    Sweet pancakes

Koco Bell has been a favorite since they opened the old location on McMillan. Unfortunately the food this time was just ok and we experienced a little bit of a commotion between the two workers regarding (we assume) a DoorDash order. Food: 4/5. I must start by saying the pancakes continue to be a highlight and a delicious treat! We got the half and half Korean Corn Dog, which was just ok. I would say it was more like 3/4 cheese. The tteokbokki is one of my favorites and I liked the new addition of eggs. It also was not as spicy as before which is pleasant (to me). The bulgogi box was just ok. Service: 4/5. The service was good. We were the only ones there so it was somewhat quick to get our items but everything came out at different times. The main thing that took away from our experience was the couple working were arguing in the main area about another order. It was a very uncomfortable situation. Atmosphere: 4:5. The location is interesting on State St next to the Crunch Fitness. It is very open and bright and not as comfy and inviting as the old location. I do like the jewelry and other handmade items for sale. Kid friendly: 4/5. Older kids could be fine, but I'm not sure little ones would like the food and didn't notice any highchairs. Due to the location and the fact that the food was just ok, I am not sure we will be back but would recommend trying it at least once!

Korean food has been on my mind. Koco Bell is right down the road from my place so we came here for lunch. It's been a hot minute since I have been here and was excited to be back. My daughter who is a big Kpop fan joined me today. I thought she'd appreciate all the Kpop stuff everywhere. The last time I was in, they had just opened. They have added more decor on the walls and moved the tv. The music was going so the vibe was fun! The fridges were a filled with drinks this time. But majority of the shelves are still empty. The only type of menus they have is on the walls. They also had a couple specials listed at the register. Ordering was a little chaotic today but we got it figured out. My daughter and I ordered a couple lunch specials. We snagged the bulgogi and bimbibop specials. It came with a drink and a sweet pancake. We asked the gal at the register what drink we were getting and she said any drink. They now have the fun Korean drinks in the pouches that you see in Korean gas station videos. They also have the fun ice cups to drink from. Of course I grabbed one as my drink. So many flavors to pick from but the peach tea stood out to me. We chilled for a bit till our food came out. The bulgogi was dropped off first with some kimchi. Shortly after came our massive bowl of bimbibop. The bulgogi was fire today. The last time I had it it lacked flavor. Today, it was very savory! It had a generous amount of bean sprouts and I love the addition of the clear noodles. The perfect bite was the bulgogi, steamed rice eye s chunk of the kimchi. The bimbibop did look kinda intimidating. I know them Koreans can eat spicy. This bimbibop was covered in the red gochujang sauce. The last time I had gochujang, it messed me up cause of how spicy it was. Not today, it was the perfect spice level. It had fresh greens, pickled radish, rice, carrots and chunks of chicken. I mixed that baby up and just went for it! Surprisingly, it was hot but not overwhelmingly hot. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. Each bite was different. It was so good! They didn't hold back on the amount of food you got! My daughter and I shared both and we ate about half of each. You also got a beautiful amount of kimchi and pickled radish. To end our savory lunch, we also got sweet pancakes with our specials. The pancakes were soft and the filling was very sweet. There was some sort of seed in the there. I don't like the texture of cooked seeds or nuts so we picked them out but it was still a very nice sweet treat. I'm so happy I got to have lunch here with my daughter. Food was off the hook and the atmosphere was fun. I look forward to vining back and getting another huge portion of beef bulgogi.

    Korean style corn dog.

This place is amazing. Don't let it fool you that it's attached to Crunch Fitness. They even have drinks in a Korean convenience store fashion with cups of ice and fun drinks! Can't wait to go back.

I would probably give it a 3 in Seattle (my home). But I'd give it a 4 in Boise. Meat was little tough, needs to be thicker and juicier, that would be main critique. In Seattle all the ramen places have better meat slices. It was well flavored though. Broth was right consistency. Lots of toppings which was good. Eggs were perfectly done. Service was quick and helpful - they gave me a spicy sauce at my request which gave the soul a nice kick. Ambiance was peaceful I liked the colorful wall art.

Most disappointing things is that I ordered the spicy dry noodle (what I always order) and it came with the sliced chashu pork vs the chopped pork, despite the online listing stating it is chopped pork (which is what it always was when I ordered it before). It's a small thing, but I don't like the sliced pork, it has a different texture than the chopped pork. So once again disappointed with this place.

"Dear our loyal customers. We are writing to inform you of a significant transition that affects Ramen Sho. Effective March 19, 2025, we will sadly be closing our doors. It has been a pleasure serving our dishes to our customers, who became friends and family over the years since 2017, but it is time to say our goodbyes. We are incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years, and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. Due to multiple determining factors, it has become impossible for us to keep the business going. We hope to open our doors again, should circumstances allow. Until then, we want you to know how much we value you as a customer. We encourage you to visit us in these last weeks and have one last meal.Once again, thank you for contributing to the memories we've made at Ramen Sho. It has been an honor serving you. With sincere gratitude,"

The service was quick and friendly! The interior is not really my taste - it felt like a teenaged boy's room. There's a lot of anime posters and Japanese artwork, so definitely driving in the Japan/anime especially with the artwork outside the storefront. The menus look like they need an update since it was pretty worn down and barely held together by a taped up binder ring. We ordered veggie egg rolls to share and I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen. The egg rolls were ok. The ramen was also ok - nothing impressive. The soup was ok, but not as creamy or rich as I prefer tonkotsu to be. The chashu was dry and chewy, so it could've used more cooking time. The noodles had a great texture and the half boiled egg was delicious. I wish there were bamboo shoots as well but not a personal dealbreaker. All in all, it's an okay ramen restaurant that's on the affordable side.

One employee cooking and running from the kitchen to do everything, cook, register, bus tables, likely without washing hands. Probably works on clogged toilets without washing hands. Nobody at front counter. They have a screen where you order and pay. Everything is self serve and they have the gall to force a tip at checkout. They only accept credit cards and then added a service fee without my acknowledgement. You actually make your own boba. False advertising. Ramen is in the business name but no Ramen on menu. Everything is plastic. This place must be the biggest contributor to the hundreds of miles of floating plastic in the Pacific Ocean. Took 20 minutes to get my food and I was only one other customer at 1 pm on a Thursday. Totally effed up my order. I made it dine in and it came out in a bag to go. Super salty kung pao chicken. Only flimsy plastic ware. All of this is BS. $15 for food I would not allow a dog to eat. After tasting everything in my order, all of it went in the trash can.

Customer service hasn't really been the best here. So, I walked in not expecting much. Low expectations so you don't get disappointed. My tea is good. It's perfectly sweet. You can taste a hint of the floral from the jasmine tea and the fruit of the lychee. There are chewy little jellies on the bottom that are really good. The best part was the juicy lychee on the bottom. Service was a 1 but the drink was a 4.
