    Lunch bento

Schomberg gets a great restaurant that isn't deep fried. Or a burger. Or Tim's. Or general purpose bar food. While not at the level of Minami in Aurora, it's still a no-brainer. A fresh, fast Japanese lunch or dinner nearby is a winner. The menu is quite large and I found myself going back-and-forth from cover to cover a few times before settling on a choice. I ordered the Sushi Bento and upgraded the Maki rolls for a couple bucks. It's slightly smaller than other Bentos, but when you factor in travel time to anywhere else, it's worth it. There were 4 pieces of sushi, the Maki, some sesame noodles, salad and steamed rice, accompanied by a Miso soup. My associate had the Vegetable Udon soup, which I noted will be my " winter lunch of choice".

A hidden gem!!! After passing by the plaza a few times, Koharu sushi caught my eye and I decided to try with my friends and we were pleasantly surprised! The interior was very clean and the waitress was very friendly. We felt very welcomed. We ordered the Maki 2, Galbi Bento, and Haedupbap. All the rolls were filled and yummy. I especially liked the spicy salmon roll. Definitely worth the price! I had to pack it because I couldn't finish it all! Tasted very fresh and better quality than most restaurants. Haedupbap according to my friend was the best. It had a lot of vegetables and fish. The galbi was really good as well. Had a bite and I couldn't get enough. Will be back for sure :)

Horrible food, the salmon smelled awful and the texture was very off. Threw it in the trash and will never go back again. Unacceptable.

We've been coming here whenever we visit family for the last few years and it never disappoints. I'm shocked there are no reviews of this restaurant on Yelp but I can see a 4.5 star rating on Google based on a few hundred reviews- this place is good! Check it out! On our last visit we got the Chirashi Bento Box at Kaisei Sushi. It featured many flavors and textures. The fresh fish, sourced impeccably, showcased a vibrant spectrum of tastes, from buttery salmon to delicate tuna. Unlike other chirashi bowls that only has sashimi on rice with some veg garnishes, this version also had torched sashimi added a smoky richness that elevated the experience, complemented perfectly by the savory BBQ eel that was served on rice. The lunch also included gyoza and fried spring rolls were a crispy and added texture. the California maki was a classic favorite done to perfection. Each element contributed to a well-balanced, filling, and incredibly delicious meal. The staff at Kaisei Sushi were not only friendly but also quick. It's a very cute and casual restaurant, there seems to be a lot of take out and delivery orders while we had lunch. There were two other tables of patrons when we ate. Kaisei Sushi features warmth and efficiency of its service, and affordable sushi. We always try to stop here every time we are in the area, and will continue to do so.
