After the other doctor gave me a diagnosis that would result in brain surgery and a painful recovery, I was sobbing on the phone with my aunt who then suggested I try Dr. Arnold since she had a wonderful experience with him. He saved me from having unnecessary surgery, experimental testing, and physical pain. I would recommend Dr. Arnold to anyone who asks for a Neurologist. His office is kind of far from my home (I live in the San Ramon Valley), but it's worth the drive for someone who knows how to treat patients and will work to find the best solution to your problem. I trust him completely and I've never felt better. With his treatment, my headaches and vision issues have resolved themselves without surgery or further tests. Dr. Arnold is the best!

My dad sees Dr. Arnold on a regular basis now and we highly recommend him for any Neurological needs.

I have had the privilege of being under Dr. Wrubble's care since 2009, when he diagnosed me with multiple sclerosis (MS), a life-altering moment that he helped me face with compassion, clarity, and empowerment. What set Dr. Wrubble apart from the very first appointment was how meticulous and informative he was in his approach. He didn't rush the diagnosis or rely on assumptions--he explained every test, every symptom, and every treatment path in a way that made me feel not just heard, but truly understood. He laid out the roadmap of what MS could look like in my future and gave me access to resources that helped me not only understand the disease, but learn how to live with it. These weren't generic handouts or boilerplate instructions--Dr. Wrubble offered personalized, real-world guidance that helped me transition into this new chapter of my life with a sense of direction and control. Over the years, he has remained consistently current with the latest research and evolving treatment options in the field of neurology. He doesn't just prescribe a medication--he explains why it's being prescribed, how it interacts with the body, what to expect, and what other paths may be available if things change. That kind of transparency and education is invaluable, especially with a complex and often unpredictable condition like MS. Despite changes in insurance networks and medical group affiliations, I have continued to see Dr. Wrubble--paying out of pocket--because I simply have not found anyone else who provides the same level of care and depth of understanding. That alone speaks volumes. Many physicians are skilled, but Dr. Wrubble combines skill with a personal commitment that inspires confidence and loyalty. If you or a loved one is dealing with a neurological condition, I cannot recommend Dr. Bradley Wrubble highly enough. He is a rare breed of doctor--intelligent, meticulous, compassionate, and unwaveringly dedicated to the well-being of his patients. Choosing him was one of the best medical decisions I've ever made, and I will continue to place my trust in his expertise for as long as I'm able.

Thank you Dr. Tang and your team…read more Beginning January 2019 I was unable to walk more than a few hundred yards without having to sit with pain reaching 7 out of 10. I also could not sleep without pills. Nights were miserable. But I could ride my bike and riding helped lower the pain level. Your diagnostic was: Lumbar spinal stenosis with lumbar radiculopathy."MRI of the lumbar spine demonstrates degenerative disc disease and foraminal narrowing particularly at L4-5 and L5-S1. It is more severe at L5-S1." You operated my back on 07/08/2019 at 08:30:00 am. Pain went away gradually and completely six weeks after the operation. Apart for a short relapse provoked by my lifting a boat (Sun Fish) a year later that went away after a few weeks, I have been healthy and doing very well ever since without taking any pain killer, whether hydrocodone or ibuprofen. I do not know how to thank you and your team for having prolong a great quality of life. I keep on doing the exercises that you recommended. Sure my back is stiff in the morning, and I sometimes develop a low-level pain under my right buttock when I drive my car for an hour. But I am now 76 and in much better shape than any of my riding friends: they all use electric bikes, but I do not. And I walk on Sierra trails without any problem. Bernard Pech

He operated on my spine after consulting with me and discussing what I hoped to gain from the surgery. I wanted to stand for various activities without the need to sit, or lie to avoid the pain on standing. I wanted to walk without pain and finally, to stop the spontaneous lower back pain that haunted me throughout the day. Dr. Tang said, the best alternative would be a "spinal fusion". I accepted his recommendation and proceeded with the surgery. I improved and could stand and walk without pain. Several months went by and the pain returned with a vengeance. He recommended another, limited surgery which I went through. It didn't help. I lived with the pain on standing and walking hoping it would get better. After several months, I returned to see him and discuss the results of a recent lower spine x-ray. I'd seen the x-ray as well as the radiologist findings. The screws were loose in the bone noted by the radiologist. Looseness was indicated by radiolucencies, dark areas surrounding the screws. I'm a dentist and familiar with reading x-rays. I asked Dr. Tang if radiolucent areas concerned him. "No, the screws are not that important in your case." At this point, I couldn't help but ask how often screws he placed didn't integrate with the surrounding bone? "About 20% of the time". Then I asked him about getting an M.R.I. of the lower back because it would better show the soft tissue. He responded saying "There is no need. I already know what it would show." I reminded him that I continued to be in pain. He had nothing more to say. As soon as I returned home, I made an appointment at the UCSF Medical Campus Spine Center. They ordered an M.R.I. and when I met with a neurosurgeon, he had bad news for me. The previous surgery was failing. I would need an extensive back surgery. He, Dr. Nima Allen, was ambivalent about my going through with it. By now my pain had substantially worsened. I went home and wondered what I should do? Two weeks went by when I received a call from a spine surgeon's (Dr. Shane Burch) assistant reaching out to me to consult with Dr. Burch which I did. He felt the surgery would remove most of my pain and provide a normal curvature to my spine. A week later, the pain progressed to an intolerable level. I called Dr. Burch and gave him the go ahead. Fast forward to now, almost 4 months post surgical. I no longer have any back pain. I can stand for as long as I desire and I stand straight, no longer leaning to one side. Three surgeons participated in my care, a spine surgeon, a neurosurgeon and a vascular surgeon. Gordon Tang could not hope to handle my case, nor others like mine. I assume he is a competent neurosurgeon, but he is not a spine surgeon; although he claims to be one. I urge anyone reading this who might require spine surgery, to get another opinion. In fact, it's in your best interests to visit the UCSF Spine center. Stephen Kane

His diagnosis: mal d'embarkment and orthostatic hypertension were both wrong and confirmed by another physician who took more time with me and has a more "humble" attitude, let's say. This other, more experienced physician did say that sometimes, Docs need to come up with a diagnosis even when they do not know for sure and that chronic dizziness is one of those symptoms that befuddle many physicians. I accepted Dr. Wang's diagnosis, but when I got home, I began to research both those terms and began to doubt that his diagnosis applied to me, all for very logical reasons. I wrote him in the MyHealth Online app, where I had been encouraged to raise any questions, and he was very dismissive of my concerns and told me that I would have to make another appointment to see him if I wanted to discuss his diagnosis. That was enough for me. Wild horses could not drag me back to his office. I felt like this doctor did not "see" me as a person. He saw an elderly, dizzy woman who he could condescend to.

I wrote a review about Dr. Kuluva a couple of years ago that didn't get posted for some reason. At…read morethe time, Yelp said they were going to review it, but then never posted it. Since it never got posted, here goes another try. The reason I'm posting this is that I'd like to 2nd Kristin K's experience with Dr. Kuluva. While my experience was not as awful as her's, I also found him to be pretty dismissive. At the time that I was his patient, I was a graduate student in NYC, and was referred to him via the campus counselling center. At that point in my life, I was dealing with a good deal of depression for a variety of reasons. However, he was often dismissive of the things that I would bring up with him - so much so that I found myself censoring myself during our appointments. In fact, I often left my appointments with him feeling worse than when I came in because he made me feel stupid and whiny. Not exactly a great recipe for building trust with someone. Being an adult child of an alcoholic parent who was also often dismissive of me, this really was an especially lousy way to work with me. After several months, I finally got fed up with seeing him, and quit making appointments. If you give him the benefit of the doubt, I believe he was a doing his residency at NYU Medical Center during the time when I was his patient; and for that reason, my understanding was that he was often dealing with patients with far greater psychological issues than run-of-the-mill depression like mine. As a result, I could see how my issues at the time would pale in comparison. Still, I think it's poor practice to make any of your patients feel worse than when they came in, regardless of how severe their issues are. For those who have had success working with him, all the power to you and God bless. My experience with him, however, was lousy and I could never recommend him to anyone.

Despite trying to schedule with a different provider, Sutter Health forced me to see him simply because of a brief consultation I had with him over a decade ago. That historical encounter reminded me exactly why I originally sought out a different, wonderful neurologist who successfully managed my care for nearly two decades. My recent experience proved that his lack of professionalism has not changed. For my appointment, Dr. Richardson was 1 hour and 15 minutes late, despite being physically present in the office right next door. No one on his staff apprised me of the delay, and he only emerged from his office when I finally walked out of the treatment room in protest. Even after his assistant coaxed me back inside, no apology for the extensive wait was offered. He entered the room wearing a white coat over a smoking jacket and clutching a black medical bag--evoking a theatrical, "TV doctor" persona rather than a focused medical professional. The clinical evaluation was deeply concerning: * Dismissive Record Review: He claimed to have reviewed my records, yet confidently stated that "all regions" of my spine looked good. This is factually incorrect, as I have been undergoing treatment for severe spinal issues for decades and have had multiple surgical consultations. * Minimizing Severe Conditions: When I corrected him regarding my actual medical history, he quickly retracted his statement but minimized the severity by claiming he meant my "actual spine" was intact and that he wasn't referring to my pain level. * Lack of Familiarity with the Referral: He initially stated there was nothing he could do for me. I physically had to show him that my referral explicitly requested specific testing, which he only then agreed to order. I have never experienced an appointment with a provider who seemed less concerned with my health (no physical exam was performed during a first visit), and I do not trust his medical judgment. If you are looking for a physician who respects your time, accurately reviews your medical history, and prioritizes patient care, look elsewhere. The irony is that he had the audacity to cut my visit short by telling me that we were short on time after being so egregiously tardy that (something I'm sure that Medicare would like to know because I'm sure that he billed for a full consultation.)
