Never buy anything from Kohls unless you live near it. If you need to return merchandise, you're stuck with an impossible mission. I live dozens of miles from the nearest store and even in another state. Returning by mail is almost impossible. They charge 15% restocking fee plus you are responsible for postage. I have been a loyal customer for years but no more. Most things are not in store and then you have to pay for shipping. Ship to store is not offered on a lot of their items. When you receive the item they do not allow for exchanges for the incorrect size. Since you can't try the item on first you dont know how it fits. I decided to look at Kohl's online, I'm recovering from illness and wanted to get my granddaughter a gift for her birthday since I can't visit right now. The website was a nightmare - as a non-member, I bought a couple of Christmas gifts and was invited to sign up for an account, back in December, as I finished my purchase. I went back on, signed in....What a mess. I couldn't change the payment card, kept getting error messages and when I went to customer assistance it was a tangled mess of links. I'm going back to Amazon, I'm disappointed but it's so much more straightforward, I never have problems purchasing gifts and I can get her a Kohl's giftcard there. Kohl's is similar to some stores I've shopped at, yet somehow I can't pigeon hole it into a category. In my mind it has some unusual quality that makes it slightly unique. Oh well, I just shop and enjoy. This location is the closest for me. I've only been to one other Kohl's. I shopped the Kohl's in Connecticut. In some locations it is harder to find the latest designs. This happens simply because of the numbers of customers running in for the item. It's the typical 'if you snooze you lose' routine. I think this Kohl's is better than it used to be. I went on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The deals were quite good and there were plenty of shoppers, but it wasn't crowded and there were enough cashiers to handle the volume. I was able to check out in under 5 minutes. read more

I shop at Kohls all the time just not this particular location. This store really needs to get organized. Trying to find something there is like searching through a jungle it just seems a mess. I was trying to find a pair of sneakers and when my size wasn't in the location of the shoe a sales person checked said there were 2 in stock and brought me back a shoe box. So after about 5 minutes of me loosening laces and trying to squeeze my foot into the shoe I decide to look at the box and realize it's 2 sizes too small. So anyway I go back to the same sales person and politely explain what happened that she gave me the wrong size she didn't even apologize but even though she had previously told me there were 2 in stock after a quick double check she said sorry they didn't have my size. So anyway I was desperate to just find a pair of decent sneakers in my size and spend my 20.00 in Kohls cash before it expired the next day so after a few minutes I found a pair I was happy with and made my way to the rather long check out line. Now while waiting in line I witness a group of 20 something year old guys near the bedding department howling and acting like animals jumping on the display bed they had set up, So much so that the man in line in front of me actually got on his cell phone and called mall security. Security came within a few minutes and they dispersed. I just shook my head and reminded myself again why I don't like coming to this mall. Although I frequent the mall more than I'd like, I don't visit this store often enough. They have a good variety of up-to-date clothing styles, and home décor, which is one of my go to places when it's time to update my bathroom décor. The lines for the cashier can be overly exaggerated, yet the lines move quickly considering the lack of cashiers. Overall a good shopping experience when visiting this location. read more

Kohl's is awesome. I stop by pretty frequently because it's so close to my work. They have reasonable prices, good sales, and lots of opportunities to earn Kohl's Cash (spend $50, get $10 to spend later). They have a lot of things you expect in a department store: men's, women,'s childrens, undergarments, bed and bath, bags... variety is pretty good here. My only problem is that they often do not replenish the smaller sizes. I come by week after week, and I often see L and XL left. I am pretty petite, and I can't really wear anything larger than a S, so oftentimes I leave empty-handed from Kohl's, which is unfortunate since they have a lot of decent clothes. So if Kohl's got more smaller sizes, then I would totally give this place 5 stars! read more

If you're reading this you probably already know the deal on Kohl's. They entice you back in with 30% off coupons, the mysterious currency 'Kohl's cash' and numerous other stackable combinable discounts. This particular Kohl's however seems to have some serious checkout issues. Average checkout time is around 10-15 minutes, whether they don't have enough people at the registers, or the clientele is asking 100 questions about how much K cash they're getting back or what-have-you, it just never seems to go smoothly. Also, I can't buy clothes here because they never have my size. If every rack is full of S, XL, and XXL don't you think you'd BUY MORE MEDIUMS AND LARGES!?!?! I had a very unpleasant experience at this location today. I came to exchange some items and realized I forgot my receipt. I was doing a even exchange for the items, and just needed smaller sizes , so I figured it wouldn't be a problem. Since I purchased using my Khols's card the employee was able to look up my original purchase but than said I would have to pay a higher price because I didn't have the receipt. I was confused as to why because it was the same items just different sizes! I told him that didn't make sense since he was able to find my purchase info and what would he do if I had paid cash? I told him to void the return and I would take my items back. I said said "since your authorized to do this void you must be a manager" and he acknowledged that he was. He proceeded to walk away, get on the phone and I clearly heard him speaking to another customer. Never said why he was walking away! When he came back I told him that was very rude, and that he should have finished helping me or the very least tell me he needed to handle something. He said he had to get the code from his supervisor to do the void and he was on the phone with the supervisor getting it. That's a lie as I heard him talking to another customer. I asked if he wasn't a manager why did he tell me he was, and I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over was extremely nice listen to the situation and then refunded me my money and rang the items up again using a discount to match my original price. I think the manager and told him that my experience with the first employee was not great and that he misrepresented himself as a manager. The manager apologized and said that the employee was new. He ended up doing a great job the manager who's name is Keith but my overall experience was very frustrating especially since I'm a card holder and he should have done what was right for me in the first place read more

Today unfortunately I had a very bad experience!!!! I was looking for some dresses. I found 2 dresses (ALT9). The rack was full of dresses only and one sale banner that said it was $17.99 with very small letters that it was for T-shirt BUT they ONLY have dresses on that rack!!! At that moment I didn't realize that the price didn't apply to the dresses. When I went to pay I saw that the price was different and I told the cashier (please give me one second because the price on the rack is different) I took a picture and I show her. She explained that she can't apply that price because doesn't belong to the dresses. I asked her can you come with me so I can show you the rack? She came and said sorry man that it's an error from our part. I asked her, can I speak with a Manager? She said yes. She contacted her manager explain everything and the manager denied my request. The cashier informed me and I asked if I can speak with the manager. She contacted her manager an she made me wait for 5 minuets. When she came, she was already with actitud and loud and said "I can't honor you the price because it's not for that item" I replay to her, can I show you where the dresses are located and show you that you guys (store) have on that rack MORE than 1 dress? She said show me Where are the dresses located. I when with her (manager) and the cashier. I show them the rack and the manager started speaking to me very loud. I asked her why you have to speak to me loud and rude??? She said is because you don't understand, I can be loud and rude if I want because I'm the manager. I asked her to lower her voice because I was getting embarrassed because other customers was around and the cashier was present as well. She replied " I can be loud and rude because I'm the manager" she also said I can honor you just one dress for that price no both. The staff was super friendly and helpful when I was shopping here last night. Every employee was pleasant from the people stocking shelves to the cashiers to the manager (possibly?) greeting customers by the entrance. It makes the experience so much nicer when people smile at you and make conversation. Newport mall is making some big improvements and I like it! read more

Amazing customer service. I received 5 broken nail polishes that I ordered for a bridal shower from Kohl's (Definitely 1 star for Kohl's headquarters for sending broken nail polish and for not having a "fragile sticker" on box). Of course it's crunch time, so I don't have the luxury to return/reorder. I called Kohl's headquarters and they directed me to the nearest Kohl's. I was helped by Erica. She was super patient and made the effort to run around the store to see if they had anymore in stock for me to pick up. Customer service is abysmal. Been here twice = two times too many. Strike 1: had an "expired" $20 Kohl's cash certificate that I was told never truly expires (much like those Bed Bath Beyond 20% coupons). The cashier scanned it unsuccessfully, said it was invalid, then KEPT it. I only realized after I left how shady that seemed. Strike 2: Made some holiday returns and the cashier scanned the *items* instead of my gift receipts. I was told the "gift receipts weren't working" so I got the heavily discounted price as return credits. After dealing with long lines and her attitude, I didn't even have the energy to find a manager and argue. Never going back again, just on principle read more
