our issues promptly. Even though it was not his responsibility to, he owned it and resolved. My opinion, In todays world, post pandemic, customer service in every organization has taken a dive. I see many reviews when there is an issue and the service is bad, not always do people take the time to share when they have an excellent experience. If/when I have a need for additional furniture Rence will be my go to guy! I was actually going to buy an Ottoman and gave Rence a call today. I messaged Rence and he let me know he was out of office and referred me to another excellent person there. We love Rence so much we don't mind waiting until he returns to get what we need from him. My experience with Ashley's furniture had been UNREAL... I'll start out by saying NEVER SHOP WITH THEM. THERE IS BETTER OPTIONS!! First, we receive our rugs. One is a completely random outdoor 10x8 rug... we ordered a 5x7 indoor..... we've contacted them twice online and have had maybe over 3 hours of phone conversations passing me to random people over about 10 phone calls.... just the rug... mind you this issue is still not resolved and it is still in my garage... they had the nerve to tell us if we want a refund we have to PAY FOR SHIPPING BACK AND SEND SCREENSHOTS OF THE ITEM BEING SENT!!! This is our first and last time shopping with them... Next, the table arrives a week or so later... When I look outside, the table was sitting on a ripped piece of cardboard on my porch... the legs were boxed but the table wasn't. The side of the table laying on the floor was also severely chipped... and the best of all, THEY DIDNT EVEN SEND THE SCREWS TO PUT IT TOGETHER... HOW DOES ALL THIS EVEN HAPPEN IN A SINGLE ORDER?!?! The table had been sitting against our wall for about 2-3 weeks now... Ontop of the terrible experience with the product and delivery, the customer care team was maybe even worse?!?!?! Transfer after transfer after transfer, this person cant help, that person cant help, get to the right person and they tell us to pay for our own shipping.... this has been a f****** NIGHTMARE.... were approaching a month after deliveries started and current status is: they scheduled a replacement for the table set, we have a date, weeks later and a savage chain of phone calls and emails making it all happen.. really had to fight for what was right for this one, they really really did NOT want to help us... I don't know why this place has such horrible reviews. We have purchased several pieces of furniture from here and always deal with Jeff, who is super friendly, helpful and not at all pushy. Yes, there have been some lengthy delays on some of the pieces but that's going on with just about everything everywhere these days. Jeff was always transparent about the expected delivery time frame. My only complaint is that we purchased a kitchen table, stupidly without the warranty, and the moisture from paper plates warped the top of the table. The company would not repair or replace it because I didn't buy the warranty. Even though it had been less than a year. I still went back and purchased a replacement table from Ashley and Jeff. But this time I purchased the warranty. If it wasn't for that issue, I'd give them 5 stars. I've had nothing but good experiences with Ashley and Jeff. read more
