On our last visit we got the Chirashi Bento Box at Kaisei Sushi. It featured many flavors and textures. The fresh fish, sourced impeccably, showcased a vibrant spectrum of tastes, from buttery salmon to delicate tuna. Unlike other chirashi bowls that only has sashimi on rice with some veg garnishes, this version also had torched sashimi added a smoky richness that elevated the experience, complemented perfectly by the savory BBQ eel that was served on rice. The lunch also included gyoza and fried spring rolls were a crispy and added texture. the California maki was a classic favorite done to perfection. Each element contributed to a well-balanced, filling, and incredibly delicious meal. The staff at Kaisei Sushi were not only friendly but also quick. It's a very cute and casual restaurant, there seems to be a lot of take out and delivery orders while we had lunch. There were two other tables of patrons when we ate. Has dim lighting in the dining area with upstairs and downstairs seating. There seemed to be regulars here. Everything started off well, we ordered a tempura appetizer that was pretty good with light batter. Sadly that was the extent of the good experience. After receiving the appetizer it took about 40 minutes to receive our main course sushi entrees. Aside from an apology there wasn't anything offered or comped for the long wait. All the sushi entrees we ordered were mediocre sadly. The quality of fish wasn't high. Unfortunately this is one of the few sushi restaurants in the area so I think that's why it has higher reviews. Our go to orders are their lunch/dinner bento boxes. We occasionally order their sushi trays for takeout as well. My next favourite thing is seeing the sweet staff. It was pretty good. Pork cutlet was decent. AAA beef teriyaki was OK. Fried rice was OK. The green onion taste was strong. I like that it was separated from the pork cutlet. Assorted maki (Cucumber & salmon) was ok. Vegetables were decent. They had a nice stir fried taste. The salad was ok. Miso soup was decent though the tofu was too firm. The green tea ice cream was pretty good (I ordered red bean but they were out so they changed it).
