Located in Downtown, it can be a bit of a pain to get to with all the parking and such, but it's totally worth it! Walking inside, I was immediately overwhelmed with the need to buy everything. There were gorgeous dishware, homeware, jewelry, stationery, incense, and more! If you're just getting into matcha, this is also a great place to start. They've got all your essentials, a good selection of matcha, and the cutest chawans! Best part is that everything is quite reasonable in price for the quality that you get. Being a house plant lover, I had to check it out. The pots and plant holders all looked so high quality and presented beautifully, with a modern styling. I love the wooden stands! The owner, Jenn, came out and chatted with me and helped me out with a purchase. She told me that the pots are made from spun aluminum which is a unique but sturdy material for pots; they look clean and the shape emulates ceramic vessels. I also love that there is a drainage hole so you can put the plant directly inside the vessel! I got a large snow pot ($14) and a philodendron to go inside it ($12). My total order ended up being $28 after tax, which is a great price. They have a lot of lovely options for planters, so I highly recommend coming here if you or someone you know is a plant lover. Make sure you give yourself enough time when planning on getting therWe found some street parking a couple blocks away and walked. Our instructor, Aurora, did a quick demo and then we were left to create our pieces. We had 3 balls of clay (give or take a half pound each ball) to work with and you get one free piece firing included with the class, and additional pieces to fire are $10 each. It's pretty autonomous but if you need help the instructor is there to assist you. After you create your pieces, you pick a glaze and then clean up the work station. The class is 90 minutes and it goes by quick, time flies when you're having fun!! ---- Overall: had a fantastic time creating pieces that will hopefully be functional ware, a great date idea, I can't wait to be back and try out their open studio times

Our class was on a really nice day, and for a super reasonable price, we got 1.5 hours on the wheel, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The wheel throwing class is either indoors (behind the plant shop) or in the back (half exposed garage). We were in the back and it was a good amount of space for our group of 4 people. There were more couples next to us as well. Also, I loved that they allow you to bring outside drinks to enjoy while creating, making it a fun and relaxed experience. Our instructor was great--attentive when needed but also gave space to explore at your own pace. This wasn't our friend time on the wheel, but we were with friends who were new to wheel-throwing, so he assisted when needed. I can't wait to see our finished ceramic pieces! Whether you're a plant lover, an aspiring ceramicist, or just looking for a unique experience, Botanica is definitely worth checking out. After your session, it's a good excuse to explore the streets of OB - especially on a very sunny day. I'll definitely come back another time.

When sifting through the herb section, note that they are organized alphabetically and some different types may be hidden behind others on the same wall peg. What they don't have in the front of the store can likely be found in back or ordered through one of their suppliers. Prices were fair. I was assisted by Jody, and she took plenty of time helping me find what I was looking for, listening to me and generously sharing her expertise. There is a wide selection of essential oils as well, plus books, jewelry and even a pamphlets section with guidance regarding specific substances of interest.
